After dinner when our parents had sat for a moment in front of the 43inch bruhm tv which was showing zee world precisely mehek

Suzy and i weren't interested in the drama instead while suzy wanted to watch maleficent, I was interested in going online, my wattsap, instagram and Facebook which I really wasn't a fan of were seriously drawing my patience which I used to sit down with our parents and watch the mehek with them.

After some minutes of suzy rolling her eyes real bad and I clicking my tongue which kinda distracted mum from what she was watching as she turned to me with a frown

" Bia nwata nka, ogini ? " she asked in igbo with a growl as I stuck my lower lips out making me look like a baby while giving her an apologetic look.mum softened at my face and I felt a smile crawl at the corner of my lips. She was going to turn her face away when I blurted

" mum...tomorrow I'll be going out by 10 am..." I said as she and dad had their attention faced at me

" you said???" Dad asked pretending not to hear me but this time suzy replied not without glaring at me

"Actually daddy....it's both Christy and I "she said

" ehn...to where Kwanu ?" Mum asked

"I have a Shakespeare assignment to work on and i don't know about christy" suzy said smirking at me and I eye her with the eyes of if-eyes-can-kill

" I.....I....have....to...go out to shola's house tomorrow for a group work " I say trying to find a better lie and mum rolls her eyes

"If they come to your house will they die?" She asked and I groaned

"But...shola's house have a wider space na " I whined as she looks at me sneering

"When tomorrow comes"she replied turning back to the tv and suzy slipped away immediately to the room. I was going to, when dad called

"Ehn..Christy bring me a glass of water" he says and I huff dragging my feet to get him the water

"My friend will you walk fast" he roared impatiently with my sluggish behaviour

"Yes dad "I reply reluctantly getting the water and handing it to him as i wait for him to finish drinking and handing me the cup...

" aren't you ready to go yet ?" I asked suzy who laid on the bed with her phone rolling lazily to and fro

" it's by 9o'clock sha " she replied typing something on her phone...

She had said earlier that Derek wanted to show her someplace before they go to the house party...but she still doesn't want to believe that he Just asked her out

" am coming back"I say leaving my clothes which i intended to fold on my bed as I walked off to drink water in the kitchen....

Opening the fridge I saw a pack of hollandia yoghurt...suddenly feeling the urge to have some, I pour myself a glass while heading to the sitting room. Dad was busy on his laptop while mum was looking outside the window absentmindly...I got curious immediately tiptoeing behind I as i take a glance at the window to see a black rav probably the latest model pulled up by our house and a handsome tall guy on Google glasses staring at his phone then at our house completely lost.

" ah... who is he looking for? " mum asked to no one in particular as I stared closer...then it hit me I quickly tiptoe back to my room hurriedly squealing as I barged the door open

"Derek....." I stopped midway taking the full view of suzy staring all dressed up in a white crop top that had little baggy hands that was almost a three-quarter hand and a deep blue jean over a pair of white sneakers.she had her natural hair packed in a nice up do and mini makeup....she looked really perfect

"Derek is here...is that what you wanted to squeal? "She asked sneering as I sigh

"Go..jare me I don't have your time "I said throwing her a pillow as she dodged it

"Abeg..ooh I have a makeover so it doesn't smear my makeup " she says smirking

"This your pancake caked face " i sneer

" it's better than yours "she replied grinning unexpectedly as I shook my head dropping my cup which i still had with me beside my bedstand before picking up my clothes to fold into the closet

" by the way, how do I look?"she asked as I chuckled

"Sometimes a girl gotta grow up "

"How do I look ?"

"For suzy to ask me this cause she's going out with a' handsome nerd ' obviously means she's growing " I say ignoring her as I quoted the handsome nerd with my arms. I watch with a smirk as her patience depleted making her huff as she grabbed her phone to storm out...

I was trailing behind her....with no reason why but I felt the need to as suzy had her hands on the door knob

" mum,dad...am off " she called

" my friend will you come back here..." mum said with a hiss as suzy murmured walking reluctantly to answer mum

"Yes mum"

"Where are you off to? " mum asked as suzy hangs her mouth slightly open in disbelief

" but yesterday I said I was going to my friends house on a Shakespeare rehearsal" she whined

"Ehnn? Dressed like this? "Mum asked pointing at suzy's dressing

" mum you don't expect me to dress like a slug to go out..."suzy wailed

"And you don't expect me to believe that you're going to a guy's house for some other event..except your idea of rehearsals is the out of the world version?" Mum asked peering at suzy as I chuckled while suzy stutters

" I....I.....okay mum, the truth is I'm actually going for a house party with my friend "

" by this time? Who throws a party by 9:30 am?" Mum asked raising her eyebrows at suzy who groaned in frustration

" urgghh...mum! "Suzy huffed paranoid

" don't you dare answer me with that tone young lady..." mum growled

" fine....we are going to see a movie first" she said surrendering to mum

" with the guy over there? " mum asked pointing at the car outside the house which wasn't ours cause ours was always packed in the garage...she pointed Derek who occasionally kept checking his phone

" obviously mum! "Suzy huffed looking at me with a pleading look as if to ask why mum is suddenly being too nosy.I shrugged at her gesturing to her to beckon dad to let her go.she looked away to mum who was busy lecturing how girls these days should be careful of how they move about..suzy rolls her eyes boring it into mum's who refused to be bothered by her pleading gaze as she continues. This time suzy uses my advice

" Dad please...." she begs as dad glares at her

" you listen to what your mum is saying first will you ?"he says as suzy hangs her shoulders in disappointment suddenly mum's phone rings as she answers it

".....hello mummy tunde...yes.....now? ....okay....I'll be there....alright take care" she drops the phone

" I'll be going for C.W.O meeting now" mum announces

"Thank God!"suzy yells earning a glare from both dad and mum

"And..you better be careful Susanne!"mum warned walking off to peck dad on his cheeks as he grinned. I wondered how mum still had an effect on him after 18 years of marriage and probably 2years of dating...I knew cause she told me every time she had time to spare when talking about her university days

" thanks mum "suzy said turning the door knob before suddenly realizing that she forgot her clutch purse.she dashed into the room to pick it up

"Guess that delay was worth it" I say sitting on the bed with a snack 'munch it ' on my hands

"So much for the advice girl " she whines as I chuckled

"At least I tried" I say shrugging

"Well...well...how do I look ?" She asked as her gaze bored into my pleading a please- reply- dear as I nod smiling. She quickly opens the door to run out

" hey! I never replied"

"You don't need to...I already know from your expression "

"Whatever....I was gonna tell you that you look a mess "I said scoffing as she stopped dead in her tracks

"Be serious Christy!"

" seriously...you look beautiful honey" I say smiling as she returned my smile

" did it have to take you forever " she said with a wide smile as she waved at me blowing me a kiss

" see ya "

"Enjoy your day hun "

"Sure"

" And remember to be careful " I say and i could bet she had rolled her eyes at me before waving back. I watched her go over to derek as they had a slight conversation before getting into the car and finally it driving off

" what makes you think mum would let you out ? "

" dorrh....suzy went out and come to think of it am older than her "

" you dimwit....you could have said something better"

" fine...mum's not even around "

"Urgghh....then try your luck with dad"

"Of course I will " I sneered

This was me debating with my subconscious if mum or dad will let me go out.I groaned within myself

I mean the whole point of telling mum and dad this before hand was because of I wanted to avoid too much drama and talks but here I am seeking ways on how to go outing with shola and bubbie.

I walked out of the house already ordering an uber to pick me up so we could go to spar where my friends already texted me that they were waiting

" and you where to ?" Dad asked

" to shola's house "

" right....did you do all that you were supposed to do? " dad asked looking for better ways to delay me

What was I supposed to do? Sweep the house, make breakfast, and lazy around till now

" yes dad I finished everything " I replied

" okay then, come back before your curfew alright "

" Sure dad.....and you sound like mum" I said laughing as he chuckled

" isn't it sweet ?" He replied

I rolled my eyes " bye dad " I said blowing him a kiss.before entering the uber which was already waiting up for me

" my goodness Christy!!! What kept you so long ?" Shola exclaims as we pulled away from the hug

" my really awesome parents " I say with sarcasm laced in my voice as I noticed the really good number of people with bubbie who seemed busy talking to some random guy

"And who the hell are these guys " I asked

" our school mates and some of bubbie's random friends "

"But I thought it was just the three of us "

" it was supposed to be but mehnn .. we just had to call some other people along " shola said and I scratched my forehead muttering

" oh shola! "

"C'mon lemme introduce you to the Israelites " she said tugging at my hands as my expression grew suprised Israelites? Really??

"Hey guys look who decided to show up finally "she says as everyone cooed "hi...hello....wassup..what took you so long ?" I greeted back with a smile glancing at every single soul who turned up for the outing and it turned out that we had

Obi, Deborah, kemi, bubbie, shola, ayola, banky...bubbie's friend who had brought them to the mall and finally Chris. I send him a small smile exclaiming to shola

" this is truly an Israelite gang " I say as she burst out laughing

" who needs to be free from the pharaohs of school and house chores " kemi says as we all laughed

"Unfortunately....I am no moses " obi exclaims as we roared into laughter again causing us stares from passer bys

" we never even had a moses but at least we can still be saved " Deborah says as we all agree

"And so...based on that spirit who wants to take a selfies " bubbie squeals bringing out her phone immediately to take countless pictures of all of us.

" The fuck !" Someone exclaims as i turn sharply just in time to catch chris with a scowl on his face looking at another direction. I cleared my throat

" ahem..some people should seriously be mindful of the ' f ' word " I say as chris cocked his eyebrows

" as if " he growls

"Am serious about it "I warn

" whatever Tiana "he says shrugging "besides the 'f' word has so many meaning

" And...that includes??? "

F as in friendly

F as in friday and finally

F as in fuck " he replied smirking as my ears twitched hearing him use the swear word

" did you have to say the last one ?"I asked throwing him a punch as he grinned

" depending on what you wish to have" he shrugged with a smirk as I rolled my eyes

" funny slash fun friendly freaking friday and I'll skip the last one " I say trying to put the words together

" your choice bae.." he said winking

" I want to have the F as in fun today" I say

" nice...try tiana "he says smirking at me with a wink which made him look hot....I wondered how I disliked someone as crazily hot as the guy standing beside me giving me those killer smiles and winks...

I suddenly had a new feeling that every time i had with him wasn't a waste but it was my best moments and somehow I just can't wait for what the future holds....it makes me curious to wonder

" would you two keep aside your new heartstrings feeling and come join the fun of playing snookers " shola said mischeviously adding a wink while kemi cheered

" that's the pixie's dust of love sprayed on them...."she added bursting into laughter as the rest of us snorted

" where the heck did you get this bladderdash talk from ?" Obi scowled at kemi who was wipping tears of laughter from her eyes

" are you that pre-historic?" Kemi asked scoffing " no one says bladderdash anymore "

"Whatever miss blogger " shola intervenes

" why are we playing snookers instead of balling ?"banky whines

" don't worry we got all day " ayola replies

" of course and who's ready to try the kimchi dish" shola asks with a wide smile on her lips as we all hurriedly forgot about snookers

It was spicy and nice..infact a good Asian dish we got to tryout today and i must confess....I enjoyed it and now it was time for ice creams and pizzas...

After that we had gone to see a movie chatting noisily all along about random issues and then we went to the port-Harcourt pleasure park swinging around in a merry go round and riding horses and fake bulls while playing the game of shoo out before finally finding ourselves in a karaoke

We were really screaming on top our voices as we sang happily

" guys let's sing one after the other " banky suggested

"Count me off I can't sing " kemi replied

"But you can talk ?"ayola asked. He had been getting on kemi's nerves at least that's what she claimed while everyone of us had a feeling that he liked her and as a matter of fact bubbie had the decency to bring only the handsome guys on our outing

" where's the relationship? "Kemi asked sneering

"You just sang now and if you have voice to talk then you also can sing "

"If you finish motivating yourself you pass "kemi replied scoffing

" kemi nau" I whined

"You guys want to laugh at me "

"It doesn't matter"

"Okay na lemme show you what I'm made of "she started as we cheered

"Go kemi...go kemi..."we chanted as she picked up the microphone to start singing tiwa savages song ' all over ' her voice wasn't even as bad as she made it sound as we all joined in the chorus

These feelings make me falling ooh all over all over 🎵 🎵

We all sang in group at the karaoke shouting on top of our voices as we sang , laughed, fought, danced, it was a day to always remember that i had friends around me and God willing we all would finish in one piece and still forever keep in touch
