Chapter 153: Chapter 153
It wasn't quite a few minutes, Fred Meyer stood on the podium and requested that everyone spare him a few minutes of their time. He confessed to be responsible for the scandal just as they already know.
He had only used the scandal to hurt Louis Hayden. No such thing has happened. The world of business is filled with competition and that led him to envy Louis, spreading such an untrue story about the two lovers.
He loves Dr Pamela but she loves Louis Hayden. He had viewed the latter as the obstacle to winning Pamela's love and attention.
He therefore apologised to the President of Hayden cooperation. He is absolutely shameless to have uttered such words against Dr Pamela, the princess of Middletown City.
He hopes they both can find a place in their hearts to bury the hatchet. And he hopes for a business bond and partnership with them soon.
There was murmuring among the crowd. Is this fellow insane? Was he threatened to say those words? What nonsense is he talking about?
He spoke negative words against President Hayden and Dr Pamela and even went ahead to produce a medical report about Louis Hayden. He now came over and said it was not true?
Did he think they are fools, they do not reason with their heads? The murmuring became louder and people began to throw questions at Fred Meyer.
"What about the medical report, was that also untrue?" One of the journalists asked and Fred Meyer felt his temple go blank. This press meeting would ruin his career forever.
"Yes. It's an untrue story and I made it up" Fred Meyer replied. He knew that sentence alone had destroyed the reputation of the Meyers business. The hospital whose address the report carries would come after him.
"You are a criminal then. You will be sued and requested to pay compensation" Another journalist commented. Others chorused it that he would be apprehended.
At that moment, Romeo was having every record of Louis Hayden deleted from the hospital's website. They would never find that record again and that tallied with his confession that he forged it.
Fred Meyer complexion had gone red in rage. His eyes were reddened and he couldn't believe the height of humiliation he just dragged himself into, thanks to Pamela.
"You are a fraud, Mr Meyer. Your company should be sent into extinction. An immature man like you that cannot handle a personal grudge against a partner and went this far to assassinate his character should be jailed…" A voice in the crowd yelled out.
Everyone immediately agreed to what that fellow said. They started cursing and saying horrible words to Fred Meyer.
The latter was sweating. His back was drenched in sweat. His temple went blank and all he could do was stare at the crowd in humiliation and complete confusion.
"That's enough" Pamela declared and shut down her phone. Fred Meyer had done what she wanted. She turned and glanced at Louis, his gaze was still on her.
"Louis, are you alright?" Pamela asked, smiling broadly at him. He was surprised that she got Fred where he couldn't escape. That's it, he who pelts others with pebbles asks for rocks in return.
Fred Meyer started the game and it eventually returned to him at the finishing line. For every poison, there must definitely be an antidote for it.
"You threatened him to swallow his vomit?" Louis asked and Pamela shrugged innocently as if she didn't know what he was talking about.
"This is your signature, Pamela. I can recognise it from a distance. What did you do to bring Fred Meyer to his knees?" Louis probed further.
"Nothing much. Just made him realise a hidden truth he hadn't known all his life: the identity of his real mother" Pamela declared flippantly.
Louis didn't say anything but pulled her closer to himself before asking "Back then, why didn't you say something when the news of my shameless union with Miranda Alvan broke out?
When everyone addresses you as a third wheel, why didn't you say something? Why didn't you provide evidence that you are the real woman that I loved, not Miranda Alvan and save yourself from that scandal?" Louis asked.
Everything is clear to him now. But it had always been clear to her all along. Why didn't she stand up to her defense, she is a powerful woman, she has a name and a strong background.
Why was she quiet, swallowing those bitter experiences all by herself while Miranda Alvan was possessive of him, soul and body. That ugly past will forever haunt him.
"I was alone, Louis. You don't know me, no memory of us in your brain. I could fight Fred Meyer because you are with me, two good heads are better than one.
Your family was involved, especially your mother. The kids would be affected in the long run and I was pregnant with Ethan at the time. Everything was just complicated back then.
But more than these reasons, I love you very much Louis. I knew you would eventually come around, only that I don't know how soon.
And when you recover, you will come running back to me because I know that your heart is with me. And I am the only woman that you love.
I completely lost hope when you married her. When you tied the knot with that woman, I was sad because I felt I have lost you forever…" Pamela explained.
For a few seconds, they both stared at each other. Louis' gaze was on her eyes and then her lips, his Adam's apple rolled up and down and he swallowed hard, eagerly desiring to kiss her lips.
"Kiss me if you want to," Pamela declared . She saw the desire in his eyes to kiss her. The lust in him was too obvious to be denied.
As soon as the words left Pamela's lips, he crashed his lips on hers. He pulled her closer, kissing her sweetly and caressing her hair.
Pamela kissed him, circling her hands around his neck.
