Chapter 198
~Seizing Time~
When Ella hesitated to give him response, he raised his brow at her, to let her know he meant no harm. “Apologies, but it is not ordinary that Brian helped you put to bed,” he added.
Ella stood to her feet, and shot her frown at him, “I don’t know what you mean.” She shrugged, “what do you mean by that statement?”
For Christ sake, my son is not a medical doctor. I wonder what would inspire him to have the desire to peep into a woman’s pussy for over an hour all in the name of childbirth.”
Ella shook her head, understood, where he was driving at but would want him to look her straight in the eyes and tell her that Brian dated her.
“I don’t know what you are talking about,” she felt itches of suspicion possess her countenance and then she fetched herself a fresh shot of whisky which she never intended to fetch, “I was a poor pregnant woman who was a victim of unpredicted contraction and your son came to my rescue. Would you have suggested I fight him off, just because I didn’t want him to see my pussy?” she said, casting her gaze into the shot of whisky, avoiding to lock eyes with Mr. Coleman, because she was having a replay of that incident in her mind now; that was one good thing Brian did for her, she would never forget; it was like a warrior who went down to the land of Hades, got her rescued without getting hurt. She wouldn’t want to go down memory lane and replay her past events with Brian because she wouldn’t want to shed tears in the presence of Mr. Coleman whom she perceived to be inquisitive and anxious to know whether she dated Brian or not.
“Brian is my son. He has never had passion for medicine let alone practice it. All his life has been invested in security and sporting. In fact his passion for golf and rugby is second to none.” Mr. Coleman said, noticed the quarrelsome look on her face and would not want to continue with the conversation. “Anyways I am just shocked to know that Brian practiced in some hours what takes people yeasr to learn.”
“I call it genius.” Ella said, felt like smoking and then she picked a Roi Tan from the bar, and smacked it with her moist lips before lighting up.
“I hope you would always make yourself available whenever the police call on us?” asked Mr. Coleman as he stood up to take his leave.
“Any time Mr. Coleman,” said Ella and she blew a cloud of smoke before standing up too. “I can do anything to bring the perpetrators of this dastardly act upon my husband to book. But for now lets’ believe he went on a long trip and hopefully he would be back safely.”
“Hmmm,” Mr. Coleman turned to take his leave but something struck him in the head, and he swirled around to say, “Before you noticed the disappearance of your husband. Did you two have a fight?”
Ella shook her head in the negative.
“Any note? Did he drop a note about his destination?” he asked yet again.
And Ella shook her head yet again but this time with a cloud of Roi Tan smoke hovering around her.
About taking his leave, his eyes came upon a novel on the desk and it was entitled, ‘Seizing Hours by Bee Lee. Quickly he made to the book, “Wow, Bee Lee. This is my favorite author,” he said, raising the book to her and tapping it with his fingers. “I hope you don’t mind if I read this one. I have so many of his titles,” he intoned.
She shrugged, “Go ahead, Mr. Coleman. Perhaps we share the same hobby. I read a lot too.”
Mr. Coleman brought the book to his chest, smiled at her to take his leave. “Goodbye, Mrs. Fred,” he said finally flashed a generous smirk at her, waved at her and left.
Once he left, Ella hastened to the window, smoked and stared at him as he hopped into his car and zoomed off. “Asshole,” she cursed, dimmed her eyes in rage and said yet again, “You and your son are in for the worst,” she smiled evilly, blew a cloud of smoke, and then frowned.

Brian was staring at the artificial penguin in the ball room when grandma trudged in and he sensed her presence and said his greeting, “Good evening, grandma ,” and suspected she had come to discuss Ella.
In response to his greeting, she said, “Your father is yet to be back. Have you called him?” she inquired, and when Brian shook his head, she said yet further, I was thinking you could join me to have a walk at the field.”
A hush of quietness hung across them as she waited for his response. Brian threw a suspicious stare at her, sagged his jaw, stretched his hand and grabbed his jacket.
“Ok we can have a walk,” he said, and waited for grandma to take the lead.
On their way out, they ran into Mr. Coleman as he drove into the garage.
“Oh he is here,” said grandma, walking towards the garage so she could know of his visit at Ella’s. “You are welcome, Coleman.”
“Thank you grandma,” replied Mr. Coleman, “Where are you two off to?” he asked, gazing upon Brian and wondering if he was still having a runny stomach.
“We want to have a walk at the field,” said grandma rubbing Brian on the shoulder.
“Oh I see,” he said, and turned his gaze to Brian, “How do you feel now, son?” he asked.
“Better now,” replied Brian, grinning and rolling his eyes at grandma knowing she would want to know everything.
“What happened to my grandson?” she asked, studying Brian from head to toe.
“Oh he complained earlier of runny stomach,” said Coleman.
Grandma caught sight of the book in his hands and she asked, “What is that in your hands?
“Yeah,” Mr. Coleman recalled, “Guess what I got this from my cousin’s house, it is one of Bee Lee’s collection, Seizing Time.”
“Oh Seizing Time,” snapped grandma. “I read that novel in my youthful days. Brian,” she called, “I would recommend you that novel,” she said to Brian and he shook his head in approval.
“Alright you guys can enjoy your walk while I enjoy Seizing Time,” said Mr. Coleman and he walked into the sitting room…
Something was about to strike…
