Chapter 45: Chapter 45
Chapter 45 Thank you, Ken
Ken was very much busy fixing some hot doughnut and cake in the kitchen. He had been wary all day, yet to forgive himself for falling out of grace and short of the schemes of the State’s attorney for his client, Mr. Fanny. Although he blamed Mr. Fanny for keeping his history of drugs peddling from him and expecting him to perform magic, he felt he didn’t do much for the Fanny’s. And now he wondered how Mrs. Fanny would feel, about his legal prowess and experience. After the hearing Mrs. Fanny had avoided him like leprosy and wouldn’t pick his phone calls. He had enough to explain to her; especially about her husband’s decision to go to jail. In fact Mr. Fanny saw it coming and he prepared for it; he had briefed ken that all his days in New York he had not trampled on anyone and had kept a clean slate, and never burnt bridges- offended anyone. So he saw no reason his foes would trace him down to California and plant drugs in his room.
There was a ding dong at the door. “I am coming,” ken shouted from the kitchen after the bell persisted. He turned off his oven, wiped his hands and went for the door.
Mrs. Fanny’s gorgeous, smiling face came through the moment he opened the door. “Heh, Ken.”
“Wow, good to see you,” Ken smiled hugely, hugged her and ushered her in.
She glared around the house, “Nice facility you got here.”
“Oh my house,” said Ken, “This is just the hole for an ambulance chaser. I am yet to buy my dream house and it will be soon. “Have a seat.” He pointed her to a single sofa, and made to the kitchen.
“I can smell chocolate cake,” said Mrs. Fanny, stroking her nose and her attention was caught by the large frame pictures on the wall; Ken well suited was smiling next to a dashing lady in white, holding flowers. She winked at the fact of Ken been married, and she was eager to know the status of his marital life
“This is for you,” Ken placed a portion of the chocolate cake and orange juice on the table beside her and sat to his. She cut from it and crunched closing her eyes, as she crunched.
“You know aside law, I would make a wonderful baker.” He had a cut of his portion and looked at her for some commendations.
“Of a truth, “ she said with cheeks bulged with cake and crunched with great appetite. “I will give you a five star.
“No you are going to give me in cash.” Fanny suggested jocularly and they were thrown into laughter.
They were quiet briefly until she broke the silence, “Have you ever been married?” she asked, sipping her juice and smacking her lips.
Ken looked at the picture on the wall and said, “I knew you were going to ask me that. Anyways, yes, but at a very young age.”
“I can see you were far way younger than her. What happened, arranged marriage?”
“I wouldn’t say so. You know when a boy wants to drink from the cup meant for elders, I walked into her life to enjoy marriage only to get shockers after shockers.”
“Marriage itself is a shocker,” she added and admired the rose tattooed on his left arm, and she almost asked if the rose was for her. Next she had wet pant for his six packs that was glaring through his singlet.
“Not that kind of shocker,’ he explained, “She was an alcoholic, stripper by night and a nurse by day, worst still she was seeing another man.” He gulped his juice and his face became blue.
“Sometimes I wonder what we would have done without divorce. If it be that there is no way out of a heartbreaking marriage, everyone one would be avoid marriage like pig’s ass.” She snorted and crunched her cake. “My husband is lucky to be in jail else we will be discussing divorce by now.”
“Why?” Ken asked, with his face gathering anxiety.
“We have never hidden anything from each other. I shouldn’t be hearing history of his drugs escapade from some dumb ass State’s attorney.”
“We have some damn secret we don’t want to tell, I don’t know how you two blend but if you ask me men tell you a whole lot but keep some whereas women tell you everything. That is our DNA. I feel bad here for not giving him my legal shoulder.” Ken said and caught sight of her bust when she laughed carelessly.
“You don’t have to feel bad for not being able to put of f a fire didn’t start. Fanny should be happy in jail now because he has always wanted to be far from home,” she said and sniffed, feeling like to cry. Suddenly her hands came to her eyes as tears trickled.
“Oh no, no, no,” said Ken, drifting to her side at once and wiping the tears on her cheeks. “You didn’t come all the way down here to shed tears. You have tried. We have tried too. Jail is not a death sentence.”
“He left when I needed him most. We have been hi t so damn hard these past months and I am more scared to live by the day, not knowing what this unknown enemy w ill do next.”
“Come on, nothing is going happen, I am assuring you that. I am always with you. You can count on Ken anytime. We are family now.” He said and by some random mistake his hands poked her breasts and he apologized, “Sorry,” knowing that some weeks ago when he tried to get down with her she had suggested they take things slowly and he would want to respect her feelings.
But she had raised his face at him and locked eyes with him, “You don’t have to be sorry for touching my breasts,” she whispered, “Somebody is going to be touching it in his absence and I think that fellow is you,” she said and they pounced on each other’s lips, kissing hungrily, and smooching their body. He grabbed her dress and unbuttoned it hastily as they kissed on. Tossing her dress to a corner, he pulled to her breasts and sucked with strange moisture. She winced and moaned under her throat. She felt helpless under his hold as she lay back in the sofa, giving him room to kiss down to her navel, while he pulled her short skirt and G-string to her ankles, undid his trousers and bent to give her the first and warmest penetration of her life. She screamed like a girl being deflowered but then it was worth it- the slap- slap sound, the energy in his penis and the pounding into her vagina that left her vibrating under the weight of the sofa. All she had to scream was, “Thank you, Ken!” with heavy moaning.
Ecstasy and worst days loomed on.
