Chapter 76: Chapter 76
He arrived as early as he could, to share breakfast with his parents. He sighted his mom first and went to her, hugging her.
"You know I missed you a lot, right?" Leah declared, glad that Louis had forgotten about their last grievances. She's glad he didn't put it to heart again.
"I missed you more, mom," Louis said, kissing her temple. He looked past his mother to the dinning before asking "where is dad?"
"He's upstairs," Leah replied. She cannot tell Louis that his dad was mad with her. He cannot find it in his heart to forgive her for taking the annex company away from Pamela.
"Louis" Ellis Hayden called, standing at the top stairs and trying to descend down from it. The smiling joyfulness that he's fond of when he sees his son is no longer there.
"Good morning, dad" Louis said, coming over to meet his dad at the penultimate stair and hugged him.
"How have you been?" Ellis said, forcing a smile. He missed his son but he missed Pamela and the grandchildren the most.
"I'm fine, dad," Louis answered.
The family of three came over for dinner. Louis waited, maybe his parents were going to ask after his wife, and the baby in her belly but they didn't.
"You look more handsome than the last time I saw you, son," Ellis complimented. Louis' handsomeness was such that every woman and man, as well, was attracted to him.
Louis smiled and appreciated his dad. When the breakfast was over, and his parents didn't say anything about his wife nor did they congratulate him on his wedding, he knew they were really mad at him.
"Dad, Mom can I speak with you both?" Louis began, glancing from one of his parents to the other. They both nodded, giving him their full attention.
"I knew I was wrong when I got married to Miranda Alvan in Turkey. I was wrong not to seek your consent and your blessings. I was wrong to neglect you in my decision making and I am sorry.
I decided that we should be married. Miranda doesn't want to have the baby out of wedlock and she doesn't want the baby bumps to have grown too big before getting married.
We had to tie the knot over there. But why are you not happy for me? I'm going to be a father and you're both going to be grandparents. What on earth is wrong in being married?
None of you wished me a happy Married life. Miranda will be having our baby soon. Are you still going to ignore my wife and baby because you are unhappy with my marriage?" Louis asked, staring at his parents helplessly.
"I never had a problem with your relationship. When I heard about your proposal to the woman you loved the most in this life, I was happy, it went viral.
But things changed when you lost your memories. Miranda Alvan is not the woman you publicly propose to nor the one you are in love with.
She's your mother's choice. She laid the foundation of your relationship with her. And getting married to such a woman doesn't interest me.
I already have grandchildren. Miranda's child is not welcome here. I don't want that woman and her child in my home. Stay with her and your mom who merged you both together.
But don't torture Pamela anymore. Don't ruin her more than you've done. Tell that miserable wife of yours that the scandal she spent so much to publicise had been brought down.
If she dares it again, I will destroy her. Did you hear me, Louis? Take a look at that picture, that's my grandchildren and I don't need any from that filthy woman you married" Ellis declared, slammed his fist on the table and stood up, and walked out briskly.
Louis was dazed. He glanced at the picture hung on the wall and saw himself surrounded by four kids and they're happy.
He was shocked. These children! He remembered them that day, when he came to find his parents and the little girl called him "daddy"
Then the boys were standing some distance away and staring at him. He remembered it perfectly well and glared at the picture with full concentration.
He carefully turned and glanced at his mom, and the latter nodded, with moist eyes. If she gets the chance to correct her mistakes, she would readily grab it.
Pamela? Was the proposal he saw on social media actually real? Did he really propose marriage to that woman? What on earth is happening?
Who is Miranda Alvan to him then? How did he end up with her and she called herself his fiance. She even told him that day that these kids were orphaned from motherless children's homes.
In the Hayden's cooperation, Ellis instructed Romeo to send invitations to those that would attend the launching of the new project.
The beach house village project was completed and it needed to be commissioned. Since Louis was back, they could do it before his miserable wife would advise him to travel again.
It's his project and he needed to be present. Romeo nodded and asked if Mr Ellis had a list of people to be present.
"I want a few important dignitaries. You know Louis' condition already, we'll make a broadcast if need be and make it go on a live streaming.
Maybe 20 people at most and one of the people that should be made to sit as special invitees should be Dr Pamela Grayson" Ellis declared.
"Alright sir" Romeo said with a nod and turned to go when Ellis asked "How's Pamela and the kids doing?" He asked. He had assigned Romeo to always watch after her and bring him words again.
He's glad she'd been able to overcome the trauma that Louis' Marriage caused her. He didn't go to find her again. She's no longer in the annex cooperation and he doesn't want to go to her Mansion.
He tried calling her and talking to her, but she shut herself away from them, from him to be precise. He really missed her and the kids.
"She and the Quadruplets are fine. And it will interest you to know sir, that Pamela is going to give you another grandson" Romeo announced, smiling broadly.
"What! Another grandson for me?" Ellis asked, his eyes light up with a smile.
