Chapter 56: Chapter 56
I wake up to a sharp and intense pain in my stomach that makes me curl up in a ball. I groan feeling the pain getting worse. I release a heavy breath holding onto my stomach hoping the pain will go away but it doesn’t.
Groaning, I turn around and I feel my stomach crumple painfully. My eyes shoot open and I immediately realize what it means. It’s that time of the month. "Oh shit!" I screech taking the covers off. I quickly grab my pantie, towel, and toiletries from the mini wardrobe before I head into the bathroom to clean myself up.
I locked the bathroom door so Richie doesn’t get in, not that he’s done that before but I don’t want to take a risk.
I so much hate this time of the month, I mean the whole deal about it is so stressful and exhausting. Not to mention, the annoying painful cramps, mood swings, flow, overflow, and worse, the stain. I just hate it, it’s too much to handle. I sometimes wish there was a way to make it easier, but I know that it's just something I have to deal with.
I take off my clothes only to realize that my shorts are stained. I hate this day already. I take the shorts and keep them aside as I decide to take a shower and get myself cleaned completely. Turning the warm water on, I step into the shower. The warm water feels good on my skin and I’m beginning to feel a little relaxed.
After spending a couple of minutes in the shower I finally feel clean. I step out of the shower, quickly dry myself, and put on a comfortable outfit. I grab the shorts to wash off the stain but as always, the stain wouldn’t wash off without stressing the hell out of me. I groan in annoyance; other reasons to hate this day.
After what feels like a lifetime, I am finally able to remove the stain. Hanging it beside the towels to dry up, something clicks in my head. "Oh, my god." I groan realizing that if I have a stain on my shorts then I definitely stained the bed.
I screech. This day is certainly gonna go worse than I thought it would. I can feel it.
I quickly rinse my hands, grab a towel and head out of the bathroom. I silently pray that Richie is still asleep, I don’t want him to see that mess. Opening the door to the bedroom, I see Richie looking at the spot I slept on.
"Oh, my god." I grasp. Just when I thought it won’t get worse; it did.
"What? What's wrong?" He ask, concerned
"You saw it didn’t you?" I ask feeling embarrassed. The last thing I want Richie to see is that stain.
"See what…… Oh you mean that? Yes, I did."
"Oh shit!" Now Is the perfect time to say this time of the month is worse than other times of the month. "I’m sorry you had to see that but don’t worry, I’m gonna wash it off right now," I say
"Why are you sorry? This is normal Rach and you know, I will help you wash it off," He says, lifting his hand to collect the towel from me. I hesitate for a moment, still holding onto the towel, and he notices. "Can I have it?" He asks, looking at me expectantly.
"No, I can’t. I don’t want you to touch or wash it off. It’s disgusting, I’d rather do it myself."
Richie chuckles "No it’s not, it came out of you so it can not be disgusting."
"You know that’s blood right?" I inquire as I look at the stain. I feel irritated already, I hate the sight of blood.
"I know."
"And you still want to do it?"
"I have a feeling that you don’t want me to help you." He says
"I don’t because It’s very weird."
Richie slightly chuckles, he gets off the bed and walks to me. He palms my face with both of his hands and he says "Rach, we are getting married. Nothing is weird about this."
"I know we haven’t said our vows yet but I believe what’s yours is mine and if you stain the bed, I believe I have equal responsibility to clean it off."
My heart swells as a bright smile appears on my face. I think this is the sweetest thing he’s ever said to me. I feel so lucky to have him in my life.
"Now what do say, we clean this off and go get some sweets. I hear women like sweets when they are on their period."
I chuckle, resting my head on his chest. "I love you," I say.
"I love you too, Rach," He whispers, holding me close. "

~Later that day
Rebecca, Marta, and I are sitting in the living room, surrounded by many lovely dresses. Since the rehearsal dinner is a next weekend, Richie asked Marta to come over with her best dress collection so I can choose the one suitable for the dinner. I asked Rebecca to join me because she has good taste when it comes to dresses. I would have asked Alice too but she had to go to the hospital to check on John.
I’ve been trying on dresses for a while now, and I'm starting to feel a little overwhelmed by all the choices. It’s just so hard to choose a dress when all the options are gorgeous.
"So, what do you think of this one?" Marta asks, holding up a short, flirty dress. "It's cute, but still has a little bit of sparkle."
I study the dress for a moment, it is lovely but I feel like it’s not the kind of dress I would want to wear for my rehearsal dinner. "I don't know, Marta. I was thinking of something a little more classy. Maybe something full-length?"
"Full-length, huh?" Marta grins, looking through the rake. She picks up a green, long dress that has a slit by the side of it. Holding it up she speaks. "What about this one? It’s sophisticated, fun, and a lot classy."
I look at the dress and shake my head. "I
don’t think green is attractive enough for a dinner, what do you think Rebecca?" I ask.
"I don’t think so either, though the gown is lovely but the color isn’t. I think it's gonna be better if you go with a sexy color. Maybe red or black." She suggests taking a sip of wine.
"You have any red dress there, Marta?" I inquire
"I think I do. Let me check." She goes through the rake again, flicking each cloth one by one. She picks out some red dresses and keeps them on the floor. Picking out another red dress, she smiled "Okay, I think I have found the perfect one. How about something like this?" She holds up a full-length dress made of a soft, flowing fabric. "It’s classy, it’s comfortable and it’s really pretty."
"I love it. You should go with this." Rebecca suggests
I examine the dress before I speak "It is pretty, can I try it on?"
"Of course!" Marta hands the dress to me. I grab the dress and head to the bathroom to change. Once I'm ready, I walk out of the bathroom, and Rebecca stands up from the couch, her eyes immediately lighting up at the sight of me. "Gorgeous." She compliments
I smile as I stand in front of the mirror. I twirl admiring the way the dress looks on me. "I love it. It's exactly what I was looking for."
Marta grins. "I'm so glad. Now, let's talk about shoes..."
"Wait, how about the wedding dress?" Rebecca asks making me turn to look at her.
"Richie's gonna pick that one for me," I reply with a smile. "I want it to be like a surprise."
"Ah, I see," Rebecca nods understandingly. "Well, I'm sure he'll choose something beautiful. He has good taste."
I laugh. "Yes, he definitely does." I turn towards the mirror and smile. I can’t wait to see the dress Richie picked out for me. I’m sure he’s gonna pick something ravishing. Something that will make me feel like a queen on our special day.
