Chapter 12: Chapter 12

I have been feeling giddy since Liam asked me to dinner. Of course, me doing who I am had to play with him some on if food is all the same or not.

"I am sorry, I didn't think this through." Liam says, catching my attention from putting up the creamers and beans.

"What? Backing out after you already asked." I tease.

"Nah, it is just I have been working in the shop all day. I don't want to smell or look homeless." Liam replies with a weird look.

"Well, you don't smell. Not to me anyways. As for how you look, jeans and t-shirt nothing fancy. Besides, I am not a fancy girl the Ball is really the only time I dress up. Hot weather sure a summer dress is nice, but it is by no means fancy. No need for a meal that cost over twenty bucks per plate, when a simple cheeseburger taste even better." I ramble.

"Good to know." Liam smirks.

Did I order batteries yet? I don't think so, but it is something that I need to do and stat! The look on his sexy face will be more than enough to use with the help of the toys.

I put up the last of the beans under the counter in the small cabinets I have for the extras.

"That is everything put up and where it belongs." I whisper, glancing around.

Am I wasting time? Sure, just a small amount. I tend to ramble around Liam, like some love sick person.

There is something about him though, I feel like I can just open up to him and not be judged. It is an amazing feeling, and one thing I have craved from a man.

Slow the roll here Scarlett Emma Anderson. We barely know this guy, and he may just be being nice since we did only have a quicky in the alley way.

I am curious to see how this goes with no alocohol involved. Will there still be feelings there for him or will I have to come up with a way to scram?

"Would you like to walk to the Diner or ride?" Liam asks.

My horny mind had to stop when he said ride, because it went the wrong way.

"Walking would be great." I respond, not letting it be know where my mind went.

Liam walks to the door and holds it open for me. I take my bag and tuck it under my arm turning to lock up for the night.

This so far seems to be much better, than spending the evening experimenting with coffees. At least it is not as lonely.

The walk is quiet and peaceful between us. I keep stealing looks at him from the side of my eye. There has been a few times, I catch him looking at me.

Before we get to the Diner, Liam places his hand on the small of my back. The heat alone from his touch sends my body into the overdrive with dirty thoughts.

Geez! One time. That it is all it was, but my body sure remembers as well as my mind. My brain is going over all the scenerios on what he could do to me.

Liam steps out a little inch in front of me, with his hand still on my back and opens the Diner door.

"Thanks." I shyly say, ducking my head down some.

"You're welcome." Liam's breath hits my ear, where he got down closer to me to whisper it.

The other night it didn't seem like I was much short than him, but today being in flats and not the extra two inches added to my height. I am slightly short than he is.

We take our seats in a booth close by the doors. It is strange to say, I don't think I will bail but it is instinct to sit close by them after all the trash dates I have had in the past.

The waitress steps up. "Hey, guys. What can I get you to drink?" She asks.

"Unsweet tea with lemon please." I answer.

"I'll have the same." Liam says.

The waitress nods and leaves to get the drinks.

"I figured you would get something with sugar in it." Liam laughs.

"I have to have something without sugar in it and well tea it is." I laugh.

"So, I know you own the coffee shop, are an amazing dancer, not afraid to show the sass you have. Tell me more about yourself. You mentioned the last break up a couple of years ago." Liam brings up.

I nod my head.

"My sass normally is not seen unless I know someone for a bit, but there is something with you that feels like I know you." I amuse.

"Anyways, it has been two years since I walked away from the last guy. I wasn't getting support and he wanted me to work less and then got judgemental when I wanted to work on new projects for my shop. He got jealous it seemed when I would bring up work." I shrug.

"I am twenty-six, grew up here only ever left for college but that was just the next town over." I say.

Liam goes to say something, but stops when the waitress comes with our drinks.

"Do you know what you would like to order?" She asks.

I put in my order for a cheeseburger with all the works and cheese fries. Liam gets the exact same order as I do.

"So your parents live close by?" Liam asks.

"No, they died eight years ago." I drop my head.

I hear Liam express his apologies, but I shake my head.

"Your turn." I smile at him.

"Not much to tell honestly. I used to be a playboy in a way, I guess. That stopped for me a couple of years back and just focused on the Army until my contract was up. I came here hoping to find a purpose and enjoy life." Liam tells me.

We get our food and the talking goes on smoothly the rest of the time. We didn't get into any more hard talk, just basically shop talk with our businesses.
