Chapter 116: Chapter 116
***
"SIR, she's back," Miguel informed me.
Finally, the day I've been waiting for has arrived. I looked at him and then put down the gym equipment I was holding. I wiped my face for a while then faced him again.
"Set an appointment with her. Your earliest," I ordered.
He looked at me before leaving in front of me. After five long years, I felt alive again.
Damn, woman. You made me crazy.
I have no news about her apart from the achievements I hear from other investors. I could not stop myself from smiling every time they are praising her works. I am proud of her. In the midst of the filthy name that rests on her, she managed to bloom in her own way. She's now a respectable architect. A famous one.
Can't wait to see you soon, my wife.
Sunrise sunrise. I already fixed myself. I almost spilled the mango on my clothes. I am nervous and excited at the same time.
"Is she inside?" I frowned and asked the secretary.
"Yes, sir."
I knocked several times but no one answered. Did something happen to her?
Thinking about it made me panic. That's why I opened the door, only to find her talking with someone on the phone.
And fuck the hell! She's smiling!
damn I waited for this day. Then this welcome me?
Baby?
She's in a fucking relationship!
Oh, well, I don't care. She's my wife anyway. Until he's just a boyfriend.
It was . . Nexus?
***
THE next days were like a pull and push for me. I don't know how to approach her. I want to start over but I don't know how to start. I also don't understand a lot. Her actions, her looks. I am her husband, but she seemed to ignore that. But still, I tried to get close to her. I am amazed. I don't know, if I ca be more inlove.
"Do you need a house?" I asked.
Seriously, I am shocked when she came back to her old apartment.
Is she going to settle down?
"I know the owner of this house," I added.
Of course, I know myself.
I smirked at the back of my head.
"Looks like the house isn't for sale."
Not really. Why would I sell the house I built for you?
"Do you want it?" I asked, sternly looking at her.
"Yeah. It's a beautiful house, who wouldn't want it?"
I tried hard not to smile.
Damn. She likes it. She fvcking likes it.
"What the fvck are you doing? You are trespassing!" she blurted out and tried to pull me out of the property, but I didn't even move.
She's holding me.
"Easy, sweetie. It's my house," I stated.
You're going to buy it? That's fine with me. My money is yours too.
But I'm the one you can live with.
***
"Just give my secretary your bank details so I can send the money."
Something was wrong. I could feel it. She doesn't talk to me like this. It was like she's mad and hurt at the same time.
Fvck! What did I do?
"Is there a problem, Khrystal?"
I'm scared. It's like the events of five years ago are coming back. Can we not. We can't be broken again.
"Could you please stop meeting in front of our company, Mr. Revelar?" she blurted out.
"What?" I couldn't track where her words were going.
"You, your fiancee, and your kid. Stop meeting in front of our company."
I quickly frowned. "My what?"
Since when did I have a kid?
"Look, Khrystal. I don't know what you're talking about—"
"Enough, Agustine! Just please! Be honest even now. I don't know what your plan is but please, just please! Don't include me to your revenge on my family. I have already paid you back a long time ago. you've hooked me, you've hurt me, you've broken me. Isn't that enough?!"
My eyes instantly went dark. I realized what she's talking about.
"You can meet your future wife and children somewhere else. You can drop them off at the mall, restaurant, or any other place. Just not here in front of my company!"
"Who are you talking about?"
Tell me straight, babe. I'll fvcking distance myself right away from them.
"Seriously, Agustine? Do you really want a name drop? I'm talking about your fiancee, Lhea, and your kid with her!"
"They are not my family. I am not married to her," I said firmly.
She laughed emptyly. "That's enough, please. Don't let me go. I'm crushed, Agustine. It's not me who did you wrong, but why are you punishing me like this?"
"I said they are not my family," I repeated and rose up from my seat.
I walked towards her and carefully held her arms. I stood her up and made her face me.
See the truth in my eyes, Khrystal.
I wiped her tears away. It hurts me to see her cry, but on the other side of my chest. There's a part of me that's happy because I feel that even a little bit, she still likes me. She'll not act like this if she's not.
"She's not my fiancee. The one you saw is not my daughter either," I said softly.
***
"YOU didn't watch my interview back then, right?"
The eff. For the past five years, I thought she knew.
"Tell me, Khrystal. How can I be her fiance if I'm already married to you?"
She literally stopped breathing as she looked at me.
"Yes, Khrystal. You heard it right. I'm married to you."
Her knees wobbled. Right even before she fell, I already caught her. She was crying. I don't know if it was because he found out or ifs he was crying over something else. All I know was; she's hurt and sad.
"Yes. I targeted you to avenge your family. But I stopped midway because I fell in love with you, Khrystal," I stated.
"W-we . . . have ki—" her words were cut off when her secretary suddenly went inside my office.
Fear was written all over her face.
"M-Ms. Dagsinal. Your mom called you a while ago. She said your son G-Gio . . . had an accident."
I froze in my place as my heart skipped a beat.
Son?
***
I do NOT know how to think. I have a child. Not just one but two.
Fvck!
"Please, save my twin. Daddy . . ."
Seeing my daughter pleaded made my heart burst in pain. I quickly approached him and hugged her despite my fear of touching her. I hugged her tightly. I really want to cry but I have to be strong in front of her.
"I love you. I'm sorry. I'm sorry I was late, baby . . ." I whispered. "I promise, your brother, it will be okay. Daddy will not leave you. I love you very much."
I don't even want to feel sullen but I can't help it. Khrystal hide them from me. It's fvcking painful. I feel numb to the pain.
Yes. I was not a good partner, but I deserve the truth. I am their father. She should at least inform me.
"You pushed me away, Agustine! You drove me away when I was about to tell you the truth!"
My forehead creased.
"You don't remember?" She laughed painfully. "I was asking you to meet me, Agustine. I plan to talk to you but you drove me away by your staff. That day, when I was about to talk to you. I saw you and your family together. You, Lhea, and your daughter who I believed to be. You were smiling with them! While I . . . while you pushed me away. You didn't even bother to face me. You didn't try to go to me!"
I was so lost when she explained her attempts to tell me about our child.
No. . . this is not possible.
If she comes back and tries to talk to me. I will never drive her away. I was waiting for her. Why the hell would I do that?
"Believe me, I didn't even know you came back, Khrystal."
Fvck! I wish she was lying. If earlier I was angry about her hiding from our children, now I think I want to think about you more than the truth that comes to my mind.
Lhea. . . how dare you ruin my family?
***
"MOMMY, I saved Daddy's daughter. He won't be sad, right?"
Hearing it from my son made my body numb in pain. My children didn't deserve this. They are too young to experience this kind of heartbreak.
I tried to explain. I know it's hard for him to accept my explanations, but deep inside his heart. I could feel it, he's believing my words. It's just he's scared.
Don't be, baby. I won't leave anymore.
I will make everyone pay, all the people who caused you great pain like I did to the woman who tried to hurt your Mommy. Drea that fvcking bitch. I am kind, but I know how to be ruthless when my love ones got hurt. Nothing can stop me.
"Miguel," I coldly uttered on the line. "Pull out my shares in all of Lhea's businesses. Whether it's big or small. Also, buy some shares in her mother's company. Ensure that I will have the majority of the shares," I instructed.
"Noted, Sir."
"Go to my condo unit," I continued and gritted my teeth. "Review all the fvcking CCTV footage from five years ago. Track down the girl she spoke to and fire her."
I will never forgive those people.
***
I DON'T know what happened to her. I just went out for a while to buy food. When I came back, I already found her sleeping on the couch. I sat her down and leaned her head on my shoulder to make him sleep more comfortably. After a little while, she started to groan and her eyes started to well up with tears.
"Khrystal, baby, wake up. Damn!"
I am frustrated as hell. I get weak with every drop of her tears. Thankfully, she woke up right away. She stared at me, then what happened next made me stunned. She freaking hug me!
I'm the one dreaming now.
"Do you also love Mommy?" my son asked.
I don't know where he heard it from. There was no trace of emotion in his eyes, but I could feel the hope in his voice. As if that was all he was waiting to know.
Khrystal tried to escape hearing my answer. Maybe she thought I was going to say no, or I will be forced to answer yes.
"Yes . . ." I answered with honesty. "Five years ago up to know, I love her."
Not lost. Not reduced.
"Dear dear . . ."
She didn't speak after that. He only took care of our son while trying to avoid me. I just let her. I don't want to insist.
But I want to insist. . .
I'm going crazy.
***
"Are you really going to stay with us?" Gio carefully asked.
Khrystal was not here with us. Maybe he wants to give this time so that the children and I can talk properly.
I nodded and fixed his comforter. I sat on the side of his bed after that and gently held his hand. Gia was with her grandmother. I already talked to her and explained everything. It's the same with Gio.
"Can I? Will you let me?" I looked at him softly.
He bit his lower lip and slowly gave me a nod. "Can you be with us as soon as possible?"
I couldn't stop myself from chuckling. My heart was moved by something that I was on the verge of crying. I couldn't speak. All I did was nod one after the other.
"I will beg to your mom," I said.
I thought she'll reject me again. I was expecting her to turn me down. I didn't expect the opposite to happen. She accepted me. She really did!
"I love you. For the past five years, I haven't loved anybody else. Despite our miscommunication, my love for you stayed in my heart. It's like you cast a spell on it; you inscribed your name in the deep crap of me. I'm sorry if I hurt you back then, but I promise I'll do better now."
I couldn't think straight anymore. Due to my overflowing happiness, I proposed right on the spot. I will never let her go. I will never let them go.
"I love you too, Agustine. Despite what we both went through, I never lost my love for you. Even in times when I thought it was forbidden. You were the first man who made me feel valued. You defended me. You boosted my confidence. You gave me a home. So, yes, Agustine. I'll marry you."
I cried. After the hardships we went through, we are now at the end. We are about to start a new phase in our lives; together, happily.
"I love you . . ."
Even if it takes me forever to make up for them, I will. For her, for the children, for our family. I stared at her after our long sweet kiss. I could clearly see the joy and satisfaction on her face. There was no hint of hesitation. There was no taint of self-deprecation.
It's amazing how the good-for-nothing woman from Vista Querencia could now confidently flex herself.
From nothing, now, she became my everything. . .
