Chapter 54: Chapter 54
LENA’S POINT OF VIEW
Everything just fine, the business runs great and Maia agreed with my demands and move out with me. I feel like she’s fallen for me… or I fall for her. Standing 10 meters from Maia, next to Dmitri, and staring at her occasionally, I felt the last margarita slip down my throat as I’m looking at standing Maia. Her pretty hair like the ocean’s waves… I’m surfing the waves every night she lay down next to me.
Maia is a wave and I’m the ocean, wave is a part of the ocean as Maia is a part of me. The party runs perfectly, everyone’s coming. Dmitri and I looking around the place to see if there are uninvited guests come to this place. “Is it cool right? Standing next to each other with money in our pocket and junkie drunkie people around us” Dmitri says with a smirk on his face. I remove my gaze from the crowd and stare at Dmitri “Yeah… I felt powerful” I say in whispers.
Dmitri stares at me and chuckles “Haha… I got something for you” Dmitri says. I raise an eyebrow and stare at him “Wow… you made me edgy” I say in a low voice. Dmitri moves his head and points his eyes to my workplace, I heavily inhale and walk him to my workplace. I made my way slowly towards the workplace with Dmitri behind me. I walk in nerve-wracking with a glass of margarita in my hand “Here we are…” I say as I open the door.
I let Dmitri in and he starts walking around the place, he stares at the work seat and rests his hand on the seatback with a glass of margarita in his right hand “Wow… beautiful” Dmitri says. I stand in front of the work desk with a glass of margarita in my hand and facing Dmitri “Thanks…” I say. “You’re doing well” Dmitri says as he made his way to seat and sit on the seat. “Yeah… I am” I say under pressure. I watch Dmitri sit with a flat face as he stares at me in silence.
Dmitri heavily inhales as he sips the margarita “We’d like to increase your output” Dmitri says as he put the glass on the work desk. I raise an eyebrow and say “I’m always curious about ‘we’ is” I chuckle “Is that like when ‘they’ say that faux Louis Vuitton bags are in this season? You know what I mean” I say with snickers come out of my mouth. Dmitri inhales deeply as he leans on the seat and stroking the seat handle “No, I don’t know what you mean” He says.
I stare at him and gulped my own saliva “How much?” I say. “Five hundred thousand… a month” Dmitri says. “Oh…” I chuckle “Jeez! Are you fucking kidding me” I say as I highly raise my voice. “What can I say? We’re back in line… Give the people what they want” Dmitri says. I heavily breathing as I point my eyes to Dmitri “Well, I’m gonna need a few new more guys and more cash upfront for treats” I say. “Whatever you need, as always…” Dmitri says.
“Jones will be happy to hear” Dmitri sips the margarita “He values your role in this organization” Dmitri says. “But we do our new business, our new plan. Without my dad’s role” I say with a slight of annoyance in my voice. Dmitri heavily sighs as he stares at me “You know… to kill the lion we need to act like his friend and bite from the inside” Dmitri says. I raise an eyebrow and looking at him “Well, you were right…” I say.
I stare at him with a shifty smile on my face “Cheers” I say as I point the glass of margarita to him. “You’re not expendable D” I say. Dmitri chuckles “I’ll give you a call in a few days to arrange the next drop” Dmitri says as he sips the margarita. “Can’t wait, cheers…” I say as I clearing throat. “Well, I have nothing to do here…” Dmitri says as he gets up from the seat. “Nice to having business with you… partner…” Dmitri says as he runs his hand to mine.
I reach over his hand and I shook his hand, I nodded and smile as my eyes point at Dmitri’s eyes “Thanks…” I say. We both made our way out and get back to the party, I see Maia stand near the drink section and I made my way to her “Hey… where’s your friend?” I say as I get closer to her. “She got a phone call and back early” Maia says as she removes her gaze from me. I could see Maia is mad at me and that makes me like her even more.
I smile as I lean myself on the front bar table and rest my hand on Maia’s shoulder “Mmm… sounds nice” I say in a low voice. Maia raises an eyebrow as she stares at me “What do you mean?” Maia says. I inhale deeply “It’s only two of us now…” I say as I point my eyes to the dancing people in front of us. “You crazy” Maia says. I remove my gaze and stare at Maia “Mmm… you don’t see more” I say in a low voice.
Maia furrowing her eyebrows and I know she’s mad at me. “Hey… I’m sorry” I say as I point my eyes to hers. Maia heavily sighs as she stares at me “Yeah” She says. I chuckle as I point my eyes to the dancing crowd “You know… I like it when you’re mad at me” I say in a low voice. “Why?” Maia says. “You look like Princess Fiona in the Shrek movie” I say. Maia snickers “Fuck you Lena!” She says. “Why? She’s cute” I shrug.
“It’s such a beautiful day!” I say as I take a glass of margarita on the table. Maia chuckle “It’s been raining the last two days” Maia says. “Wow… Has it? I hadn’t noticed” I say as I sip the margarita. I heavily inhale as my eyes looking at Maia “You still mad at me, don’t you?” I say. “You think?” Maia says. I raise an eyebrow as I point my eyes to Maia, I can’t help but to lower my ego in front of her.
I reach over Maia’s hand and kiss the palm of her hand “Is it makes everything better?” I say. Maia stares at me and smiles “Yes…” She says. I can’t help when I saw a sweet smile come through of Maia’s face, and that causing me to smile “Let’s enjoy the party!” I say as I pull Maia’s hand and drag her gently to the dancing floor. We dance as though no one is watching, sing as though no one can hear, we dance for love and for joy.
Hips don’t lie song by Shakira plays “Lemme teach you how to dancing” Maia says as she pulls my hand and drags me gently. “Jeez… I can’t dance” I say in a low voice. All eyes are on us because Maia drags me to the main dance floor, she teaches me dancing and I easily follow her move because that’s not too hard for me. “You’re doing great!” Maia says. I chuckle “Haha… shit! I embarrassed myself in front of my colleague” I say.
“No, you’re not” Maia says as she keeps dancing. “You've gotta dance like there’s nobody watching” Maia says. I raise an eyebrow and nodded. I never love someone before, I learned how to love from Maia and now I know how love feels. I was deaf for love before I meet Maia but now I start to love the rhythm. In the quiet moment of my life, I learn how to love and love even more. If I never meet Maia, I’ll never learn how to love or felt the love.
I learned to love, find eyes to drown into, find lips to get hungry for, find someone to cuddle in the cold room, and find someone who looking at me with love in the eyes. She’s perfect, Maia just perfect… doing with her now, I do best keeping her just for my eyes. Away from the rest, making promises and pushing my life into another isn’t my thing. I just enjoy the moment I created in every single time I spend with her.
