Chapter 219: Chapter 219

Chapter 219

~Madam Boss~

Jacy came back to New York a better and happier woman. Nothing on earth would plunge him to maltreat Blueeyes anymore. She had put fear in him and expected his love and care for Blueeyes to deepen as the day drew by. Although she was yet to understand why Blueeyes refused to join her in New York, she hoped to see what her son was about to pull through.

Winter was heavy at the time, mostly early hours and it was her routine to go on a work out. With her ears pod, water bottle and body fitted in pants and sneakers, she was ready for her usual early workout.

Upon opening the door, standing right in front of her was Rodriguez who was also fully kitted to join her in the workout. She had never seen the alpha in Teddy until now; his beefy chests and arms forced themselves against his shirt, and the veins that wired through his skin outlined perfectly with his the blond hairs that slept through.

“Oh my goose!” she exclaimed, gagging her mouth with her arms, awed and stroked to see Rodriguez at her house, fully kitted too. “How did you know about my work out?” she asked, blushed and charmed by his gorgeous smile that dug dimples into his cheeks.

She had never seen a man so handsome, but she was going to try hard to resist him.

“OK, um,” he contemplated , “About the other day, I was driving past the bridge when I saw you jug through, so I decided to surprise you today by joining you,” he explained , still at his smile hands being rubbed together in anticipation. “Hope you don’t mind if I join you,” he added when Jacy wouldn’t come off the blush and surprise.

“Well I would love to see how fit you are. Come on,” she said and clicked her finger at him, before setting the pace.

“Oh I am grateful. Thanks,” he intoned and started jugging after her, until they were on the same pace.

“Work out needs focus. I hope you are not going to be a source of distraction,” she said and stole a glance at him.

A smile.

“Well. If it makes it more interesting who am I not to distract you?” replied Rodriguez, staring at her while she smiled and shook her head.

They had a nice engaging calories-burning work out and retired to a restaurant where they sat to a tray of berry fruit and smoothie.

“This will be my first time in decades,” said Rodriguez, wiping the sweat trickling down his head and then stretching to the berry to pick one and have a bite.

“And you are this brawly and fit?” she replied, “What is the secret?” she asked, stirring her smoothie and digging the straw to have a sip.

He blushed, smacked his lips and masticated the berry with a rare appetite, “I earned this body from my grandpa according to my parents, initially I doubted until I saw his picture. Hmmm,” he hummed, “I am really my grandpa,” he sounded leaving her chuckling.

“So since you came to New York have you got any job?” she asked knowing that the last time she saw him, he was laying about in his hotel room. And she was struck to ponder how he paid the hotel bills without a job.

“Um… not yet. Although I have applied at so many restaurants, including this one.”

“Really!” she snapped, and argued within herself if it was wise to employ him in her little business.

“I look forward to their reply, because I am madly broke as we speak,” he said.

He hoped he told her a perfect lie. Like he planned initially, he wouldn’t want her to know he was running from his drugs life in Mexico, and that he had amassed so much wealth that could last him for a life time. Disguise was one way he wanted to use on her and she was already falling for it. “In the days to come, I may not be able to pay my hotel bills,” he said.

“Don’t think I am going to tell you to relocate to my house,” she said jocularly and caught the smile that rode through his face.

He snorted stroked his hair. “I know it is not proper. I mean it should be the other way round.”

“OK,” she smacked her lips locked eyes with them briefly before saying, “How about you working for me…”

He interrupted, “For you?” his eyes rolled at her as he pondered over it.

“Yes for me. I will be your boss and pay you also sack you if you misbehave at duty,” she intoned as her lips curled up in smiles even when she was dire serious.

“Tell me more, madam boss,” he insisted, sipping hastily to pay rapt attention.

“You know …I started this real estate company way back in campus and today it has come into fruition as I could boast of five clients. It is a simple company. We are agents.”

“Ok, number of staff?” he asked.

“For now only me,” she replied.

“But I am not educated. All my life I have been on the street,” he said.

“All I need is your skill and dedication. As for your inability to pay your hotel bills, you can join me in my house but ,” she added and interrupted him when he wanted to express his joy, “No emotional attachment. No kisses. No sex. My decision remains the same. I don’t need a man in my life anymore. To me, men suck. All I want to do right now is survival, cater for my son, Blueeyes and spend the rest of my life as a happy single mother,” she said at a breath.

He shook his head, “Agreed. All I do is build and together we can build up and make your business more profitable. So when do I apply?” he asked.

“You just begun,” she replied and inwardly started building a formidable force against his charming green eyes and cute personality as he joins her in business as and at home…
