Chapter 160: Chapter 160

Chapter 160

~Twins unknown to him~

Meyer accepted the name whole-heartedly and appreciated the nanny for the idea of naming either of them Brian; it was like her dream come true and she could not wait to call that name often than necessary in the days ahead. She felt very close to Brian than Banky. She felt very close to Brian right now and prayed that she wouldn’t love the twin Brian than Banky. She need not be told that the twins were hers; a product of her womb and being sentimental about them wasn’t going to help. She wouldn’t want the twins to grow only to discover that one is being loved and adored than the other.

“Oh Banky is awake,” the nanny interrupted Meyer’s thought and shook her head playfully at Banky whose face brightened up with the intention to smile if she played further.

“Oh baby boo!” Meyer smiled at Banky and lent him her tiniest finger as he held it firmly and then let a smile from a face that just came from sleep.

“We had twins in our family,” said the nanny, peering her face at Banky and he was left chuckling while she said further, “But we started regretting having them due to some mysterious happenings.”

“Mysterious happening?” queried Meyer, as her face glittered with attention, “Like what?” she asked with great interest, trying to know what it was and if it would affect her twins too.

The nanny molded a frown across her face as though what she was about saying next was too pathetic and unheard of.

“They were so connected that what affected one affected the other. Whenever one fell ill, we would be ready to take the other to the hospital because in no distance time she would fall ill too,” the nanny said, hummed and gritted painfully. “However like thunder, we were informed by the family doctor that one had cancer. When we heard it, we placed the sick one on treatment and quickly diagnosed the other one and it was certified that she was, much healthy and cancer free, and for months our joy knew no bounds. We were now left to hand over the sick one to God to heal her as medicine had already failed,” she paused, as her countenance fell, with her head shaking.

“Don’t tell me you lost the sick one,” said Meyer who was so impatient to get the full gist as she couldn’t wait for the nanny to be done shaking her head.

“Of course we did,” the nanny intoned fighting off the urge to shed tears, “In few months the other twin fell ill, even worse than the dead one and when we went for diagnosis, cancer was conformed too. We didn’t want to lose this one like we lost the other one. We went out of our way to source to for support and trust just to sustain her. We got enough money for her medical bills and it was about treatment. The tragedy was that she wasn’t responding to treatment.” The nanny paused, stretched to her cup of cocktail, had a quick sip and cleared her throat to continue.

Meyer’s frown had caked just then as she asked, “And what happened next?” she held her bust in pity as though the next comment from the nanny was going to hit her chest so hard.

“We tried to keep her. We wanted her. Since the other twin had kicked the bucket we wanted to keep this one so that we could have close memory of the dead one. On a fateful afternoon, the entire family had gathered at the hospital to spend a nice time with her. We were happy for once that she could speak up after a long while. We had told her our plans of taking her on a vacation and dedicating a cancer foundation to them if she survived. Little did we know that we were just seeing the last of her. She had obliged we allow her to have a nap because her eyes were heavy with dizziness. The entire family had dispersed, just on our way home, the doctor rang us she had breathed her last.”

“Oh my goose!” Meyer exclaimed, holding Brian firmly into her bust, as though she was trying to restrain the twin from the hands of cancer. “It is such a pity! Do accept my condolence! Damn!” she snapped and noticed the sorrow pacing through the nanny’s face and soon cold tears would surge down her cheeks.

When the nanny thought it was time to let tears trickle down her cheeks, she flinched, “Holy Cow!” she exclaimed, confused whether to sit up or to remain seated, “Oh my goose!”

Meyer caught sight of the colorless fluid raining from her thighs; Banky had weed on her.

“Naughty you, Banky,” Meyer said, and frowned at his innocent face. This is horrible now. Don’t worry I got you,” Meyer encouraged her. “Where do I get baby wipes right now? I don’t know how I wore him the diaper, perhaps I wore it wrongly,” she nagged.

The nanny turned Banky on his face and checked that the diaper wasn’t worn properly, “Exactly,” replied the nanny.

“You wouldn’t blame me. This is my first time of experiencing motherhood,” she wailed, “Where do I get wipes to dry your body right now?” she asked, confusedly.

“You can get one at the stall under that upstairs over there,” the cocktail chef replied her, pointing at the stall.

“Can you assist me with Brian while I go and fetch the wipes?” Meyer asked.

“Why not. I can carry six plates, that is why I am a professional nanny,” she said and let a brief smile.

“Ok right away,” Meyer said, gave Brian to her and then dashed out.

Just then Brian walked in to fetch the cocktail for him and Ella, and he caught sight of the twins in the arms of the nanny.

“Oh my goose!” he exclaimed, “The twins are so cute,” he eulogized and touched them on the cheeks playfully.

The nanny shared a quick stare at Brian and the twins. “They resemble you perfectly,” she said, still staring at Brian and the twins, striking the resemblance,

“Oh really,” said Brian, smiling at the twins and rubbing their cheeks. “I hope to have cute twins as these someday,” he said, “Bye,” he waved at them, went to the counter, got his orders and left like lightning.

Meyer walked in immediately with the wipes…
