Hadn't she bargained for what she cannot buy? She had bitten more than she could chew. She glared at Miranda Alvan, this woman had possessed Louis.

Leah was furious and wanted to slap Miranda Alvan but the latter intercepted her hand and held it tight in mid air.

She bent her hand backwards suddenly and yelled into her ears "what were you thinking, are you crazy or you are being stupid?"

She threw her hand off violently and Leah almost tripped over for lack of balance. Her hand pained her and she glared at Miranda Alvan in dismay.

"Don't ever think of raising your hand on me next time. Because if you do, I will break your bones.

I will pretend that you didn't come here and didn't talk nonsense. If you turn around and leave. But if you try to ruin my relationship with your son, I will destroy you and turn Louis into a complete maniac. He will deteriorate and make him end up in a mental asylum.

I won't have him and you won't either. He will become useless to you, to himself and the world at large. I will make him have permanent brain damage and he will rot away.

So watch what you say or do about me and Louis' relationship. Remain calm and choose to know nothing about our love story or lose your son forever!" Miranda threatened.

Leah Hayden felt Goosebumps rise all over her body. She shivered in fear and glared at the woman before her. Her breathing was irregular and she was afraid of the unknown.

Louis is her only son. This woman was capable of doing that. She is definitely going to do that to Louis. How can she destroy her son this way?

"You are mean, Miranda Alvan. You are a terrible woman" Leah cursed.

"I wasn't usually like this, but I learnt it from you. Your brutality and ruthlessness helped you get what you want. So I learnt to handle this case the same way you did with Pamela and Romeo" She declared and raised her lips slightly in mockery.

Leah Hayden felt her throat dry. There is sense in Miranda's words. He had threatened to destroy Romeo if he said a word of anything to Ellis or Louis himself.

Now, Miranda Alvan is paying her back in her own coin. So what goes around, truly comes around.

"Karma will catch up with you, Miranda Alvan" Leah cursed, her eyes welled up with tears.

"If Karma does exist, it should have visited you already. But then, I will wait here for Karma. He will probably visit me, after you" Miranda Alvan mocked.

They heard footsteps descending the stairs and Leah looked over Miranda's shoulders. She saw her son, dressed in a designer suit.

His hair combed backwards and his fine temple was attractive and charming. His charming looks were capable of making any woman fall for him.

Then Miranda's threats were resounding in her ears like an echo. What will happen to her life if anything happens to Louis?

If he ends up in a mental asylum and wears long green clothes, laughing hysterically without anything amusing him, eating rotten food and sleeping in a mud, what will her life end up in?

Miranda saw Leah's gaze, staring at the man behind her. She doesn't need to turn to see who is there, she knows who her fiancé is.

She would put on an act. "Please mother, I don't want to abort this baby. Louis and I are happy to have him. For once, allow us to be happy…" she was sobbing.

Huh? Leah was dazed. She turned her gaze back on Miranda Alvan. She doesn't know what to say just at the moment as Louis glared at his mother.

Seeing Louis was standing, quiet and watching, Miranda Alvan continued "Louis and I would have been married, but you wouldn't let us be.

Now that we are expecting a baby, you are ordering me to go for an abortion. You even threaten to hurt me and the baby. Why are you doing this to us?

Give us this chance to be parents. We want to hold our baby in our arms. Please Mother" Miranda started sobbing, her tears running down her cheeks as she went on her knees and held Leah's legs.

It seemed like she was pleading and holding Leah's feet, but in the real sense she was poking Leah with her long nails and the latter jerked backwards immediately.

"Mom, what's going on? What is Miranda saying?" Louis demanded, raising Miranda up and kissing her temple.

"I don't understand what she's saying?" Leah replied, glaring at Miranda. What on earth is wrong with this witch? How can she be so full of schemes?

"Mom, just tell the truth. You said you are not ready for a grandchild and that Louis is too young to be a father" Miranda seethed and sniffled.

That infuriated Louis. How can his mother think he's still too young to be a father? He is gradually approaching thirty and he is still too young to be a father?

Romeo, his assistant, already has two kids. He is just a year older than him. He also wants to be a father. How can his mom deny him such great privilege?

"Shut the crap, Miranda" Leah blurted out. This scheming bitch would make her son think ill of her. If Louis believes her, how can she rebuffed it?

"Louis, don't you want this baby? It's our symbol of love and sticking together all these years. We've loved each other unreservedly. This is the only thing that matters to me now, our baby.

But your mom wouldn't let us be happy. She was against our happiness in the past. She wouldn't let us get married and now, expecting a baby, she orders me to have an abortion" Miranda Alvan accused Leah.

Louis felt as if he had experienced something similar to that. His mother had refused him from marrying Miranda. That scenario is familiar but he can't remember how it went exactly.

"No way, there isn't going to be an abortion. How can you even think like that mom? This is going to be my first child and you want Miranda to have an abortion?

What kind of a woman are you? I thought a woman with the heart of a mother will always love children and be excited whenever the news of a pregnancy reaches her ears.

Why is your own different? Why do you put up with attitudes that portrayed you as an evil woman? What Miranda said is true.

I perceived some familiarity in her words. You were resisting my marriage with her in the past and saying you won't let me marry her, right my love?" Louis asked, turning to glance at Miranda.

"Yes, she's the reason why we are not married yet. She said she doesn't want us to be together despite my pleas and your insistence, she wouldn't let us be happy" Miranda expounded.

Thank goodness that Pamela is not there. His past with Pamela is making things easy for her, working her desires to accomplishment.

It was he and Pamela but now, she had just used it to her advantage and Leah cannot say anything to it. She had threatened her to destroy her son. She would only play along with her for her son's good.

"Did you really try to resist my marriage to Miranda in the past?" Louis thundered. He glared at his mother now, fuming in rage.

"Y..es" Leah Hayden stuttered.
