Chapter 69: Chapter 69

"Drishti. Are you ready yet?" Shravan called out loudly for his wife, from the living room of their house.

"Five minutes, Shravan" Drishti called out in return and Shravan rolled his eyes in irritation.

She has been saying the same thing for the past one hour.

Why does she even take this much time to get ready? She is a naturally gorgeous woman. She could walk out in a sack, and could still stop the traffic, without even trying. Then what is the need of wearing makeup? Shravan thought in wonder.

"Come on, Drishti. Don't delay anymore. I told you it is a very important day for me. We are signing the first international deal today. I can't be late today" Shravan said, walking into their bedroom.

"Yes yes. I am done. Zip me up, quick" Drishti said and turned around for him to zip up her dress.

The sight of her smooth skin brings goosebumps for him, even after having a child.

The desire for her never abated. It is still flaming as ever.

"Shravan. Zip me up" Drishti said again

"Yes yes" Shravan said and quickly zipped her up, before he forgot the important deal ahead and took her to bed.

"Is he still sleeping?" Drishti asked

"Peacefully" Shravan said, with a smile forming on his face.

Drishti had given little Dhruv a bath and a bottle of milk before getting him ready. And once his tummy got full, he went into a peaceful slumber much to his parents' relief.

"Oh great. I hope he sleeps through the get together. If he wakes up, I won't be able to manage him alone" Drishti said.

She was having a meeting with a couple of school friends. The school she went to before she joined the boarding school.

"Yeah. Keep dreaming. You know him, Drishti. He will definitely wake up. And I am sure you will be able to handle him well" Shravan said, with a smile.

"I hope so. Come, let's leave" Drishti said and they both walked towards the nursery, where Dhruv was sleeping in the baby bassinet.

"Look how innocent he looks when is sleeping" Drishti whispered, looking down at Dhruv

"Just like his momma. Innocent only when asleep" Shravan countered, making Drishti scowl at him.

"That's exactly the face he makes when he is irritated," Shravan said, making Drishti scowl more.

"I hate you" Drishti whispered furiously

"I still have the marks of your hate on my back, Drishti" Shravan said huskily

"Aren't you getting late, hubby jaan?" Drishti asked, raising her eyebrows at his flirty line.

"Damn!! You always manage to distract me some way or the other" Shravan said, as he quickly held the handles of the baby bassinet

"Of course! What can I do? I was born gorgeous." Drishti said cheekily, as she picked her handbag and Shravan's laptop bag and followed him out of the house.

Shravan buckled Dhruv's baby bassinet cum car seat onto the back seat of the car and they both got into the car.

Shravan's phone rang and he picked it up immediately without even looking at the caller ID, not wanting the ringtone to wake Dhruv up.

"Shravan Maheswari speaking" he said

"I know it's you Shravan" came the sarcastic reply from the other side.

"Mithran? What's it?" Shravan asked

"Did you atleast start from home, Shravan? '' Mithran asked exasperatedly.

"Yes. I am on my way" Shravan said apologetically.

Their venture, SM constructions, had grown into a huge enterprise over the past few years. They have reached the No 1 position in India. And today, they are taking their first step into the international construction field.

Since the expansion of their business, Shravan and Mithran now work at two different offices, so Mithran is still getting used to Shravan's late arrivals nowadays.

"You were supposed to be here half an hour ago," Mithran pointed out.

"I know man. I will reach there in fifteen minutes. I just need to drop Drishti and Dhruv at the Central Mall" Shravan said

"Quick. We have to revise the proposal before presenting it" Mithran said and hung up the call.

Soon they reached the mall. Shravan accompanied Drishti to the food court and helped them settle there.

"Your friends aren't here yet?" Shravan asked

"There is still time. You go. I will manage" Drishti said

"How can I leave you two alone" Shravan said with a frown, making Drishti roll her eyes

"You have an international deal to sign, remember?" Drishti asked

"Nothing is more important than you" Shravan said and sat next to her

"I know. If it was only your business, I would have happily let you sit here and let the new deal go. But it involves Mithran's hard work too. Don't keep him waiting. Go" Drishti said

Shravan sighed, because she is right.

He can't jeopardise the deal. Because the deal isn't his alone.

"Call me if necessary, okay?" Shravan asked

"Yes boss" Drishti said, with a mock salute

"Why isn't Siddhu called for the get together?" Shravan asked with a frown

"Siddhu doesn't know them. They are my friends at the school before I joined Siddhu's school" Drishti said

"Okay. Take care" Shravan said and kissed the tip of her nose, before dropping a feather light kiss on top of Dhruv's head.

Drishti watched with a smile as Shravan walked away from them.

Her life has been a smooth sailing ship all along.

And luck brought Shravan into her life.

She couldn't even imagine a life without Shravan or Dhruv in it.

What would have happened if Abhi bhaiyya hadn't fallen in love with Kiara. What would have happened if they didn't go to kidnap Kiara?

Drishti sighed with a sad smile, as she thought about Kiara.

No Drishti. Don't think about all that.

Let bygones be bygones.

What matters now is Abhi bhaiyya is happy. Nothing else matters.

Her phone pinged indicating a whatsapp message. She opened her phone and saw that she got a message in the WhatsApp group created for the get together discussion.

It read 'Sorry girls! Can't make it today. I have a hospital emergency'

"Great. One of them bailed out. Now it's just the two of us" Drishti said with a sigh.

Drishti was scrolling through her phone when someone tapped on her shoulder.

She turned around to see a beautiful woman with pretty blue green eyes and she instantly knew who it was.

"Ava! Ava Verma" Drishti exclaimed happily
