Chapter 124: Chapter 124
Chapter 124
~The same room, the same bed~
It was late when they got back on the road to get home and Ella had asked Brian where they would spend the night. Brian quietened at first, trying to think out of the box while he drove home—no particular destination. He had planned everything but suddenly thought of dumping a blood line into the lake was getting him sick. He wondered.
“if you allow the police to confront you it will create an unquenchable suspicion that might implicate us soon, in the days to come you are going to phone the police telling them about your endless worries over the delayed arrival of your husband who went to the grocery to fetch some items, that would be your complaint as a concerned caring wife. Never you feed their thought with disappearance. Don’t mention disappearance just tell them vaguely about your worries and fear for not seeing your husband or his call after he went to the grocery to fetch stuff. They should run their investigation, and come up with the idea and fact that it is disappearance,”
Ella listened with everything on her face; her eyes still rarely blinking, her lips pouted; nose stood; and face pulled up emotionless frown.
“The same thing is applicable with the family. You don’t have to give them a straight thought that you know anything about his disappearance or death. They should run their investigation and prove to you that he disappeared or that they discovered his corpse in the lake.”
“But are they going to discover that corpse?” she asked stroking her hair and feeling threatened by the discussion. She knew much loomed on and she wished Brian would stand with her in all of this.
He shook his head, “They will never find the corpse and if they do it will have decomposed beyond recognition, trust me we are as clean as whistle. Soon police and his family will give up on searching out his corpse and the issue will die away with time”
She added as though it just struck in her head, “I want to return to the farm…”
He interrupted quickly, “No it is risky to do that now. if you do that you are leaking to the police you have a feud or a fight with your husband which is the reason you are running away from home. These people are bunch of sweet-smelling smart ass. They will look into it and push you into revealing that you murdered your husband. You are going to stay put in the mansion, make them believe you still love your husband and this home is all you have got” he glance at Ella and saw the worries and loneliness walking on her face. “You don’t have to worry. I will be sneaking in to keep you company,” he mumbled as they shared a smile.
Brian pulled up at a sky scraper.
Country Home Hotel and Suite, zoomed into Ella ‘s eyes the moment she looked out of the window, and returned gaze on Brian, questioning him.
“Yes,” he replied, “That is how our night will run. We need to spend the night here and then disperse at dawn. While bringing out the corpse I saw blood stain in my trunk so I would want to takes it to the car wash when I get to the farm. I don’t want to take it to the car wash out there so as to avert suspicion.” He cast a glance at his watch and it was past ten, “We don’t need to ply the road at this ungodly hour. I still have my credit card with me. We can check into this hotel, rest our heads for the task ahead.”
Just then his phone buzzed and their stare came on the screen of his phone which had Grandma calling… they paused for the call to come yet again before Brian picked up.
“Where the hell have you been, nanny’s boy?” she asked from the other end. “I was about making entry at the police station about your sudden disappearance after going to screw another man’s wife.”
“Damn it grandma you can’t do that, I am safe and sound where I am. I am just safer than the lion’s ass. There is no need for all of that. I went for a friend’s birthday party, after checking up on Ella. I will be back tomorrow.”
“You said what? Birthday party or screw day party, which of them did you go for?” she humorously asked from the other end. “Son, I told you never to fuck another man’s wife and you vehemently disobeyed me, uh,” she nagged from the other, with a cup of Starbucks Cappuccino coffee in her hand. “I just can’t wait for you to return home and tell me how married women taste like.
He snorted, stroking his head confusedly, “Oh grandma, go to bed I will be back tomorrow. How long am I going to keep telling you I am not fucking Ella, uh?”
She yelled. “Keep shut, nanny’s boy, keep shut. You forgot I have been through your age grade. You would always deny until I catch you someday climaxing on her body.”
Good night.” He hung up on her.
Ella gave him an interrogative look, fondling with her fingers, “I hope you are not in trouble, uh?” she queried, noticing the redness that built on his face, and his jaw that shook shortly after he dropped the call.
“Hell no, it is just grandma and her annoying fuss. She wants to know my whereabouts, she will see me home tomorrow but for now, Country Home Hotel is where we belong” he said and they locked eyes, and kept calm as light.
“I don’t want you to get walked up. We all know grandma. She is so impossible,” she said and nursed him with her palm on his shoulder.
He imagined what tonight would offer to two radical lovers staying in the same room, the same bed, and seeing the same face for hours till dawn…
