Chapter 24: Chapter 24

Chapter 24 A Fall Out~

“ You know we should not be doing this at school,” said Kate, still struggling with her panting from the quickie , and playing with the hem of her dress as she winked at Tony lustfully, before throwing her gaze through the windscreen to observe students dispersing home.

“I know it is because of the smash- and-grab thieves that invaded your house.”

She shook her head in concurrence, “Yes. My home is in shambles right now. Dad wants to upturn hell for these months of losses.” Her eyes became watery at once as tears weighed on it. “Who is after my family? What could be our sin? As tap-drop, came her tears.

“Oh sweet cheese!” exclaimed Tony. Why the tears?” Tony took her in his arms, pecked her forehead and nursed her, “Crying for your enemies is not a sure way to win, trust me. Your family did nothing. Every cloud has a silver lining. Everything is going to be fine. I breathe street and my nose is down for your family. As soon as I sniff these enemies, I promise to take them down and make sure I end dinner on their ass,” he promised and stroked her hair.

They made our house the pig’s assembly. Who knows their next line of action? A life is about to be taken in my family. I don’t know who that is,” she murmured, stroking the hair on his hand and feeding from his heady perfume. One thing she was sure of was her Tony had always smelled good, even after sex. He was such a cute, hibiscus-boy that tickled her fancy. “Tomorrow is our yacht cruise,” she reminded him and his thick lips curved in smile, “The day after I will draw you a tattoo and gift you a cruise in a Rolls Royce.

Tony gaped at her in shock, least expecting such shower of love falling down to him and he wondered how much of such love she had showered on Brian secretly. He knew she still nursed feelings for Brian – yes she did- she could still take Brian’s bullet, and he was going to prove it soon.

“You know I would love to notify you that my dad planted a hidden camera in the bath that covered Brian abusing me in the name of washing me,” She informed him and wished she could live all her life without having to mention Brian; just like abandoning a worn out cloth for life.

Tony grew crimson, wondering how what she just said related to their discussion until she said “Investigation may intensify especially now they invaded our house,” she paused as quietness hung over them briefly before she added; “I will give you cash so you can rent an apartment.”

He flinched from her as though her words had current that pumped into his body, “Why? Do I look like the sticky fingers that invaded your home?” he questioned, shooting his scowls at her, and calculating the risk she wanted him to take.

‘To have a place of your own and stop squatting with your boss. Aside the fact that we have outgrown it, you could be implicated and thrown behind bars, if Fred and his boys should frown at your boss or you.”

“You and I have discussed this in the past and I told you my boss is a disease. I can’t stay away from the cartel”

Kate squeezed her lips in disagreement,- whenever she squeezed her lips in such manner, they would either be a fighting or annoying bickering.

“What do you mean Tee? What are you not telling me?” she yelled burning greatly. “You want to play the folly.”

“I don’t want to play the folly,” he barked. “You and I know I do drugs and he doesn’t like his workers staying off his roof. It is either we are under his roof or we are quitting.”

She cut in like thunder, her pulse jumping, “Then quit,” she hammered yet further, “Quit, I will rent you a house where we can call ours and start planning our future.”

‘Future?’ Tony asked within himself, ‘Or our future?’ Which of them? “Quit?” asked Tony, smiling and fighting not to mock her with his chuckle, “Common my umbilical cord is tied to drugs. There is no stopping me,” he said and turned on the engine as they started cruising out of the school premises. He stated yet further. “I know your house was attacked but we can always afford a hotel room,” he said and she stared out through the windscreen, counting the trees and houses that threw past as they drove on – she imagined her love life throwing past as those trees and houses – she had never gotten it right when it came to falling in love. If her love were to be painted it would be a mixture of colors with no artist and definition. Her love life had been an avenue and not a destination – she had pulled guys and not hearts. It was high time she got it right before regretting to have worn the devil’s shoe.

“You don’t want to quit,” she murmured, her yes holding fire and staring into the horizon in front of her, “Stop the car,” she said coldly at first, her eyes dragging brimstone as her face rumpled like a squeezed piece of paper.

Tony sped on throwing her request to the wind and feigning deaf ears.

“Stop the car now!” she thundered, hitting her hands on the dashboard with the intention of stopping it herself. She had the blues already.

The car pulled over and Tony glared at her red face and veins that stood out in her arms. He wanted to remind her the risk of alighting in the middle of nowhere but deemed it a lost course when she alighted, slammed the door, and started walking down the road. She cursed, “Fuck you Tony,” and walked on.

He responded abruptly “Fuck you too,” and sped on with a screech.

She stood on the roadside, wincing and burning greatly in her spirit- was it the end of folly for her or the beginning of nemesis. Brian was gone and somewhat Tony- she suddenly broke down in tears, squatting and hitting on the ground. Her standing with Tony was on a toe; either of them could fall off and unable to get a helping hand from the other. Disaster called on.

When Tony got home his boss invited him over and handed him a whooping sum of fifty thousand dollars for the tape he gave him to sell – the very tape he got from the lake- the one Mrs. Fanny discarded. He counted fifteen thousand and handed him in appreciation and made to his room, kissing the bundle in his hands. His boss encouraged him to bring more tape and reminded him of their consignment arriving from Mexico soon. Worst days ahead.
