Javier's POV

Although I was boiling in anger I kept it under control so that I could listen to my father. If not that this was important to me, if not that it concerned Megan. A peaceful future with Megan, I would have left this dinner a long time ago. My dad is just...ugh. He actually suggested that Kristen terminates her pregnancy. Yes, yes he didn't say it out loud but we all knew his way of thinking and he try to deny it. How can someone be so...evil?

"Javier... Are you listening to me?”My dad voice asked making me snap my neck in his direction doing nothing to hide the anger in my eyes. I could burn holes into his eyes with my glare.

"Do I need to?”I ask still glaring.

My father's eyes flashed with anger and I was already prepared to face the heated argument that was sure to begin anytime soon. Am not backing down because this time, just like almost every other time... He was wrong. My mum seemed to have read our minds, because she cleared her throat and started fake coughing.

"Danielle are you ok?”My dad asks looking concerned as mum continued coughing and Genesis was patting her back, trying to hide the smile in her face.

She took a napkin and wiped nonexistent tears from her eyes, then she raised her head back up, "Yea am fine Richard.. Just spit going down the wrong way. Please continue, so we can get this over with"

Dad nodded turning back to me, just this time without the glare. He cleared his throat and his eyes moved to Kristen who looked shaken, I held on to her hand as a way of telling her that everything is fine. "Kristen being Pregnant for another man brings a suitable reason to end the engagement between you too."

My heart did a little jump but my face remained in It’s frown.

"So?”Clyde asks being the impatient man he is.

"So...on grounds of her being pregnant and the both of you being against the Union. It's fair to say that this engagement, this ten years engagement is over”my dad says not happy about it for one minute.

"Wohoooo. Yes!”Ethan shouts raising his hands up and getting up his seat. All eyes turn to him, some in amusement, some worried and others in anger. "Umm...too soon?”Clyde smacks the underside of his head, making his well combed dark hair fly in different places. "Ow!”He turned glaring at Clyde then we all burst out laughing except me who just smiled shaking my head in amusement and my dad who wasn't at the table anymore.

"Congratulations Kristen, am so happy for you”My mum said smiling at her with genuine happiness.

"Thank you Dani”Kristen replied sadly.

"Who's the father?”Genesis asks.

"My fiancée”Kristen replied smiling.

"Javier?”Ethan asks, we all turn to look at him with a look that said, 'Really?”. "what? Wasn't he her fiancée until like 2 minutes ago?”We turned to look at each other, then shrugged in response.

My dad returned to the table with a paper, we all went silent as he took his seat, "this is the engagement agreement"

"So It’s a contract?”Ethan asked.

"Just shut up already”Clyde muttered. "Sorryyy”Ethan says totally not sorry.

"Ahem...you guys can tear it off whenever you please”he says returning to his meal. Kristen grabbed the paper and tore it into two. I laughed at her enthusiasm.

"Hate me much?”I asked her jokingly.

"I didn't say anything about that”Kristen said smiling at me.

"So, which family are you going to get married from now”my dad asked.

"Dad we just cancelled one engagement and you're already thinking of entering another one?”Genesis asked surprised as mum just shook her head not surprised at all.

My dad ignored Genesis, "I've a few in mind. Alfonso Espinoza a very good friend of mine and a renowned business man and shareholder in our business has a very beautiful and intelligent daughter... What's her name?"

"Sofia Espinoza”my mother replied sounding bored.

"Yes! Sofia, she came for dinner once but sadly you were not around to meet her. She's well trained with homely manners and marrying her would help both businesses”my father ended.

Kristen and I exchanged glances that said, "unbelievable"

"If you don't want her...”My father continued when I didn't say a word, “I also know Maria Fernanda Barmaceda, she's a doctor in practice, her father non other than Horacio Barmaceda, the governor "

"I can't believe this”I finally tired of listening to my father.

"What can't you believe?”He ask his forehead creasing in confusion.

"I can't believe you are like this”I say stretching my hand out to him, "wait, did you give birth to children so you can merge them with all your friends children and benefit your business? Is it all about the benefIt’s?. I just told you I won't marry Kristen over here because I don't love her and you are here listing out strangers to merge me with?"

"Javier I would not let you disgrace our family by getting married to a riffraff, a nobody!”He shouted at me, his eyes blazing like mine.

"Am not marrying a riffraff!!!”I shout as I pick up the nearest plate to me and slam it to the wall.

"Then who is it? Who do you want to get married to? Or do you have a calling to priesthood now?”He asked mocking.

I closed my eyes letting out a breath, if I don't release some steam, someone is seriously going to get hurt.

"Ah I have another idea and this one isn't a stranger, Faye Perez. She's over there in New York with you anyway. She's good isn't she?”My dad ask no more fuming.

"Faye?”I ask surprised, how can he suggest that? "Faye's like a sister to me and a daughter to you"

"My point exactly, you like her, I like her too. She's beautiful and intelligent..."

"And crazy”Genesis said, she never liked Faye and remained scared of her ever since the prom incident. "Let's not forget she's a maids child"

"Your brother didn't give me any other choice did he? At least I know Faye really well”my dad said.

"Why is your choice?”Genesis asked like the stubborn adorable mule she is.

"Yea, why can't bro chose for himself?”Ethan asked.

"Dad, no one told you not to fight your father when he forced you to marry Dani, not that that's a bad thing though, am glad you didn't...um yea”Clyde said getting all confused.

"And let's not forget that you already loved me before you found out that we were engaged to be married”my mum said trying to ease the tension.

"That's not the issue Danielle”my dad said sitting down.

"Well, am not going to disturb myself about this situation anymore. I'm in love with Megan Hart”I say calmly sitting down.

"Megan Hart?”They all asked, except Clyde who was grinning like a gold prize winner.

"Your personal assistant?”My mum asked her face lighting up.

"Megan at the party?”Genesis asked smiling.

"Sam's Meg? I mean his best friend?”Kristen asked.

"Pretty Meg?”Ethan asked too.

My mood immediately brightened. "Yea that Megan"

"Oh my God!”Mum exclaimed holding hands with Genesis as they squealed.

"No way”Kristen said smacking my hand.

"Yes, am not asking for any permission. I am not tied to anyone anymore, I am free and I am going to get married to Megan.”With that I got out of my seat blocking out the ladies high pitched squeal.

"Javier...”My dad called.

"Do not talk to me!”I lift up another thing on the table which turned out to be a jug and slammed it on the wall again.

Kristen gasps her hand instinctively going to her tummy.

"Sorry, am so sorry”I say raking my hand through my hair as I storm out of the dining.

"Javier...”My father called again. Making me stop in my tracks, he doesn't just give up does he?.

"Richard let him go already”my mum says obviously tired of all the arguments and wanting her treasured utensils to remain intact.

"Javier...”My dad calls again calmly.

"What?”I answer back hostility care in my voice. I don't need to be kind and polite to someone who sees me as a merger.

"Bring her home”he says before getting up his seat and walking out.

Huh?

He said to bring her home. Megan, he wants to see her. Yes! I might not care about his opinion but it sure would be good to have my father's blessing in marrying the girl I love.

"Phew...what a dinner”Ethan says making everyone nod in agreement.

I stood looking down my window drinking from my favorite bottle of Scotch. My day has been okay so far. I'm still in Mexico, I haven't seen my father throughout today and I just came back from a hectic, thorough fun shopping with my mum and Genesis. There was only one flaw in this day, It’s missing something important.

My Megan.

I smile as I looked at my bed and saw a shopping bag resting on top. I saw something I liked while shopping with the ladies. It reminded me of Megan and am sure she'll love it. I miss her, four days without her and am already a mess. I can't believe I've fallen in love with somebody so perfect and that it is affecting me so. I didn't believe in love till I met and fell in love with Megan. Megan my friend. Megan my girlfriend. Megan my world.

I stand there remembering memories with Megan and smiling like an idiot when my eyes sees something that makes me choke on my Scotch. Genesis lips locked with another man right inside our compound. It looked like a battle from up here, lips trying to gain domination. I watch in horror as his hands trail down her back to her butt. His other hand slipping into her shirt.

My sister. My only sister.

I slam down my glass as I run downstairs taking two steps at a time. I made my way to the back of the house walking so fast, I almost outran my shadow.

"Hello”I announce myself to the kissing duo. Genesis gasps as they separate from each other her hands quickly fixing her shirt. I give them a big smile putting my hands behind my back to resist temptation.

"Javier...”Genesis says breathless scratching her hair.

"Javier?”The sandy blond boy ask looking at me in confusion.

"Yes, Javier... My brother”Genesis introduce as his eyes widen. "Javier this is Miguel, my...my acquaintance"

I bit my lip in amusement, "acquaintance heh?"

"I...I.. Nice to meet you sir”Miguel shutters.

"So Miguel, did you enjoy kissing my sister?”I ask as their eyes widen.

"Huh?”He ask.

"Oh am sure you are not deaf. I said did you enjoy kissing my sister?”I ask again my face hardening.

"Um...ye..”I raise my brow at him. "I mean no”I and Genesis raise our brows at him. "Ye...n..ye"

"Tsk tsk tsk”I say shaking my head as I show my clenched fist and pretend to be studying it. He gulped and started backing away. I raise my head to look at him with a murderous glare. "Run"

He spares Genesis a pleading glance as he takes to his heels. "Javier..”Genesis whines.

"What? Am saving you from braveless men. You should thank me”I say mending her ruffled hair with my hands.

"Well, he's a bad kisser anyway. I think he bit me”she says puckering her lower lip and looking for blood.

"Let me see”I say and as she comes closer, I smack my finger on her forehead, causing her to yelp. I laugh turning around to walk away. Mission completed.

"Why are you even here?”She yells.

"Because it's my home!"

"Shouldn't you be in your pad or new York”she ask clearly annoyed.

"Yea but mum, a certain stubborn mule and two grey eyes dudes, practically begged me to stay at home for at least a week, so...here I am”I say turning around to smirk at her with my arms spread open.

"Arghgggg”she screamed making me laugh louder.

I run into my room with a mincemeat pie that mum pushed into my hand on my way here. It tasted good so I brought it with me. I wanted to see Megan's face, I hope to video chat with her now.

I switch on my laptop and the first thing I see is a message from Faye saying 'hi' I reply with a hello and she immediately responds her face showing up.

"Hey Javier, what's up”she asks smiling brightly and waving at me.

"Hello Fay, am fine and so is everybody over here. How about you?"

"Well the office is going well but boring without you. We all miss you Javier and Megan... She's fine too”I nodded. "How did the mission go? Successful?"

"Umm...Yes! Yes it was Faye. Am a free man!”I say excited.

"Oh my gosh, am so happy for you Javier"

"Yep, for me and Megan”I say feeling excited to tell her my plans.

"Why? Why Megan?”She asked confused.

“because I'm going to ask her to marry me Faye. I am going to ask Megan to Marry me “I say trying not to yell.

And she's going to say yes. Because she loves me too.
