Chapter 59: Chapter 59
Chapter 59 Kate in his arms again
Kate was well seated at the police station opposite detective Ben and an illuminating lantern shone across their faces as she was interrogated. She had been lying about the call she put to the police and she just had to keep lying otherwise Tony would be implicated.
Earlier she was highly infuriated to put an end to all about Tony; she was hell-bent on snitching on Tony with the police over his notorious cocaine peddling. Inwardly she had come to the end of the tunnel with Tony and the best way she chose to do away with Tony was snitching on him. She had picked up her phone, stared sternly at the 911 she just dialed, and when a voice picked it on the other end, she declined the call. She struggled within herself to keep her trembling hand to a firm hold. Her hand suddenly started shaking as one suffering from Parkinson’s disease. Her heart had increased its pressure and speed; it was not fear neither was it timidity; it was a greater force than obsession and possession. She felt her heart to be within the confines of Tony forever even if he was putting a gun to her head. She was yet to define her feelings for Tony yet she knew his bad boy nature kept pulling her; his notorious lifestyle and the crazy sex he gave her were powerful charms.
She still felt a thing for Tony!
“No! it can’t be!” she had cried within herself, struggled to keep her trembling hand firmly as she picked up her phone yet again to dial 911. This time around was worse than the former; upon a voice picking it on the other end her phone left her hands and dashed the floor.
“What is happening to me?” she had asked within herself and broke down in tears. She wailed, fighting back the urge not to wail at the top of her voice so as not to attract the attention of Mr. and Mrs. Coleman. It was very obvious she still nursed feelings for Tony and she wondered what the end of their viral relationship would look like; maybe on that day the sky would descend to earth and she would pass through fire unhurt. The day she would put an end to their viral relationship might be the beginning of a better or worse relationship. She was yet to understand why and what had stopped her from snitching on him with the police.
Detective Ben cleared his throat, “Your call came twice to us. You cannot tell me you made a mistake twice, dialing 911 and when we picked you never spoke.”
“It is possible,” Kate replied, rolling her eyes.
“How possible is that?” Ben asked, trying to lock eyes with her so as to read meaning into all she said and portrayed through her body language.
“Yes it came twice but did it come again?” she asked.
“It didn’t but then you have made up your mind not to disturb police with your problems which you wanted to do earlier.
“What problem?” she asked, feeling uneasy within herself and snorting.
“I don’t know. You wear the shoes and know where it itches.”
“And I am telling you it does not itch me anywhere. I am fine.”
“How can you be fine? Your father is in jail. Your home gutted with fire. You have history of unethical relationship. So how can you be fine?”
“Is that mockery or interrogation,” she shook her head numbly. “What do you want from me?” she barked.
“I want everything; everything revealing and true.”
“Including my body; because for all I know my breasts and vagina are revealing and true,” she said gladly, touching her breasts.
Detective Ben raised a brow. “Not that kind of thing, namby-pamby, spoilt brat. Listen up. You dialed 911 and when we picked up your voice remained dead. You wanted to say something but I believe you were scared a kind of or threatened by someone or just felt pity for your offender. Kate what do you have in your cupboard? Who offended you? What is that thing that is so heavy on your mind that you want to let go yet you want to keep it and manage it?”
Kate rolled her eyes and threw her gaze to the wall knowing the skims Ben was playing; he wanted to indulge her in emotional blackmail so she would speak up. But she had made up her mind not to snitch on Tony anymore. She was going to keep it up with Tony and see to the end of their love. She was hell bent on sticking to Tony and crushing on Brian. There was no stopping her even though she knew evil or good was going to befall her someday with either of the boys.
“How is your relationship with Tony and Brian? Ben asked as anxiety clouded his face
“I am not answerable to you am i?” Kate asked, “My relationship is none of your business.” Kate was much inflamed, now. “And may I remind you that you are over stepping your boundaries as a police officer. If you push further I will sue you for human right infringements,” she sounded her warning.
“Are you threatening a police officer of the State?”
“I don’t care if you are the police officer of the white house. What I do with my life is none of your damn business. I have the right to love dragons and kiss scorpions. Let the fire and the sting be my problem to worry about not yours.
Ben stared at her sternly and she stared back as silence hung over them.

Kate was done with the interrogation and walking down the road since there was no taxi going her route. All of a sudden a Chevrolet pulled over to her and she looked puzzled.
“What took you to the police station, baby girl?” the voice asked.
“Have you been stalking me?” she asked, and kept moving.
“If stalking you would get you back in my arms I would do it even more,” the voice replied
Kate rolled her eyes and blushed.
The voice was Tony’s.
Love and war was about to happen afresh!
