Chapter 83: Chapter 83
Alyana placed the box before Pamela. "Everything that grand nanny wants you to know is in there" She said and stepped backwards.
"You mean, you travelled all the way from Middletown City with my grandma just to give me this?" Pamela asked, wondering how much inconvenience she had put herself through to come over.
"Yes, princess. I promised grandnanny to personally deliver it to you. Please accept it so that I can return to the palace" Alyana declared.
Pamela nodded and glared at the box. She said "Thank you I will book a flight to take you back to Middletown City tomorrow"
"Thank you, my lady. And I wish for the safe delivery of the new prince" Alyana declared and bowed slightly before the princess.
Pamela's eyes went teary. How she wishes Alyana can remain and be her grandma's personal maid. But she insisted that the King might be displeased with her.
She nodded and told Alyana she could go to bed. Next morning, she should get ready for the first flight.
Pamela decided to call Alice back and ask her how she resolved everything with Lucas and how he fixed it like he said.
She called Alice twice and the phone was not answered. Of course she couldn't answer because her phone was in the sitting room while she was with Lucas in the bedroom, plunging each other hard.
Pamela thought of calling Lucas but she suddenly paused and squinted her eyes. She chuckled and smiled. He probably was fixing her at that moment.
Pamela decided to open the box. It seems it has been locked for a very long time. It's an old model box. It probably existed before she was born.
Eventually she forced it open. It looked dusty within. She carefully brought out the things in them and the first thing she got was an album.
She opened it and saw her parents' wedding picture. What, they were married? Her parents were really married, she had always thought that she was born on the other side of the blanket.
She looked intently and saw the beautiful woman who conceived and birthed her. There are a few similarities between them. She indeed took after her mother facially.
But the man, her attention was drawn to him. The face seemed a little familiar to her. She heard he died before she was born.
She saw several other pictures of her parents together. In the palace and outside of it. They seemed to be so much in love.
She glanced at them and caressed the picture. Her tears dropped on the picture. She sniffled and held the album close to her chest, her parents.
Her dear parents. They both left her and went to the land of brightness. They are happy together now, they are fine. Oh her dear parents.
Pamela sobbed. She glanced further and what she saw was a box filled with gold, silver and a few diamonds. Sparkling diamonds.
"Ahh my days!" Pamela exclaimed. She had never seen a collection of treasure like she was staring at the moment.
She wanted to place the album aside and she saw a folded sheet of paper. She glanced at it and saw the name Linus Freeman.
Pamela was still. Linus Freeman? Isn't that Freya Grayson's elder brother's name? She once discussed with Greg that if Linus hadn't died, their lives would have been better.
She took the photo album again and glanced at the picture again. He looked younger but bears a resemblance with her uncle Greg.
She doesn't understand. Something isn't right. She slammed the box shut and went to find her grandma. Clarion had shut her eyes and dozed off when Pamela walked in.
"Grandma, sorry to wake you up. I just needed you to confirm something for me" Pamela asked, shivering and agitating.
Clarion sat up and robbed her eyes. What does Pamela want that she cannot wait until the next morning? Why is she shivering like someone catching a cold?
She's pregnant. Pregnancy can make women change mood and act irrationally. Whatever it is, she still just answer her question.
"My father was a steward in Middletown City palace when he fell in love with my Mom, right?" Pamela asked.
"Yes, is there a problem?" Clarion asked, squinting her eyes.
"No grandma, not a problem. It's mere clarification. He was Linus Freeman. He is a citizen of Oak city right?" Pamela asked further.
"That's also true,"Clarion answered.
"He was married to my Mom,the princess and died in an accident while my Mom was pregnant with me. They were on their way back to this city, right?" Pamela asked.
Clarion sighed. "Yes,they got married," I later learned. And he died in an accident while Alice was alive and heavy with you, that I also heard. And I think they were coming over here then.
But tell me something Pamela, why are you asking me such a question? What happened? Are you worried about something?" Clarion demanded.
"I haven't confirmed it, but I guess my foster mom is my dad's sister. I haven't confirmed it, but I will do so tonight except I am not Alice Johnson's daughter" Pamela declared and dashed out.
Clarion was lost.
The next thing she heard was a car driving out of the Mansion. Clarion stood up quickly and looked through the window.
Where is Pamela going so late? Couldn't she wait until the next day? Does she have to go today by all means?
Pamela drove in the dark heading towards uncle Greg's place. She must find the answers that she sought.
Her tears were coming down. When will this sobbing stop? When will she have reasons to never sob again. She is tired of sobbing, it's too much for her to bear.
She arrived at uncle Greg's apartment. She knocked and soon, the door opened and Greg Freeman stood before Pamela with a guilty heart.
Pamela didn't wait to be told, she walked in and She saw her mother and sister sitting and watching a movie.
When Freya saw Pamela, she sprang up on her feet and came closer. She glanced at her, she's heavy. Pamela was really pregnant despite the several scandals flying around about her?
"Pamela," she said and hugged her. Pamela glared at her and then at her uncle. She doesn't know what to say or how to begin the reason why she came to see them at such an odd hour.
Are these two the only family she's got? Are they her dad's siblings? Did she grow around her family members and she didn't realise it?
