Chapter 193: Chapter 193
Jude Sinclair’s small hand gently patting Seraphina Sinclair’s back, silently accompanying her like a little adult.
Sometimes Seraphina even felt that, even if the whole world didn’t understand her or support her, she still had Jude. She was really grateful that she decided to give birth to Jude back then; without him, she wouldn’t have been able to get through these years on her own no matter what.
"Son, promise me, no matter what, don’t ever leave mommy, okay?" Seraphina held Jude tighter, feeling an inexplicable pang in her heart.
Was it her illusion? Always felt like no one could stay with her forever; though there were clearly so many people around, she still felt so lonely.
Suddenly, she felt so uncomfortable.
Seraphina felt a tightness in her chest, her head dizzy as she almost couldn’t sit steadily.
Noticing her unusual state, Jude worryingly called out, "Mommy, what’s wrong? Mommy?"
"Mommy’s fine, just a little tired." Seraphina took large breaths of air, but for some reason, she still felt a tightness in her chest, like a breath was stuck there and couldn’t move up or down.
Before she finished speaking, Seraphina’s vision turned black, and she collapsed straight to the ground.
Jude’s little body couldn’t support Seraphina’s frame, and he could only watch her fall.
With quick reflexes, he grabbed a nearby pillow and put it under Seraphina’s head, hoping she could lie more comfortably.
"Mommy, mommy, what’s wrong?" Jude called out anxiously, but Seraphina didn’t respond at all.
He quickly took out his phone and dialed Desmond Fairchild: "Dad, mommy passed out."
Then he called Camille White: "Third brother, mommy passed out."
He informed everyone who could be notified, and Jude waited for everyone to arrive.
Based on past experiences, Seraphina should be experiencing an episode. She frequently fainted before, all due to depression. After emotional upheavals, her mental state would also have issues, although she had been managing it well these past two years.
However, recently, the episodes occurred frequently, which made Jude worried.
Upon receiving Jude’s call, Desmond hurriedly rushed back without bothering about the argument he had with Seraphina. He abandoned his work in haste. Sitting in the car, he regretted his impulsiveness; if he hadn’t been impulsive earlier, Seraphina might not have fainted.
Thankfully, Ace bought him a new phone; otherwise, he would have missed Jude’s call and have no face left to see Seraphina and Jude.
Camille, who lived quite far away, immediately drove out upon receiving the call.
When he arrived, Desmond was already preparing to take Seraphina to the hospital.
Camille stopped him: "No one understands godmother’s condition better than I do, let me handle it."
"Okay." Desmond didn’t trust him, but Jude had complete faith in Camille.
With Jude acting as a mediator, Desmond didn’t insist further; he could only choose to trust Camille.
Looking at Seraphina lying lifelessly on the bed, Desmond felt an immense inner torment.
"How is she?" Evan Knight barely glanced at her when Desmond anxiously inquired.
Evan shook his head: "Wait a bit, let me do a detailed examination on godmother, just looking won’t reveal anything."
Jude clenched his small fists, feeling extremely nervous.
Camille took out the equipment and checked for a good while before giving the father and son an answer: "She’s okay, it’s just the emotional knot couldn’t be untied, causing her to faint, she’ll be fine once she wakes up."
"Are you sure she’s okay?" Desmond’s eyebrows furrowed fiercely, his gaze swept over Seraphina’s lifeless face, causing him to feel a dull ache in his heart.
"Godmother’s depression is very severe; over the years, I’ve employed numerous methods to control her condition. But now, it’s taking a drastic turn for the worse. Do you know why?" Despite being gentle, Camille’s face darkened while confronting Desmond.
Ever since Seraphina encountered him, troubles came one after another; if he weren’t Jude’s father, Camille definitely wouldn’t even want to spare him a glance.

Desmond fell silent; even if he didn’t say anything, he understood, it was all because of him.
If it weren’t for him, Seraphina’s condition wouldn’t have suddenly worsened.
"Third brother, don’t worry about other things now; mommy’s illness is urgent. Is there a way to completely cure mommy’s depression?" Jude wasn’t concerned with anything else; he only wanted to know if Seraphina’s illness could be cured.
All these years, he watched Seraphina suffer from the illness, feeling powerless as her son, always helpless except for feeling heartache.
Desmond felt the same way; not being a doctor meant he was unable to do anything every time he saw Seraphina in distress, a sense of powerlessness enveloped him, leaving him clueless.
Like Jude, he stared hopefully at Camille, hoping to hear the desired answer from him.
Unfortunately, things didn’t go as desired; Camille also expressed having no solution.
"Depression is indeed an illness, but it cannot be cured merely through medication or surgery, mainly it depends on whether the patient can overcome the shadow within. If she remains entrenched and unwilling to come out, even if Hua Tuo (a legendary doctor from ancient China) were alive, it would be futile."
"Is there really no other way?" Desmond’s brows tightened; he refused to believe no cure could be found.
Camille sighed and shook his head gently: "Unless godmother figures things out herself, otherwise it’s ineffective."
Desmond had never delved deeply into her past; he was not fully aware of the past events.
What kind of pain made it unforgettable to her, turning into a heartache.
He wanted to ask but dared not.
Understanding Desmond’s concern for Seraphina, Camille reminded him: "If you truly love her, don’t provoke her anymore. Godmother’s past endured more pain than you can imagine."
Desmond, a grown man, was rendered speechless by Camille’s words, unable to refute.
"Previously, when I was beside godmother, this condition was rarely seen. Since I arrived at Bayside City, it’s been only a short time, yet it’s already occurred two or three times." Camille took a bottle of medicine from a small medicine box and handed it to Desmond, "Give her this medicine upon waking, once daily, and I’ll check her when she stabilizes."
He then looked at Jude: "Jude, give me the medicine your mommy used before."
"Okay." Jude quickly found Seraphina’s usual medicine from the cabinet and handed it to Camille, asking softly, "Third brother, mommy will be alright, won’t she?"
Camille smiled and patted his head gently, his tone extremely gentle, "Rest assured, with third brother here, godmother won’t be in trouble."
"That’s good." Jude’s small mouth exhaled a breath of relief, his worried heart eased slowly.
With Camille’s reassurance, it was enough.
Before leaving, Camille instructed Desmond, who didn’t resist, obediently listening.
It was Jude’s first time seeing Desmond , unsure of what to say momentarily.
Seraphina remained unconscious, unknown when she would awaken as told by Camille. Desmond and Jude couldn’t bear to leave, one sitting by her head, the other by her feet, both watching her intently, afraid she’d awaken suddenly.
