~Happy ending~

It was bizarre to every onlooker including Kate was aghast at the final verdict. She sat in the front pew alongside Eva, Mary, the police detective, the parents of late Doctor Frank while Tony was being arraigned at the court of law.

Seeing Tony handcuffed and being led by a party of prison warden was a dream come true for Kate. She watched with her mouth gaping as the judge pronounced judgment upon Tony.

“Having conducted preliminary assertion about the culprit and having countless incriminating evidence that adduced that the culprit t is guilty of the said charges the honorable court hereby sentence Tony Rightman to life imprisonment for murder, drug peddling, and nuisance to society ,” the judge groaned across the entire audience.

Pandemonium and rambling went across the entire court room as they watched Tony being led away by the prison warden.

When they walked past Kate , she said, “Bad boy, though I laughed last but I laughed best. Go and rot in jail,” she said through clenched teeth, “Away asshole,” she said finally .

Tony wanted to keep bold and fight back the tears that welled up his eyes, but he couldn’t…

“You murdered my only child,” late Doctor Frank’s mother said, amidst tears, “You will encounter eternal pain. I promise you,” she threatened.

“I will never forgive you even in the afterlife for murdering my only child, the only blessing of God upon my household. I will never forgive you,” said Frank’s father through shivering, wailing voice.

Mary was sobbing greatly. Eva tried to console her but she couldn’t be consoled. She sobbed until her words came hitting on Tony, “I wish they could give me the sharpest sword to pierce into your herat for taking the life of the man whose kind I would never see again. Right now I am jaded to enjoy love. You will die Tony. You will die, you…” she couldn’t complete her words as sobbing stopped her.

Eva was lost with words. She couldn’t stop nursing her mother who was sobbing greatly now.

“I still love you Mary and I will take more life to prove that…” Tony said.

Quickly they dragged Tony away, right into the police saloon car and zoomed off. They watched as the car disappeared into the horizon.

Mary wanted to touch late Doctor’s Frank parents and they sneered at her.

“Get away you bitch,” the mother barked, “You deceived my son with your fake love. You made him fall in love with you while you are the sugar mummy of that bad boy. You hid your secret romance from him…” she wailed hugely as her husband nursed her on the shoulder…I “

“If you had told our late son of your dirty rump with that bad boy he would have taken caution at least protected himself from him or avoided you. But you played to be an angel while you play host to the kingdom of hell.” Frank’s father nagged and wiped the tears surging in his eyes. “Doctor Frank was the smarted kid I ever knew. God brought him into our lives after twenty years of barrenness. Now he is dead and we are aged, I wonder what would become of us. We may not have children again. We are ruined. You have ruined us, Mary. I don’t know why you still stand here breathing. You should be killed just like you killed our son with your mischief and secrecy. I hate you!” he barked and dragged his wife away.

Mary broke down hugely in tears , squatted on the ground while Eva nursed her.

“Let me be. I hate myself now. I wish I could die,” Mary lamented, scattered her hair angrily as Eva nursed her.

“You have to be strong, mom. You can’t kill yourself over what you did out of carelessness. You just have to brazen up and move on. Please perk up and make amends that is all. You will soon find love and be happy again,” Eva said.

“No. I can never find a heart as Doctor Frank’s,” she sobbed and knocked off the hands of Eva and ran away.

“Mom! Mom! Hold on, mom! Where are you off to?” Eva called on her mother but she kept running until she disappeared out of sight.

“Heh,” Kate called on Eva. “Sorry for the misfortune I brought upon you and your mother,” she grinned and snorted.

“What misfortune?” Eva asked, widened her gaze upon her and earnestly waited for her response.

Kate sniffed. “You blamed me for everything and I feel guilty for not speaking up the moment I saw Tony frolicking with your mother,” she explained and pulled down her gaze as Eva drew closer.

Eva held her face, “You are forgiven my dear. I over reacted when I came hot at you. You are not responsible for anything. My mother was. You did the right thing by not speaking up, and you have your reason. I am sorry for blowing hot at you,” she said and they locked eyes. “I am sorry.” She squeezed her fingers, hoping they could continue to be lovers.

Like magnet their face started coming together and their lips almost gummed together when Kate paused and pulled back.

“I am sorry Eva,” she said softly, “They can never be us again.”

“Why? I still love you. You still control my heartbeat,” she said pitiably.

“I am in love with Brian now because he took my place in jail. I can spill blood for Brian right now. He has shown me what true love is. True love I couldn’t get from you. I control his heartbeat now not yours.”

“And what is true love?” Eva asked, feeling like to cry while they held hands.

“Forgiveness and keeping your head up in good and bad times for the one you love.”

Just then a saloon car puttered into the arena and Brian jumped out once the car was opened by a prison warden.

“Kate!” Brian called and ran to her.

“Brian!” Kate called, opened her arms to embrace him.

They hugged and kissed each other deeply.

“You are free now,” Kate said.

“Yes they found me not guilty after Tony got into the jail,” Brian sounded, “I am free for you now.”

A deep kiss ensued after their faces pulled together

Eva writhed in pain as she bowed her head and wept quietly, seeing as Brian went on his knees and proposed to Kate.

“You may kiss the bride,” the priest said to Brian and Kate, and they gently pulled their faces and kissed passionately as the guests rendered a thunderous clapping ovation.

Later Brian and Kate were entertaining guests and gifts from well wishers when Meyer advanced to Brian with a set of cute twins who looked nothing short of Brian’s cute face and height.

“Meyer!” Brian called and caught sight of the twins at once.

“We meet again, Brian. These are your twins. I got pregnant for you after that one night stand an I kept them away from you all this while since you don’t love me. I have come to realize that you love Kate so much because you often mentioned her in every of our discussion. These twins are my gifts to you. Their names are Brian and Banky. I wish you and your bride a happy married life,” she said, handed them to Kate and walked away.

“Oh they are so cute like you,” Kate said , rubbed on their fragile curly hair.

While they were admiring the twins, Coleman being ridden in his wheel chair by his cousin, Fred, said, “Son,” he called , “I wish you and your wife a happy married life.”

Fred smiled on, “I wish you the best marriage brings,”

“I am happy to see you two, dad and Fred,” Brian said.

“In addition to your twins, I have something for you, grandma willed it to you on her deathbed,” he said and handed him the documents hastily.

Brian gently unsealed it, pulled out the content from the envelope and a credit card of hundred billion dollars flashed into his eyes like lightning.

“Oh my goose! Oh my goose!” he exclaimed, his hands fidgety while he held the card and showed it to Kate.

“We are rich!!” Kate exclaimed at the top of her voice.

“Yes we are!!” Brian exclaimed repeatedly.

With the twins and credit card in their hands they hugged and kissed passionately.
