Chapter 21: Chapter 21

Pamela felt like she would fly. After two months since her babies were brought out of her belly, they were placed in the incubator.

Though she doesn't stay in the hospital, the nannies take turns to stay in the hospital at such periods. If there's anything, they would call Clarion Johnson.

But her babies were fine and they were being discharged. Four nannies were carrying the child each and Pamela walked in front of them, holding hands with her grandmother.

As they approached the car, the bodyguards filed up in two rows. Pamela and her grandmother walked through the midst of them and each of the bodyguards bowed their heads before them.

As Clarion Johnson was about to slide into the car, she let go of her granddaughter's hand. Pamela waited until the babies were carried gently into the finest most expensive car Lamborghini Sian.

Clarion Johnson had ordered for the car and waited for it to be used in taking the quadruple home when discharged. Seeing they had all settled in, she slid into the latest brand of Bugatti Chiron.

That's her car. Her grandma gifted it to her on her birthday two months ago which happened to be the first birthday as a daughter of the royal family in Middletown City.

As she sat quietly in the car, she sighed. Fate had taken a sudden twist in her life and like a dreamer, she hasn't been able to comprehend how things can turn around for her in a day.

She had felt heartbroken and sobbed after Louis forced her to have an abortion. She walked lonely on the strength and eventually sat under a tree.

Fed up with life and the turn of situations in her life. She sobbed until she slept off. It was dark when she suddenly felt someone was carrying her, lifting her gently.

She was tired and had no strength to protest or ask who the person was. At the least, it would be Louis, his inhumanness might have made him have a rethink and he came to find her.

She didn't know what happened next except that she woke up in the plane. She initially didn't know it was an aeroplane, a private jet to be precise until she saw through the windows that they were in space.

Surprised, she concluded that Louis' parents had probably found her and were helping her escape from the evil clutches of their son.

But then, she saw the unfamiliar faces of the people around her and wanted to scream when she saw the older woman among the people around her smile through her tears.

She felt as if the woman was someone she knew. But then she hadn't met her before. Confused, she asked "who are you and how did I get here?"

"Don't be scared, my child. You are finally going to be home" Clarion Johnson had said. She placed her hand on Pamela's head and caressed her hair gently.

Her touch was gentle. She looked like a mother but she obviously was looking old to be her mother except she's a grandma.

"Home? What do you mean?" Pamela asked, looking frightened and subconsciously touching her belly.

"Yes, home. My dear granddaughter. Your father is home, waiting to welcome you" Clarion Johnson chimed.

Pamela gazed turned hostile. She doesn't understand the nonsense the older woman was uttering. She backed away and would have taken to her heels if it wasn't for the fact that she was in the jet.

"Pamela, have you thought of a suitable name for the babies?"Clarion Johnson asked, interrupting Pamela's thought. She had been thinking of a name for the babies for the past two months.

"Yeah...sure..no, not yet" Pamela stammered, confused. She wasn't expecting her grandma to interrupt her thoughts. She was caught off guard and didn't have her words coordinated.

"Are you alright Pam?" Clarion Johnson asked. She had been placing a close attention on Pamela these past few days and realised that she was sometimes lost in thoughts.

What is bothering her? Why can't she share her pains, fear or whatever is bothering her. She might not have been raised by her, but she didn't love her less now that they found each other.

"I am fine grandma. I was wondering how my life would have been if you and Grandpa didn't come to me the time you did" Pamela, her eyes getting teary.

Clarion Johnson went teary as well. She pulled Pamela and hugged her. She didn't know if she was going to be happy as well if she didn't find Alice's daughter and bring her home.

"I'm glad we found you. You brought sunshine into our damn life and now, we are budding like flowers in the blooming season" Clarion Johnson chimed.

"Thank you Grandma,"Pamela said.

Louis walked out of the Hayden's Mansion in heavy footsteps. He was excited a while ago when he came, happy that things would be alright between himself and his mum.

But walking out now, he staggered like a drunken man. But indeed he was drunk. Being drunk does not necessarily have to do with alcoholism sometimes, it has a lot to do with one's sanity.

Louis Hayden has probably lost a part of his senses when he acted stupid. But after hearing his mother's words, his brain had been formatted and like a microchip, it has gotten more senses connected with it.

These new senses had not fully filled into his brain when his mother asked him to leave. He needs sometimes to be alone by himself and think of his unguided decisions and acts.

No wonder he was staggering. His chauffeur got out and went to give him a hand. Louis didn't go home, but told the chauffeur to drive him to the cemetery.

He was quiet the entire way to the cemetery. He went to the empty tomb and knelt by it. He didn't find his voice to utter anything but just remained there for a long time.

"I'm sorry for hurting you this much. I don't deserve a second chance from you but all I ask is that you forgive me and I hope your mother does the same wherever she is.

Please forgive me. I want you to Forgive me first before anyone else because it's you I hurt the most. I didn't let you have the chance to live and feel the breath of this world…" Louis pleaded in a tone that was like a whisper.

From that day forward, Louis' perspective about life took a different turn. His employees could testify to the fact that his administration has improved.

He doesn't take a one sided decision over anything and everything that concerns the company. His shareholders now see themselves as important when he made them part of the deciding committee of the company.

Romeo was not only his assistant, he had gradually grown to become Louis Hayden's friend. As months passed, his company was gaining more horizons and expanding as well.

Tarvan Johnson was Pamela's grandfather. He looks tall with a heavy body built. He and Clarion were Alice's parents. Alice was Pamela's mother.

Tarvan Johnson is the crowned prince of Middletown City. The Royal family of Middletown were one of the prestigious families in that City. They were not ruled by a monarch but the royalty still remains with the family.

Tarvan Johnson would be the next King when his aged father, Jimmy Johnson the king passed away. But in the meantime, he is the crowned prince.

They owned one third of the city's investment. The President of the City pays homage to Jimmy Johnson being the king. The King may not be ruling directly, but no decision concerning the city can be taken without his consent.

Being the next King and the crown prince, Tarvan and his wife Clarion lived in the palace. The palace was wide and big to house ten families with ten members in each family and they wouldn't cross paths with each other in months.

That's where Alice had grown up. She was the pride of the palace and the Jewel to her grandfather Jimmy.

She would have forever remained so precious to her family but she lost it when she fell in love with one of the palace steward.

Her parents had betrothed her to the prince of another kingdom. A union they had thought would increase their solidarity to each other and strengthen the bond of their partnership and friendship.

Alice ruined her parents dreams and ambition when she became pregnant for her lover. The Royal family couldn't take the humiliation and asked her to choose out of the two options of remaining a princess, but aborting the unwanted pregnancy.

Or keep the pregnancy and suffer being disowned by the royal family. They thought she would think twice and go for the latter option but no, Alice chose to lose her family and be with her lover.

The steward was fired and jailed for trespassing in the line of his duty. He was accused of enticing the princess and making her fall in love with him.

Alice was disowned and left the palace. After much pleading from Clarion, Linus the steward was freed and they got married secretly before they left Middletown City.

That was the end of Alice in the Royal family. No one knew a thing about her until a few years later, when the Royal family got to know that Linus died in a car accident a few months after he returned to Oak City.

The pain of losing her husband was too much for Alice and she went into premature labour. She had the baby but died a few hours later.

No one knew her or where she came from. Her corpse was unclaimed for a few days after being embalmed. The hospital took the baby to the orphanage and her corpse was buried by the government of the City.

That baby was later adopted by a couple. That baby back then was Pamela Grayson. The Royal family felt pathetic for the estranged daughter and decided to find the Royal daughter and bring her home.

Jimmy Johnson was unhappy that his granddaughter suffered so much humiliation. He regretted their actions. He said perhaps if they had helped the two lovers they might not have died in such a horrible way.

All they needed was to put their pride aside and be more concerned about their daughter's happiness. For that reason, they would get Alice's daughter home and give her the right and position of her mother.

Clarion Johnson came along with her delegates to find Alice's daughter. It took a few days and they found out who she was. That was how Pamela got her newest title Princess Pamela Johnson.
