Ruhaan's P.O.V.

When I told a policeman about meeting Shaan, he spoke up, “He is allowed to meet only one person per day and someone has already met him today.”

Hearing him, I asked to meet Tamim but the answer was the same. Then I got back to the hospital.

Entering the room, I kept standing by the bed where Titly was lying. I was thinking about what would I do if I lose her again.

I got out of the room and sat on the chair when Roshni came to me. I knew what she would ask me. So I answered her all by myself.

Hearing me, she uttered with a little bit of hesitation, “Ruhaan, though I have just known Shaan for few days but I think we are missing something. I mean he didn’t seem to be a person to do all that.”

Hearing her, I looked at her and she got all silent.

Then with a little bit of smile, I spoke up, “Roshni, I know Shaan too well to believe all this nonsense. He is just not the fiance of Titly but also my brother and no less than Titly to me.

How could he think of doing these nonsense things! If he was involved in those, he wouldn’t have been with me all those times let alone suffering with me.”

Roshni uttered to herself, “Then why did he do that?” and hearing that I spoke up again, “He is just blaming himself as his father did all that.”

Hearing me, Roshni got shocked as she uttered, “What! What did you say?”

Staring at her, I spoke up, “Though it came to my mind when Tamim was being like that but I ignored the thought. Maybe Shaan got to know it somehow and went on with this as there might be no proof of his father’s action to punish him and he is not a person to repent on his actions.”

Hearing me, Roshni uttered in anger, “Forget about me but how could he do this to Titly, to you, to his own son, Shaan! When he knew Shaan loved Titly and she was Shaan’s would-be wife.”

“He didn’t like us back then. Aunty, Shaan’s Ammi and my Ammi were best friends. They wanted this marriage to happen. Though we didn’t get along well with uncle but we had no idea that he hated us that much. When Aunty died, he totally got into his business ignoring Shaan and Shaan started to spend his time with us.”

Uttering to herself, “What kind of a person he is! How could he do this to his own child!”, Roshni looked at me and spoke up, “But Ruhaan, what will we do now? We can’t just let Shaan take all the blame on himself of his terribly pathetic father.”

I spoke up being anguished, “You know, Ammi always considered Shaan as her son. She always kept telling me to be with Shaan when his mother died. I promised Ammi that I would be with him and protect Titly and Shaan both from all the evil things. But I couldn’t, Roshni. I failed to keep my promise. Neither I could protect Titly nor Shaan and both of them are going through all these.” and tears started rolling down my cheeks.

Roshni then spoke up with her head down, “Then I am also at fault to some extent.” but in no moment she looked at me and uttered, “But it’s not the time to find faults with ourselves or repent on our action, Ruhaan. We need to do something for Shaan.”

Nodding at her, I spoke up, “Shaan might have done this finding no other way to get the truth revealed. But we have to find something. We have to do something to get Shaan back to us. If Titly gets her memory back, she would surely ask for Shaan and I can’t just tell her all this.”

Author’s P.O.V.

It was almost 4 at night. Titly was still unconscious. Mrs. Ayesha fell asleep in the couch while waiting for Titly to wake up. Ruhaan and Roshni were just sitting by the bed of Titly.

Though it was not allowed for three person to stay with one patient at night but with Mrs. Ayesha’s heart condition, Roshni somehow managed to convince the doctor and stayed there.

Sitting by the bed of Titly, Roshni and Ruhaan both were totally silent as they kept staring at the face of Titly while being lost in their past memories with cheerful Titly.

Their thought got broken when they heard a meek voice.

"Vai?”

Finding Titly looking at him with slightly opened eyes, he stood up and spoke up excitedly, “Titly? You are awake dear? Thanks to Allah. I don’t know what I would have done if I got to lose you again."

With a little bit of smile, she spoke up, “Where would I go vai leaving you!”

Saying this, she slowly moved her head to other side. Giving Roshni a confused look, she turned to Ruhaan and spoke up, “Where is Shaan, Vai? Tell him to stop crying. I am fine now.” while slowly closing her eyes again....

Ruhaan's P.O.V.

As soon as Titly closed her eyes, I called out her name quite loudly. When there was no response, I rushed to get the doctor.

Checking her, the doctor spoke up, "Don't worry. She is now out of danger. She is just sleeping."

I thanked the doctor and he left from there. Hearing my earlier loud voice, Aunty woke up and got near us. Hearing the doctor, she hugged Roshni being happy.

Roshni was looking happy also but there was something on her face. Ignoring that for a moment, I let out a sigh in relief and thanked Allah in mind.

We again sat by the side of Titly and kept quiet. After some time Roshni left the room and I was sure there was tear in her eyes.

I didn't understand what happened to her suddenly. Being confused, I was about to follow her but when I saw Aunty following her, I got stopped.

When they didn’t come back even after a long time, being confused and worried, I got outside to check on them.

But before Roshni could say anything, her phone rang off and she left the place.

Roshni's P.O.V.

When Titly gained consciousness, I was very happy but the look on her face as she turned to me like she didn't even recognize me.

Before I could say something, she spoke up something and again lost her consciousness.

When the doctor said, she was okay now, being extremely happy and relieved Ammi and me hugged each other.

After that, we again sat by her side and in no moment, that look of her came to my mind. I felt tearing up and left from there immediately.

Sitting outside the room, I kept thinking about that and tears started rolling down my cheeks. When I saw Ammi sitting beside me, I just hugged her while sobbing.

While patting my back, Ammi asked me, "What happened, sweetheart? Tithy is well now. The doctor said that, right?"

"I know Ammi. She is alright now and I am very happy about it. But.." I stopped saying this much and started crying.

Ammi let go of me and wiping my tears asked me, "But what? Tell me."

While sobbing, I spoke up, "Ammi, she was looking at me like I was a total stranger to her. Ammi what if she gains her memory and forgets us? What will we do? How will we leave her, Ammi?"

Ammi tried to say something, "Roshni.." but cutting her off, I spoke up again, "And what if she hates me knowing all this? How will I be able to handle it, Ammi?"

Ammi spoke up holding my hand, "Roshni, you remember what I said to you? You won't be alone. I will be with you. If this really turns out to be like this, we will leave from here. You said this to me, right? Then we will do it. But the Titly we know, do you think will do it, Roshni?"

I kept staring at Ammi without uttering anything for some time then turned forward. We kept sitting there until Ruhaan came there and spoke up, “Is everything alright, Roshni?”

I just nodded at him and got inside the room with Ammi but Ruhaan uttered my name again. I turned to him and got outside of the room again as Ammi forwarded towards the couch.

Looking at me straight, Ruhaan asked, “What’s the matter, Roshni?”

I kept silent and he uttered again, “Roshni?”

I was thinking about what should I tell him but got interrupted as I heard my phone ringing. Thinking Titly’s sleep might get disturbed, I rushed to get my phone.

It was Heer. Taking my phone, I came outside again and answered the call only to hear her worried tone, “Api, where is Tithy and Aunty? I came to meet Tithy but the house is just locked up. But where could she go api this early? By any chance are they at your place, Api?”

I answered her normally, “We are at the hospital, Heer.”

Hearing me, she uttered shockingly, “What? Is Tithy alright? What happened again, Api?”

Then I remembered, I had many things to tell her and spoke up, “Long story Heer. I will tell you later. And by the way, now she is fine. Don’t worry.”

She spoke up then, “Thanks to Allah. Which hospital are you in? I will be right there and I also have something to tell you.”

I gave her the address and she cut off the line. I was thinking of calling her again thinking how would she get here this time only to get stopped seeing outside as it was morning already.

After almost half an hour Heer came to the hospital. Titly was still sleeping.  After standing some time by the bed of her, Heer turned to me and spoke up, “I need to tell you something.”

Nodding at her, I came outside and she followed me. Turning to her, I spoke up, “What is it Heer?”

Heer uttered making a confused face, “Api, do you know Tamim Vai surrendered to police confessing his wrongdoings?”

I nodded at her and she asked me again, “What about the last one who surrendered? You know about him too?”

Nodding at her, I spoke up this time, “He was not involved, Heer. He did it while blaming himself. He is innocent. ”

But interrupting me, she spoke up, “No Api. I don't think he is innocent rather he was involved with those incidents all that time.”

Being confused, I asked her, “What do you mean?”

“I have seen him with that person who was following me and Titly several times. When I told Tamim vai about that, I don’t know what he told that person but he stopped following us.”

Being all confused and shocked, I asked her again, “You mean you have seen Shaan with that person who was harassing you and Titly?”

Before Heer could say something, we heard Ruhaan uttering, “What did you say about Shaan?” as he got near us....
