Chapter 263: Chapter 263
Chapter 263
~Reject his marriage proposal
Tony heaved on the door, yanked it open and hopped into the front seat, right beside Mary, whose stomach was not only churned by his presence, also by the exudates of rum that came from Tony. And she wondered how many of that rum in his hand had gone down his throat just to get him gingered for his revenge on her. With the corner of her eyes she stole a glance at him and thought it wise to let him break the silence after he sighed and gritted.
“We meet again.” His voice was spiky and nothing short of a gentle, slow bang on a bass drum that would soon increase in tempo.
A sip. A grin on his face.
“I thought you were going to check up on me since you didn’t see me at the hospital. Or didn’t they tell you about my escape from that damn hospital, where you stood right in front of me and kissed a doctor?”
A sip. A grin. A sip a again and a lengthy grin came through.
Mary threw her face in shame. She sniffed nosily and scowled her face as she barely could keep an eye contact with Tony, who was busy glugging down the bottle of rum as though he was drinking water to quench a thirst.
“You promised to come for me after twenty four hours ,” he coughed and cleared his throat before digging out a stick of cigar which he lit and started smoking hungrily and effortlessly, “I didn’t see you until few days ago when you kissed that doctor right in front of me. You chained me to the edge of the bed, hands and feet were bound, naked like a bush animal just to stay put for twenty for hours and prove my love for you. No! I didn’t see you. You left me to die of hunger and thirst; you left me to rot in skeleton and nakedness; like a worthless dog with a master, you left me bound to die in misery..
Mary couldn’t bear it anymore; her face squeezed up in pain just then as bulbs of tears surged up in her eyes and started trickling down her cheeks
“I am sorry…”she stuttered amidst tears and had her face in her hands.
“Oh hmmm,” Tony hummed and shook his head, “permit me to pride that I over shot your target. You demeaned for twenty four hours and I stayed in coma for six months for you, just to prove how much I love you; just to show how I can go to the land of the dead just because of you. I was like a vegetable for six months…I” he stuttered and sighed before he drew hugely at his cigar, his hands trembling in the cold while he smoked.
“Please Tony forgive me,” she finally turned her gaze to him now and saw how his cuteness seemed to have disappeared with the coma. He was skinny on the face with dried lips and bulged eyeball that rolled within it socket; eyelids that were sexy and charming before; those eyes of his were the first features that charmed her when they first met. His hands were so skinny that the hoody T-shirts he wore flared freely whenever he motioned his hands as he spoke. He was just a shadow of himself now.
“Trust me I have forgiven you,” he said and Mary threw a doubtful star at him and he shook his head in affirmation , “Yes the moment I woke up from coma and noticed that Tony was still breathing and alive, I forgave you. I recalled the woman I am in love with put me in this condition and if I am alive to see her again it then means we are fated to be. Right now I am back to you Mary and I have come with one simple question,” he said and cast his drawn eyes at Mary,
And she stared back at him only to peer down at her thighs and sighed within herself if all Tony said about forgiving her was from the depth of his heart
“Why were you kissing that doctor in my presence, knowing that I was staring at you people from the oxygen mask?” he asked in a crisp different tone that showed he was putting his anger under control. “What is between you two?” he asked and by chance saw the tears surging through her cheeks were much heavier than before. And Tony believed she had emotional attachment to Doctor Frank.
Tony knew he Mary was no small girl and she was obviously seeing another man. Tony grabbed her face and asked again. “For the records who is that doctor to you?” he asked and watched as Mary’s lips trembled when she dared to speak up. About saying something she kept shut, grinned and ended up shaking her head.
Unable to tolerate any further action that geared towards stiff delay and response, Tony dug out his a pistol from his waist and it flashed onto her eyes, as she feared greatly for her life.
“Now. I need answers!” he snapped and held out the pistol, pointed it into her stomach, “Who is the doctor to you, pussy?” he asked at a breath .
Mary was already all tears. “You just have to find a place in your heart to forgive me, Tony,” she sniffed and wailed silently, “When you were in coma, I thought all hope was lost. I thought you weren’t going to be among the living anymore. Doctor Frank came through for me. He was willing to ensure you get on your feet again. He gave you special preferential treatment to make sure you breathe life again. It was in such moment that I fell in love with him, and he proposed to make me his wife. Trust me even after giving you the best of treatment I never knew you were going to be alive. I gave up on you some time ago,” she said amidst tears.
Tony caught sight of the diamond ring on her finger. “Oh I see,” he said, blushed and grabbed her finger. He noticed the diamond value of the ring, “This is pure diamond,” he pulled it from her finger, admired it with a smiling face. “Right now I am back on the street. I need a life support. If I sell this I will have enough money to regain all the money I have lost all the while I was in coma for you.”
She pled, “Please Tony…”
“Keep shut, mother fucker,” he barked , pointed his pistol at her head, “I am back now, be prepared to reject his marriage proposal , else heads will roll…” he sneered.
Whose head would roll?
