Chapter 316

~I still love Jacy~

“Would your mother ever forgive me and accept me back?” Ken asked Blueeyes one day while they were having dinner.

“You see, mom has a good heart,” he sounded and furiously masticated the lump of chicken in his meat before continuing yet further, “Why won’t she forgive you? You won’t believe it if I tell you she still has a no man in her life.”

Ken raised a brow, “How did you know, son? If you tell me that by now she still has no man in her life I wouldn’t believe you. Come on, she is not just pretty but a virtuous woman. Men would come on their influx just to shoot their shots, so you had better don’t believe whatever your mind is telling you,” he said and stretched to have a sip of his juice.

Blueeyes shook his head, “I speak with her over the phone and interrogate her very well. Mom, sound like a wounded heart whose mind for love has been sacrificed to work. She told me emphatically that she has no time for men right now and forever. Perhaps and I stand to be corrected, she is waiting for you,”

Ken blushed and shook his head when he saw the seriousness on the face of Blueeyes.

“Honestly dad, you left a vacuum, an irreplaceable vacuum in her heart which only you could fill. Mom sounds like a kid that would let a wide spread arms to his parents the moment they just broke his heart. Mom is just like a kid now,”

Ken belched, smacked his lips and said, “I got to go to work, son, I would definitely sleep over it.”

He pretended as though he wasn’t interested in what Blueeyes said.

Blueyes jerked his head, “Sleep over it and don’t allow it to slip away.”

Ken patted his shoulder, picked up his car keys and left for work as he regretted all he did to Jacy and inwardly praying she would accept him back into her life.

When Ken drove to work on his way he got a call from his superior about a lawsuit which was scheduled in New York. It was a case file that had lingered unfulfilled and their law chamber had been appointed to continue with the lawsuit. It was a case between a multi-billion advertising company and a client. Ken didn’t get much about the information over the phone.

“Why don’t you hold on? I am on my way to the office. We will talk about this once I get to the office,” Ken said into his phone and sped to the office.

Once he got to the office, even before his arrival their secretary had dropped the file on his table. So he read through upon settling down in his office, “Suit hearing between Empire Advertisers and George Mega.” He snorted before a knock came on his door and his boss stamped into his large exquisite office.

“Sorry for bringing that case file to your notice now. But that case right now is the oxygen we have in this summer,” he said and sat down before poring himself a cup of hot coffee. “Have you perused through it? he asked.

Ken shook his head, “Um, no sir, I just got in,” he replied and started flipping through.

“You see Barrister Ken I am choosing you for this case because I know your onion. The advertising firm involved, being our client is not just a multi-billion firm but it is the leading ad company in the world today. They are topping the chart with annual gross profit of twenty billion dollars. It offends my audacity to know that this same multi-billion company is owned by a woman, you won’t believe that.”

Ken winked. “I don’t believe that a woman could pull that through, although women can be anything these days, but I am as stunned as you. Hmmmm… Nice one. I can’t wait to see such a great woman.”

His boss replied, “Seeing her is not the problem. We have to win this case to earn huge money. First hearing is in two days. You will leave tomorrow. First-class flight, five star suite. I have booked all that for you. Get your loins ready. We must win that case for Empire Advertisers because they are willingly to pay us one million dollars if we do.”

“One million dollars!” ken snapped in shock.

“Yeah one million.”

Ken widened his gaze at him, “OK sir but you shouldn’t have booked a hotel. Have you forgotten my wife stays in new York. I intend to stay in her house all through the hearing.”

His boss wondered, “Your wife? I thought you lost your wife to suicide some days ago.” He reminded him.

Ken breathed uneasily and bowed his head, “You are right, I meant to say my ex-wife.”

His boss raised a brow and grinned, “You and I know you were never married to Jacy. She was your baby mama worst still you broke her heart when you left her for that bitch. Or do you intend to marry her now?” he asked.

He shook his head, “Yes, boss. I still love her and I wish I could turn back the hands of time.”

His boss stood to his feet, “Whatever you do ensure you don’t sacrifice the success of this lawsuit on the altar of love. Keep your feelings aside, focus and win this case. Your poor baby mama can’t give us the one million dollars, Empire Advertisers intend to pay us. One million dollars is not your age mate Good day and good luck, Barrister Ken.”

“Good day sir.” He stood and they shook hands together.

Since the death of Mrs. Fanny Ken had been traveling with Blueeyes wherever he went especially now he intended to stay in Jacy’s house all through the court hearing. He never knew that Jacy was the CEO of the same Empire Advertisers that hired them for the lawsuit…

Once they landed at the airport they boarded a taxi that drove them straight to the five-star suite which Ken regretted to be staying all through the court hearing. He wanted to propose to Jacy and then take her back to California where they would consummate their love.

“Dad I thought you said we were going to stay in mom’s house. Why are you taking me to this five star hotel?” Blueeyes asked and dragged a frown.

“Apologies son, my firm made a mistake. After tomorrows’ court hearing we will locate mom.”

A shocker was about to happen…
