Chapter 129: Chapter 129
Same night in Louis Hayden's Mansion, he couldn't sleep, he was in his wine cellar and getting drunk. He felt like a complete failure.
Though successful in business, financially, popularity and fame, he is a total failure in relationships and family wise.
The only woman he had ever loved, he couldn't keep. His kids, he can't live with them. He found himself in a big dilemma and now, she slipped off his hands and he stood watching, unable to do anything to stop her
His life is empty. He loves Pamela but she'd left him. It's not easy for him to accept the fact that he lost his woman to another man.
Pamela should believe him when he said he was sorry. He didn't mean to hurt her this way. If his mother hadn't ruined everything for him, maybe things wouldn't have taken this turn.
"I'm sorry, Pamela," he mumbled. How he wishes things can return to the way it used to be. Nothing matters to him anymore besides Pamela and the kids.
He gulped an entire bottle of liquor. He was feeling tipsy and he took his phone, he dialed Pamela's number but she wouldn't answer her phone.
"I'm sorry my love" he texted but didn't get a response. He shrugged , it has been that way for a while now. He'll call, but she wouldn't answer, he would text and he wouldn't get a response. He staggered into his bedroom and laid flat on it. He loves her, but he lost her.
Pamela received Louis' text and she sighed softly "I love you too honey" she said quietly within her. She loves him as much as he does towards her.
Next morning, Leah Hayden arrived at Pamela's Mansion. She was told Pamela and her grandma are not home. It's best she checks back later.
Clarion had recovered overnight and that morning, she sat up and was quiet for a long time. She remembered the last words Pamela said to her before she passed out to blackness.
"Pamela" Clarion called and said with teary eyes "Where is my daughter, where is Alice now?" She demanded.
Pamela sighed softly and stepped out. Clarion kept her gaze on the door. It slowly opened and a certain person peeped in first before carefully walking in.
Clarion glared at her daughter. Is she really Alice? The same face, looks and body figure. The same eyes as hers but the difference between this Alice and the Alice of many years ago is the maturity in appearance.
The little princess that runs around the royal house. That goes in and out of the royal court with her grandfather Jimmy, who grew into a beautiful young woman; the priceless pearl of the Palace is now standing before her.
She never thought she would set her eyes on Alice again in this life. She had been looking forward to seeing her in the world beyond and telling her how much she loves her.
She had thought her body had decayed many years ago. Her bones are purifying. Her skeleton is no longer recognizable, but alas, it's something entirely different.
How can a daughter still be alive and never cared about her mother for many years? Is it that she doesn't love her or she held a grudge in her heart against her?
She had sobbed for many years. She had searched for her grave and never found it. Once she wanted to believe that she was still alive but Pamela waved it off, she said it's not possible for her mother to still be alive.
But here she is, sobbing and staring at her. What will she say to her, is it welcome back or happy resurrection from the dead? She is short of words, she really does not know what to say to Alice.
What is her sin that Alice couldn't forgive her? Why couldn't her daughter find a place in her heart to forgive her shortcomings?
She didn't stand up for her when she became pregnant with Linus' baby? She watched her sent away from her father's royal family without doing anything about it.
What can she do, what is in her power to do? She's powerless against the royal family to stop them from taking decisions, Alice was a princess and there's little or nothing she can do about it.
But she had hoped that she would go and find her daughter when she had her baby. But that never happened. Why did she decide to punish her all these years by making her mourn her death and blaming Tarvan for her death, a death that never was?
"Mother, I'm sorry. I'm here now. I won't ever leave you" Susana pleaded. She started sobbing. She dreaded this day for a long time, for many years she envisaged what it would look like.
Outside the ward, Pamela was communicating with her grandpa "... you need to come around grandpa. Grandma is in the hospital but more than that, you will experience the biggest shock of your life…" Pamela stuttered.
"What happened to the queen? Is she alright?"Tarvan asked. He had already gotten a lawyer to carry out the divorce procedure.
But he cannot stand it if anything happens to her. What surprise is Pamela talking about?
"I meant it grandfather. Grandma is in the hospital because of the shock. I want you to come around and find out what the surprise is.." Pamela chimed.
Now, she's happy. Her grandparents will not be getting divorced anymore. Since their daughter is now back from the dead, they would reconcile.
"Oh so that the same surprise will give me a shock that would make me be hospitalised just like your grandma, right?" King Tarvan teased.
Both he and his granddaughter laughed. But he told her he would visit the queen later that day, but first he's got an appointment with someone.
When King Tarvan arrived at the registry, he saw Louis Hayden stepping out of the registry. The two men glared at each other and Louis bowed slightly.
"Louis" Tarvan called. What is he doing at the registry? He wanted to know when he saw a woman in handcuff and prison wear, being escorted out.
When he saw her, he recognised her. She was the woman Louis was married to. But now, she looked disgusting and dirty, her hair ruffled and she was being led away by prison officers.
Louis had nothing to say to King Tarvan as he started walking towards his car. He slid in and his chauffeur drove off. But while in the car, he wondered what his highness came to the marriage registry for.
But he ensured that Miranda Alvan didn't get the divorce certificate. What does she need it for, being in jail? Only he needs it in future.
Twice in his life, he'd been married and twice he'd been divorced. He divorced the woman he later grew to love and cherished. But his second divorce was with a woman he would forever detest and despise.
The past is gone. He had waited for the divorce to be through before asking Pamela to marry him again but then, she'd gotten another man.
He still loves her. But looks like he had been jinxed not to be married. He would let her be. If they are meant to be together, then one day they would be happy together with their kids.
Miranda Alvan bit her lips hard until it began to bleed. She would never forgive and she would never forget. Louis Hayden wounded her too hard.
She had thought her daughter was safe with him, but didn't know he had given her daughter away to her ex husband. How can he do this to her?
She lost him, she lost her marriage, she lost her daughter, she lost her uterus and more than that, she lost her freedom as well. Everything is lost.
Eventually when she regains her freedom, where does she begin from? Louis had requested for her assets, income and everything to be confiscated and the court sustained it.
He's got a good lawyer and to wound her more, he terminated their partnership and claimed her share as compensation. She lost, but he gained.
He would have the love of his life back. Now, they've got five kids. It would be a family of seven, what a perfect number for a family.
He would pick the pieces of his life together and become whole again. But what about her, what would happen to her?
In her pain and disappointment, she cursed Leah Hayden silently. "May you suffer pain and humiliation like I did. May you know what shame is and have a full dose of it"
