Chapter 19: Chapter 19

Aarav Kapoor

Today finally I breathed a heaf of relief as Shruti got discharged.

"Bhai, stay with us for a few days." Ananya said pouting.

"Anu, you know me & dad can never stay under the same roof." I said sighing.

It is just disappointing how they only need one thing from me and I cannot give them that.

"Aarav, a few days won't hurt. Even I am going to be there. It will be fun." Ahana said smiling.

Yeah sure! It will be fun when when either Dad or I would kill each other.

"Ohh, but our bhai is no more fun." Shruti said mischeviously.

"Please!" All three of them shouted together.

"Okay fine! Yess. I'll come." I finally gave into their wish.

"Yayyiieee!" They all screamed.

I started the car and drove towards my apartment.

While waiting for the elevator I saw Shanaya coming from behind with too many bags in her hand.

I turned my head towards the elevator and pretended as if I did not see her.

It is soo awkward!

I don't know! I am too nervous to face her. I practically hugged the life out of her because I was tensed for Shruti.

"Shana!" Shruti squealed and hugged her.

"Easy there! You've just discharged." Shanaya said trying to manage her bags and hug her.

"Ohh please! I am absolutely fine. Don't start with that doctor role of your's now. Aarav Bhai has already lectured me enough." She said rolling her eyes.

And she glanced at me and chuckled.

"Aarav, take those bags from her. What kind of a gentleman are you?" Ahana  said glaring at me.

And I just gave her a what-the-fuck look.

"Ohh no no. I am fine, Di." She said smiling.

"You've shopped too much today." Shruti said eyeing her bags.

"No, actually I ordered these online for the girls in my dance class." She said again with a smile.

She seems to be too happy!

Her life is so good & happening. Always smiling and searches for reasons to smile.

Why can't I be like this?

The elevator arrived and we all entered.

I silently took all the bags from her hand because she was still struggling with it and she grinned looking at me.

"Don't get too happy. Just helping you like you did." I said rolling my eyes.

"Whatever, Kapoor." She said still smiling and that bought a smile on my face.

"Is that a smile I see on your face Mr.-I -won't-even-acknowledge-you?" She whispered pulling me by my shirt's sleeves.

"Annoying kid!" I said hiding my smile.

She huffed and rolled her eyes at me.

The elevator dinged and went towards her door to open it. I just stood behind her patiently. When she opened the door I handed her the bags and said

"Make sure next time you order stuff which weighs less than you."

She laughed and said

"Better, I'll call you when my stuff arrives." She winked at me.

What?

Did she just?

Wink at me?

I was just looking at her wide eyed.

"Aarav." Ahana called and I turned around quickly walking towards by apartment.

"You know di, I've never seen Bhai picking shopping bags of any girl." Ananya said.

I knew where this is heading to!

"Yeah! I've never seen him hugging a girl except us." Ahana said.

"I've never seen him smiling at a girl." Shruti added.

"Are you guys done?" I asked rolling my eyes.

But I don't know I wasn't irritated at all.

Maybe because I know that it is true. She is actually the first one!

My first one!

After I was done with packing my stuff, we all left.

.

.

.

After dinner we all were just chilling on the terrace. Ananya, Shruti and Ayan were busy running around each other. I saw Ahana sitting deep in her thoughts staring at the sky.

"Everything alright?" I asked her sitting beside her.

She sighed and kept her head on my shoulder.

"I caught him red handed." She said and I instantly had this urge to make him regret it.

"Ahana! You're stronger than this." I circled my hand around her shoulder.

"Where did I go wrong, Aarav?" She whispered.

"Nowhere! You are not wrong. He is missing out on the best thing. Don't you dare feel insecure because of him." I said pulling her closer to me.

"Abhi is ready to jump in any second, you know." I said chuckling.

"He is late." She said rolling her eyes.

"This is the reason I tell mom, I don't want to get married." I said.

She got her head up from my shoulder and glared at me.

"What nonsense is this Aarav? You are 29! I am just a year elder to you and I am going to have my first baby. You need to settle down some day." She said raising her voice.

"I don't want to make some girl adjust like you have did. Mom did. Shruti is doing." I said sighing.

"Then don't. Why do you always think, you'll turn out to be like dad?" She asked me.

"I am scared I'll turn out to be like him. I'm scared I'll fail. Relationships are fine. But marriages are a Big NO. I am not ready for the commitment." I said looking ahead.

"Then set an example. Be the opposite of the men you've seen." She said this time in a soft tone.

"See, what good did men do to you? Abhi did not have the guts to get married to you when you were been given a deadline to get married. Your husband is cheating on you. Mom was cheated on in the worst way possible. There is a possibilty Shruti is also falling in a trap. What makes you think I am going to be a diffrent case?" I said irritated.

I just hate this conversation.

"Just promise me one thing, Aarav. The day you feel like you've got your the one you won't chicken out because of your fear. You'll try." She said giving me her hand to make the promise.

"That's impossible. I am not going to meet any the one of my mine." I said rolling my eyes again.

She just laughed at it.

"Deny as much as you want. You are going to be whipped soon. Just promise me already." She said.

I kept my hand in her and said

"That's pretty impossible but If I get the chance, I'll try."

She smiled to it and then suddenly Ananya came and threw her arms around my neck from behind.

"Bhai! They both are tickling me. They always gang up on me." She said pouting.

"Hawww, such a liar. I tell you bhai, you've spoiled her a lot. Take her with you to your apartment yaa!" Shruti said throwing a pillow at her and again they started fighting.

Ahana and I started laughing looking at them.

I hope they stay happy like this always!

Atleast they have their reasons to be happy.
