Chapter 70: Chapter 70

LENA’S POINT OF VIEW

Maia had kissed me goodbye and had left for work. She had already met all of my dangerous business partners when I took her to Thailand. Back then, she had performed a sexy striptease in our bedroom for me then asked if I would miss her, I would’ve missed her so much in these next few hours it would’ve begun to hurt. This was a new experience for me, I had found that I loved Maia, I never took any other girl before her on my business trips with me.

Because I didn’t care about them, I could’ve left them in the city and Dmitri could’ve shot them for all I cared but Maia, she was my girl and I wanted her with me everywhere I went. I didn’t mean to make her as my drug mule, but I have no choice. The business went pretty down lately and all the kids got arrested, I have no time for recruiting new kids, that’s why I asked Maia to help me and she does with all of her heart because she loved me.

I reach the hotel and waiting for Maia to get here, Dmitri will get her to the airport and they will be here in the next two hours. I’m sitting on the couch next to the window, facing the city center of Paris with a laptop on my thighs and a cup of coffee next to me. One and half hours later, Egor gets into my hotel room, I was looking for something on the internet. I’m looking for a gift that I will buy for Maia before she got here.

“Evening Lena...” Egor says, his ass sitting on the couch in front of me.

“Jesus! Egor, sorry you scared me. How the hell you get in here?” I stutter nearly spitting out my coffee and began to stand for him.

“You’ve always forgotten to lock your door Lena, old habits...” He’s looking at me up and down.

“Oh, don’t bother Lena. It’s fine” He says, holding a hand up for me to sit down, then I back to sit.

“I’ve been talking with Sasha” He started.

“Oh?” I ask, sipping my coffee.

“We’re talking about that cute little Pocahontas of yours, Maia is it?” He asked.

Oh God no, I knew that I shouldn’t have taken Maia with me to Thailand. Sasha must tell him everything and he could now use her as a carrot to make me become his puppet, fuck.

“Yes, it is...” I say quietly and reluctantly.

“You care for her?” He asks.

“Yes, I do. A lot” I admit to him in short sentences, trying to make him aware I wanted this conversation about my girlfriend stopped.

Egor raise his eyebrows in surprise, I had a reputation in the cartel for being a bit of a playgirl.

“You do?” He asks.

“Yes Egor, I do!” I say, I point my gaze at him.

“Sasha says you dumped her for that little cute girl that you control as your new mule” He says.

“She’s not a mule!” I say as I raise my voice.

“Oww… So what did she does in the airport?” He laughs softly, leans his back on the couch.

“She had nothing to do with this” I say.

“Really?” He raises an eyebrow as he keeps staring at me.

“This none of your business!” I say, frowning, getting angry.

Egor was my scary as fuck business partner, he can even kill people without a second thought, so I got angry but subtly.

“That’s a shame! She’s cute, I must tell Dmitri she wouldn’t do as a drug mule, maybe she can work with you… you know, you two work together from home, undercover, that sort thing. She seems like a smart one…” He suggests.

I open my mouth to speak in protest in the protection of Maia and raise my eyebrows in anger.

“Oh, relax Lena. I’m not leaving her as a drug mule, except one, Dmitri arranged for her to do one job, it’d be a shame for a face like hers to get arrested and not be seen again for a while. That’s why I suggested she does jobs with you, here, in every hotel in the country you stop by or your house. Work undercover… more safety and no one will know about both of you” He raises an eyebrow, his mouth corner forming into a small smile.

“And you say you care for her right? You’re one of my best dealers Lena, think of this as a gift from me” He finishes.

My mouth still open, no way in hell Maia becoming a drug mule or working in the cartel if I could stop it, for Maia, I work up the courage to stand up to Egor.

“A gift? Maia is not a gift, she’s my girlfriend! She has a job already and what do you mean she’s doing a drug run? No Egor! No!” I say loudly.

“Watch your tone Lena!” He barks back and continues.

“She’s doing the drug run that Dmitri signed her up for. That’s final. You can go with her if you wish and fine, as you wish, she doesn’t work with you. It’s a shame, I would’ve loved her working for me” He says with a dirty smirk, clearly thinking about my girlfriend in a dirty way. It makes me angry and I harden my eyes as I look at him.

“Don’t you fucking dare to think about that!” I point my index finger to him, my blood boiled.

“You know Egor… if you think that you could threaten me, you can’t…” I laugh softly.

“I’m not scared Egor… I’m not scared of you! Never” I exclaim.

“I maybe was your puppet, but I’m not anymore…” I keep pointing my index finger at him, I nearly spit at him in anger.

“I’m done Egor… I’m done” I shook my head.

“Now I free myself from you or your friends… we’re done!” I give him a look with a smirk.

“Now you can get the hell out of here!” I point my index finger at the door as my eyes keep looking at him.

“Don’t fucking mess me again Egor, I’m not kidding...” I say.

“We’re done Egor… We’re done…” I laugh softly as I shook my head.

Egor gets up from the couch and makes his way out in anger, before he’s out of the door, I tell him to deliver my messages to Sasha.

“And tell your sister that I’ll send the money today! And don’t fucking mess me again!” I say loudly.

Egor leaves the room in anger, I lock the door and walk full speed to the bed. I sit on the bed in shock, fear, and sadness. I let my coffee go cold and I could no longer concentrate on my work. I had brought Maia into this and now she more than likely in danger. My girlfriend, the one girl I actually loved. Why couldn’t Egor have done this with another girl? Oh wait, he did, I just didn’t care about the others.

“Ugh…” I heavily sigh as my ass sits on the bedside and I roll over in bed, face planting the pillow. I grab it, pull it close, and hug it, angry at myself and Egor. This was my fault, now I’m done with those people. I need to set up my business from the beginning and start over from zero. That would be a lot of work to do, but at least I save my girlfriend’s life from those people. I inhale deeply and calm myself, trying to settle down.

It’s been three hours and Dmitri didn’t inform me anything, I reach over my phone and call him “Where the hell are you?” I say worriedly. “I leave the airport five minutes ago, there’s a lot of cops there, they’re checking on people” Dmitri says through the phone. “W… what do you mean, where’s Maia?” I ask worriedly. “I didn’t see her” He says. “Jesus Christ Dmitri! How dare you leave my girlfriend alone in there!” I yell through the phone.

I hang up the phone and throw the phone on the bedside “Fuck!” I mumble. “Gosh Maia…” I sigh as I put my hand on my head, thinking about her in my head. I didn’t want her to get caught or leave her alone there. “Okay Lena, relax… think…” I exhale, closing my eyes in minutes. “Okay” I reach over my purse and grab my phone on the bedside. I walk out of the hotel room and make my way to the elevator.

I can’t get her out of my head and I’m so worried. I out of the elevator and get into the cab “Charles de Gaulle Airport please” I say as I sit on the back seat. The driver drives me to the airport, I tell him to drive quickly and I tell him that I have some important thing to do, I pay him more money for that. I sit worriedly as my mind keeps thinking about Maia, I’m waiting in the back seat for minutes before we reach the airport, seconds after we pull over in front of the airport.

I give him the money and get out of the cab full speed. I make my way in to the airport “Shit!” I mumble as I saw lots of cops patrol in front of the gate. I calm myself and get into the airport quickly, I’m looking around the place and I didn’t see Maia anywhere. I reach over my phone and try to call her “Fuck!” I mumble, I hold my phone and look around. I didn’t see her and I’m so worried. I calm myself as I sit in the waiting room seat, hoping for Maia to come worriedly.
