Chapter 199: Chapter 199
Irene Rowe remained calm, a beautiful curve forming on her alluring red lips: "I can."
"If you can come up with a more innovative design, I’ll walk out of here on my hands today." The man was not flustered at all, even boldly making such a remark.
"You better remember what you just said." Irene sneered, clapping her hands to signal the staff to bring the new product up on stage.
As soon as the new robot appeared, the whole place erupted.
Everyone stared at the perfect robot on stage in amazement, with many people’s mouths forming ’O’ shapes.
"Oh my God, is this the robot Kevin talked about that can accompany the elderly and children at home?"
"My goodness, this design is so exquisite! Regardless of its functionality, just looking at its appearance makes it worth buying."
"The skin, the body, the details, it’s practically like a real person; this is way more advanced than a cleaning robot."
After the new robot was rolled out, everyone’s reaction said it all. Only then did Irene slowly explain: "This is the new home-style intelligent robot designed by our Kevin Group. It has all the functions that were introduced earlier, and it also supports over sixty language systems. It’s not just for everyday conversation; it can even answer academic questions."
"Is this for real?" someone doubted.
Irene smiled and said, "Next, I will demonstrate all its functions one by one so you can see for yourselves."
Everyone held their breath, watching as Irene pressed some button, and the robot started to move autonomously.
Irene mentioned she was thirsty, and the robot immediately poured water for her. The posture and actions were very standard, and it politely handed the water to Irene saying, "Please, have some water."
"Wow!" Everyone was stunned.
Although there have been intelligent robots before, none had such a refined appearance, nor a voice identical to a real person. It was their first time seeing such a robot.
Immediately, Irene demonstrated various functions of the robot, allowing everyone to clearly see its smooth limb movements and well-developed language system.
"This robot is home-style with no danger. Even if parents are not home, it can take care of children or accompany the elderly. You don’t need to worry about any danger because it’s an electronic product; it’s very safe. The entire exterior is made of synthetic skin and includes a built-in safety monitoring system. In case of any accident, it will immediately call the emergency services, the police, and contact the owner."
After Irene finished the introduction, she scanned the troublemaker with a cold gaze: "Sir, do you have anything else to say?"
"This can’t be possible, this can’t be possible! How could you have designed such a thing?" The man was already stunned by the robot’s functions. How is it different from a real person? It’s practically a real person, isn’t it?
"The fact that your company can’t do it doesn’t mean we at Kevin can’t." Seraphina Sinclair stood up, walked to Irene’s side, and with a cold gaze sweeping over everyone present, she declared boldly, "As for your accusation that Kevin is plagiarizing, we won’t let it go. And regarding your company’s plagiarism of Kevin, we won’t let that go either."
When the man heard this, his face changed instantly: "I don’t know what you’re talking about; I just can’t stand you plagiarizing others’ work, what’s wrong with that?"
Seraphina curled her red lips, her cold eyes emitting a chilling aura: "Is shouting ’stop thief’ your Archway’s style, Director Hayes?"
"You... you..." Director Hayes wasn’t stupid. The fact that his name was called out so clearly indicated that she had been aware of his intention to cause trouble long ago.
"What? Surprised I recognized you?" Seraphina waved her small hand, and the big screen behind her immediately displayed a scene. "Regarding Archway Group’s plagiarism and dispatching business spies to steal Kevin’s secrets, we will take Archway to court. If you have any objections, discuss it with the judge."
The screen played footage showing Kevin Group’s surveillance videos. Three hours ago, internal personnel from Kevin Group sneaked into Seraphina’s office to steal documents on the new product after everyone had left for home post-work. They had deliberately turned off all the surveillance systems but overlooked a pinhole camera that Austin White had especially installed, and even Seraphina’s computer camera was actually equipped with a pinhole camera.
Director Hayes took two steps back, seeing things didn’t look good, and turned to escape.
Seraphina’s eyes flashed coldly, and she waved to the security guards at the door: "Stop him."
Then she instructed Irene: "Call the police."
"Understood, BOSS." Irene nodded slightly.
After Director Hayes was stopped, he was still shouting loudly, "What are you doing? On what grounds are you arresting me? Let me go immediately!"
"Archway stole Kevin’s secrets, and you were involved. Whether we can let you go or not, you’ll have to explain to the police." Seraphina did not save any face for Director Hayes, and had him detained directly.
The scene exploded again. What was first thought to be Kevin’s plagiarism had suddenly turned around completely; it was truly exciting.
No one was sure what exactly happened, so they just wanted to find out the truth now.
Director Hayes was immediately surrounded by people, everyone speaking at once, questioning him about the true situation of the whole matter. He wanted to escape, but unfortunately, after being held in place by the security, he had no choice but to face hundreds of media.
Because of this plot twist, people even forgot to ask if Seraphina and Desmond Fairchild had really broken up.
Nor did anyone notice when exactly the two left.
After leaving everything for Irene to handle, Seraphina got into Desmond’s car and headed home.
"It seems like you were prepared for today’s events." Desmond drove back home, a playful curve on his thin lips, "I was overthinking."
Seraphina arrogantly tilted her chin up, her little eyes full of confidence: "Of course, I can’t come to you every time something happens, or I’d be unfit to be Kevin’s boss."
"I’ll drop you off first; there’s still something I need to deal with at the company. I’ll come to pick you up in the evening. Judging by today, there’s quite a stir. Before I return, it’s best for you not to go out." Desmond carefully instructed.
"Don’t worry, I’m not that stupid." Seraphina looked at him speechlessly, wondering if this man saw her as an immature child, needing to be instructed for every little thing.
Desmond made no response. Updates are released by novelfire.net
He also knew Seraphina was very smart but just instinctively wanted to remind her, to protect her.
After dropping Seraphina off, Desmond headed straight to the company.
What he was specifically busy with, Seraphina wasn’t clear. Returning home, she collapsed into the embrace of the big bed, just wanting to get a good nap.
To prepare for this day, she didn’t sleep well the night before and was in constant contact with Austin and the others, just waiting for those fish to bite the hook themselves.
"So tired." As soon as Seraphina got home, she transformed into another person, which puzzled Rosalie Quinn greatly.
To have a celebration with Simon Finch in Bayside City during a holiday and to see if Seraphina had weathered the crisis in the past few days, she flew overnight last night to get here.
