Chapter 144: Chapter 144

How can he say "it's true?" How can he say it with his lips that he defiled the sacredness of marriage? How can he tell her that he shared his body with another woman other than her?

How can she believe that he still loves her? How can she believe that she and Louis matter most to him, that they come first in his heart and mind?

How can the bond between them ever remain firm, unwavering and steadfast? How can they live the rest of their lives in love and happiness?

How can they paddle through their old age in trust and absolute reliance? How can they say to their son and grandchildren that their marriage was impeccable? How can they?

"Say it, Ellis. What are you sorry about? Just say it, tell me and Louis that we are the only people in your life" she requested.

She turned around and saw Pamela seated "See our daughter, Pamela. She's Louis' fiancée. That's our grandchild right there, he's so cute and adorable like his dad.

Say that we are the only ones that matter to you. That Pamela and our grandchildren are our source of joy in our old age. Isn't it amazing to see the Quadruplets run around Hayden's Mansion and little Ethan being tattered and the noise of children giggling and laughing hysterically?

Ellis please, don't say anything else besides telling us that she's not in any way important to you. She's not your mistress and you are not related to her children.

Don't break my heart Ellis. I won't survive it. I won't be able to breathe without you and I will die. Ellis says something…" Leah pleaded.

Her tears were cascading down her cheeks. Her eyes were red. Her words could melt the strongest of hearts and make it go emotional.

Louis for the moment, forgot what his Mom had done to him. He felt sorry for her. He could imagine what she was feeling at that moment.

If one day, he discovered that Pamela cheated on him in marriage and had two of their kids for another man, won't he go literally crazy?

Ellis closed his eyes and clasped his hands together "I'm sorry…I've hurt you honey. I'm sorry I betrayed you…I cheated…the kids are m.i..n.e" he stuttered.

Leah's hands were suspended. She suddenly stopped sobbing, her tears that were running down her cheeks seemed to have heard Ellis' words and it paused.

She gently let go of Ellis' shirt and staggered backwards. She kept walking with her back that Louis was afraid she would stumble.

He went to her and held her in a firm embrace from the back. Leah held Louis' arm firmly. Her complexion had gone ashen.

She was trembling. Louis could feel her shivers and her dress seemed drenched in sweat. She didn't for once take her eyes away from her husband.

Ellis cheated? He had kids with his mistress? He had kept such a secret away from her all these years? And she had shown him nothing else other than love.

"Louis" she stuttered and glanced up at her son "Am I dreaming? Is your dad saying the truth? Tell me it's a dream and then wake me up from it" Leah requested.

"I'm sorry that it came to you as a shock. I've known about it for a while now…"Louis was saying when Leah blurted out "You knew about your father's unfaithfulness and kept it away from me?"

How can her son have done that to her? She's betrayed by her husband and her son watched her living in a fool's paradise and didn't draw her attention to reality.

"What difference would it have made? Now the imbeciles and their loose casual mother have brought their miserable selves here" Louis explained.

Leah started sobbing loudly. She placed her hand on her chest and was breathing hard.

"Ellis, why did you slit my throat without my blood dripping? How did you do it? Why did you poke me, right into my heart, where it beats? How can you do this, Ellis? How can you hurt me this way?

I have only loved you and you backstabbed me like this? Remember how we promised to love each other alone, forever?

That day, when we made love for the first time, the same day you took my virginity. We promised to give our bodies to each other alone.

But you went back on your words. You break my heart and it didn't just start today, you've been cheating for many years.

But it's okay. You've made your choice. I didn't know before, but I do now. And because I have discovered your unfaithfulness, I will let go so that you can be with her.

I don't know what Louis' decision will be, but I feel he loves you more than he loves me hence he knew and supported you. I don't care about you and him anymore.

Go to your mistress. Be happy for the rest of your life. I can't trust you anymore, I can't keep living like a fool even after knowing you are a chameleon, a two faced man…" Leah declared and turned to glare at Celina Delmark.

The latter looked away in shame. She cannot meet her gaze. She suddenly became afraid of Leah. She and her kids are now going to have difficult days ahead.

"Take him. He's all yours now. He prefers you since you gave him two kids. You gave him what I couldn't, you own him. Take him but never bring your face before me ever again!!" Leah declared.

"Honey please, l would never prefer anyone to you" Elli pleaded and went to hold Leah but the latter shoved his hands off.

"I am not your honey!!! And don't ever touch me again!" Leah warmed and glared at Ellis with pure contempt and hatred.

She once loved him. But what she felt at that moment was hatred and a desire to shoot a bullet into his cheating skull.

Ellis was quiet. The best time to talk to her and apologise is not the moment. She would have to calm down first and when her temper is no longer high, he would ask that she forgives him.

She turned and glared at her son and asked "Are you really my son? Did I carry you in my belly for nine months and give birth to you or did someone exchange my baby with one of Ellis' numerous babies from his numerous women?"

Louis pouted his lips. Who will be able to answer that question for him?
