Chapter 96: Chapter 96
Chapter 96
~I can take life for your sake~
Eva stared at Kate with keen absolute interest while she had her flakes. The antecedent to their staying together in a room was one factor Eva never considered to be a reality- staying in a room with same gender had never happened before in her life. Oh yes, she could recall vividly about her admirers that visited; they never made it to her bedroom. Their limit was the sitting room with scarcely any kiss exchanged, even locking of fingers and sexual advances were reserved for other times- all these were put under control by her mother , who never in the right sense of it abhorred her sexual abnormality. On t h other hand Eva never welcomed the men that visited her mother on end. She was of the habit of questioning her mother whenever she barged in on them in the sitting room:
“Mom I hope he isn’t spending the night.” She would ask. And when her mother assured her with a wink and a nod, she would say yet further. “Mom anything he tells you in the name of love accept it with a pinch of salt, just know that he has told a thousand other women same, so you are not the first. Every man is a cheat and every woman is their specimen.”
Although this had left a few of her mother’s visitors embarrassed, and a handful of them gifting her mother a goodbye, her mother never saw it as a retaliation.

“I know your mum must be worried about my presence in your room at this hour,” Kate mumbled midway masticating a mouthful of flakes.
“Hell, no. I should be worried about yours,” Eva said. “Your parents should be worried of your whereabouts now?”
Kate grinned slightly wishing inwardly she could exist without stepping on the past. “Mr. and Mrs. Coleman are not my parents. My father is in jail and my mother is somewhere feeling love with our family lawyer.”
“Your family lawyer?” Eva resounded, catching the agony and sorrow that gathered on Kate’s face; the misery and wrath that hung on her chin. Soon she might shed tears and tremble in sobs.
It is OK, “Eva obliged, drifted to her side, encouraged her to lay her head on her fragile shoulders, while she stroked her ponytail, “I don’t want you to be all tears not any more than I am in your life now.”
Hesitantly, Kate pulled her head from her shoulders, shyly fondled with her fingers and stole an appreciative glance at her. “I want to thank you for saving me from that beast.”
Eva flashed a sinister smile at her beholder.
“I wonder what would have become of me if you hadn’t come some minutes earlier maybe you would have met my corpse in pieces.”
Eva’s smile quickly curled back into frown. “And I would have seized his breath now and in the afterlife.” She held her face and their eyes locked just after they blinked into each other’s face. “Anyone, I repeat any asshole that hurts you will have me to contend with, do you understand?”
Kate snorted into her face, blinked uncountable times and inwardly argued if she could tell her she didn’t understand – how all of a sudden the chemistry between them had churned up an impossible feeling that had come to stay. And now she was yet to understand how she became hers and hers alone. Or was she paying already for saving her life? Down the memory lane Eva was her avoidance and irritation. If she was fated to be with Eva what would become of Brian; the only human figure she could call an angel.
“Yes,” she said coldly even better with a smile that curled up her lips.”I owe you a gift Eva ,” she said to put it straight to her that they were not yet in the same box of affair and feelings; and that her heart still raced for Brian. Eva refuted her with a shake of her waterfall hair, “I don’t need any gift from you than your heart and I have it already.” She reverted, stroking her hair, and tickling her ears. She could perceive the unanswered questions on Kate’s face and one of such was what would be the outcome of the feelings they shared and on what scale was Brian placed now she had come to take over from him.
“I… I” Kate wanted to make an utterance but ended up getting shut by Eva.
“Shhh,” Eva shut her up with her forefinger crossing her soft take-it thick lips. “Speak no further, angel’s poop. You are mine and mine shall you remain forever. You see what I did some hours ago for you is just a tip of the ice berg of what Eva can do for a soul mate. If keeping this love will cost me to spill blood, so be it, even now I can take life for your sake,’ she said in bits of whisper, her hands switching to hers and a strange tranquility hanging over them as they smiled at each other , blinking and smacking their lips in anticipation of what might happen next. Eva’s face surged closer and Kate had already welcomed her advances by shutting her eyes and squeezing her pouted lips, keeping still for her to continue with the move she had already started; her face pulled to lips length, about devouring Kate’s lips in the fanciest of ways she had yearned for nights past, a voice shrieked from downstairs, and interrupted them repeatedly. Eva paused. Kate’s eyes opened, with a brief shrug.
“A minute,” Eva said and armed herself with a base ball bat that lay by the corner.
“Can I come with you?” Kate asked anxiously, a bit scared and unperturbed.
“No stay put,” Eva said rubbed her on the shoulder and said yet again, “I will be back.”
Kate protested, “Hell no. what if you get hurt. It could be Tony, for all I know that beast never backs off from his offenders.”
“Enough reason I don’t want you to join me,” Eva drifted to her, held her face to pass her message impressively. “I just want to believe it is mere noise. But if it is Tony, I promise you I will cancel Christmas on his ass.”
The shriek came yet a gain from downstairs, this time louder.
“I will be back,” Eva assured her, tapped her face slightly and launched out.
Kate stood aside, pacing up and down the room, waiting for her return.
Lust and love called on…
