Chapter 902: Chapter 902
After hearing Ye Qing say so much, Huang Boxiong couldn't help but start to believe him. He struggled desperately while shouting, "Ye, let me go quickly! I don't have time to play with you! Did you hear me? Let me go now!"
Ye Qing completely ignored him. He snapped both his legs and feet, stuffed a towel into his mouth, and threw him directly onto the ground. Then Ye Qing went to the bathroom, called the King of Explosives, and asked him how to modify a remote-controlled bomb into a time bomb.
After hearing Ye Qing's intentions, the King of Explosives said, "To modify a remote-controlled bomb into a time bomb, a fixed device is needed. I doubt you have such equipment on hand."
"Is there really no way to modify it?" Ye Qing asked, feeling dejected. He wanted the bomb to explode after leaving the room. After all, the remote control was in someone else's hands. If he wasn't in the room, the other party would not activate the bomb. Therefore, using this bomb to kill Huang Boxiong and the others would be somewhat troublesome.
The King of Explosives paused for a moment and asked, "How long do you want to set it for?"
"Not long—one minute is plenty!" Ye Qing replied.
"One minute is easy," said the King of Explosives. "Both remote-controlled and timed bombs use electric triggering devices. You just need to pull out the wires inside, overlap the areas wrapped in plastic, and then slowly roast the overlapping part using a cigarette or flame. When the plastic burns off, the internal wires will touch and create a spark, thus triggering the bomb. The roasting process roughly lasts about a minute!"
Hearing this, Ye Qing's spirits lifted. He immediately decided to use the King of Explosives' method. He picked up a detector and swept around the room, finally locating the time bomb under the coffee table.
Following the King of Explosives' instructions, Ye Qing carefully retrieved the time bomb, pulled out its internal wires, and overlapped two plastic-wrapped sections as directed. Then, he took the bedsheet from the bed, piled it up, and ignited it. He placed the wires on top of the burning bedsheet. Once the fire gradually burned to the wires, the plastic layer would melt, causing the metal wires inside to touch and trigger the bomb.
After everything was prepared, Ye Qing turned to look at Huang Boxiong and said, "Leader Huang, farewell forever!"
Huang Boxiong stared fearfully at the time bomb, moaning through the towel stuffed in his mouth. His eyes were filled with terror, pleading, and rage, but Ye Qing had decided not to spare him. Moreover, it was already too late—Ye Qing had thoroughly offended Huang Boxiong, and killing him was now a necessity. If Huang Boxiong survived and word reached the Huang Family that Ye Qing was responsible, they would certainly not let Ye Qing get away with it.
Ye Qing glanced again at the bedsheet, ensuring the flames would burn through the plastic layer, before climbing out of the bathroom window. Although he had dislocated the legs and feet of the people inside, that no longer mattered. The bomb's power was fearsome. Once it exploded, everyone inside would be blown to smithereens. Even if someone checked their injuries afterward, who could possibly make sense of it?
Ye Qing sneaked out through the backyard, circled to the front, and casually strolled into the hotel. The two newspaper men sitting on the front lobby sofa were anxiously waiting for Ye Qing, worried he wouldn't come back. But seeing Ye Qing walk in, both men flashed subtle smirks—this time, there'd be no further interruptions, right?
The front desk manager noticed Ye Qing and gave a cold smile. Judging by Huang Boxiong and the others' aggressive demeanor earlier, he knew they were here to trouble Ye Qing. If Ye Qing were to return to his room, he'd certainly suffer a beating, and the manager was more than happy to watch the spectacle unfold.
Ye Qing, however, had no intention of going back to the room. He walked straight to the front desk and casually asked some questions. Naturally, he wanted to avoid the room—after all, the bomb inside could detonate at any moment.
Seeing Ye Qing behave so casually made the two newspaper men and the front desk manager restless, eager for him to enter the room. The newspaper men had already reached into their pockets; as soon as Ye Qing entered, they planned to activate the bomb. Meanwhile, the front desk manager was exceedingly eager to witness Ye Qing getting beaten up.
At that moment, a sudden and unexpected explosion thundered through the air. The door to Ye Qing's room blasted apart into splinters from the force. Even the doors to adjacent rooms were blown away. The lobby trembled from the impact—the bomb was far more powerful than Ye Qing had anticipated. The people in the room were likely reduced to mere chunks of flesh!
The explosion startled everyone. Several female staff members even burst into tears. As for the two newspaper men, they froze completely. Ye Qing hadn't entered the room, and they hadn't pressed the remote control—how could the bomb explode?
The two newspaper men exchanged bewildered glances, utterly clueless about the turn of events.
The front desk manager's eyes nearly popped out of their sockets. The explosion took place in Ye Qing's room, where Huang Boxiong and the others had gathered—weren't they all doomed now?
The manager nearly wept. Huang Boxiong was Huang Jianan's only son and Huang Jianbin's nephew. Dying here would spell disaster for this hotel!
Ye Qing was the first to react. He quickly stepped back a few strides and shouted, "Everyone be careful! There are terrorists!"
The lobby descended into chaos, and the newspaper men's expressions shifted sharply, stealthily standing to make their exit.
"Notify security to lock down the hotel! No one is allowed to leave!" Ye Qing grabbed the front desk manager and commanded in a stern voice, "The terrorists must be hiding within this building. Call the police and don't let them escape!"
The front desk manager, trembling in fear, had no idea what to do. Meanwhile, the hotel security was completely terrified by the blast, too scared to take any action, let alone contain the building. After all, they were up against terrorists!
The two newspaper men, panicking from their guilty conscience, were astonished by Ye Qing's words. They feared the hotel might indeed go under lockdown, and bolted amidst the scattered crowd without hesitation.
Ye Qing had been keeping an eye on them all along. Watching them try to flee, he smirked and dashed toward the entrance, intercepting both men and blocking their way. He shouted, "No one leaves!"
A few people still attempted to run out but were knocked back by Ye Qing, who punched each one, leaving the remaining crowd subdued and compliant.
The two newspaper men realized escape from the building was likely impossible in these circumstances. They glanced around desperately for another way out, but Ye Qing's vigil kept their actions in check. Where could they even flee?
This tense standoff lasted nearly five minutes before the sound of police sirens began faintly echoing from outside. The newspaper men grew visibly more anxious. If they stayed any longer, they'd be caught when the police arrived!
As the sirens drew nearer, the two exchanged glances, nodded, and stealthily split up, each aiming to escape in a different direction.
Ye Qing, having closely monitored their movements, immediately shouted, "You two, where are you trying to go?!"
Everyone's eyes darted toward them. Overwhelmed, the two men bolted, fleeing in opposite directions.
The onlookers shrieked in terror. There was no doubt now—these were the terrorists. Who wouldn't be frightened?
"Trying to escape?" Ye Qing roared. He grabbed a vase from a nearby table and hurled it at one of the men. Simultaneously, he pivoted and sprinted toward the other.
The vase soared through the air and smashed into the first man's knee, causing him to collapse with a scream. His leg had sustained a serious injury, leaving him immobile.
The other man didn't get far before Ye Qing tackled him to the ground. In desperation, the man pulled out a dagger and attempted to stab Ye Qing. But for Ye Qing, this was child's play. He twisted the man's wrist, forcing him to drop the weapon, before dragging him back to the center of the lobby.
At that moment, armed police officers stormed into the building. The lead officer, whom Ye Qing recognized as one of Liu Changping's subordinates, approached Ye Qing immediately. Knowing their connection, he promptly asked Ye Qing what had happened.
"These terrorists must have planted a time bomb in my room!" Ye Qing said firmly. "Luckily, I was delayed at the front desk and didn't return to the room in time—or things would've been much worse!"
"Terrorists?" The officer was momentarily stunned. Since when did Eastern Province have terrorists?
"They're from the Mercenary Corps—the joint case being worked on by Shenchuan and Xiangjiang police!" Ye Qing explained. "They've been trying to assassinate me. I didn't expect them to track me all the way to Eastern Province. I've captured two of them—they're likely connected to the group. I'll have to trouble you to take them back for interrogation."
The officer, aware of the Mercenary Corps case, became excited. The case was a major one, drawing attention even from the Capital. Whoever cracked its mysteries would achieve tremendous merit. And now, he had a chance to contribute!
The officer said, "Mr. Ye, I'll assign some officers to ensure your safety. But could I trouble you to come to the station to provide a statement?"
"Of course!" Ye Qing responded resolutely, trusting Liu Changping's people fully without hesitation.
"Thank you!" The officer smiled, but before he could say more, another officer rushed over, exclaiming urgently, "Captain, there are many dead bodies in the room!"
