Chapter 3: Chapter 3

After they got back from church, Lisha slumped on her bed and had a nap, she woke couple of minutes later and realised she was meant to attend a naming ceremony, quickly, she got out of bed and rushed into the bathroom for a quick shower.

Minutes later, she got out of the bathroom and picked out a pink short gown that made her look like a kid, she stared at herself in the mirror, they were all small, her body was small even her eyes were dainty, Lisha picked up her small purse and walked out of her room.

"Where to?" Gran asked upon seeing Lisha fully dressed, she was in the living room with Miracle and Nikki, while Nikki was chatting on her phone, Gran and Miracle were watching cartoon as always.

Nikki looked up from her phone, "Where are you going?"

"To Andrew," she replied succinctly and Nikki sat up quickly.

"But I thought…"

Lisha cut her short, "He just became a father." She headed towards the door while Nikki stared at her in surprise. She'd always knew her sister was crazy but her behavior this evening more than confirmed it. How could someone think of going to her ex- boyfriend's child naming ceremony? Not like he was that much of an ex- boyfriend considering that they only dated for a month.

Andrew had been Lisha's boyfriend until some months back, the day their relationship clocked a month old Lisha found out he had been cheating on her with one 'toothpick' as Lisha called her and even got the lady pregnant. Immediately she found out, she rushed to Andrew's house and unfortunately for him met him right on top of that girl she later named toothpick.

That instant Andrew jumped up and the toothpick tried covering her face in embarrassment, Lisha cared less about her since Andrew was her business, she smirked at him and before Andrew could think, she pulled him by his joystick, he groaned and tried stopping her but the slap that landed on his face sent him scurrying back to the bed.

The toothpick noticed Lisha was no joke so she tried getting up from the bed but Lisha pulled her back with her hair as she collided her head with Andrew's which made her scream out loudly with so much obvious pain. Andrew tried standing up to prove he was a man worth his onions but it seemed he didn't know Lisha's history, he stood up only to be met with the sole of her heel, groaning in pain, Lisha spat on him and stomped out of his house angrily.

"See you guys later." Lisha waved at them before walking out of the house. She got into her Toyota Corolla XL car, this time, and drove out of the estate. And while negotiating a bend on the road, she sighted a supermarket and decided to buy a pack of diapers for the new born baby.

Couple of minutes later, she got to Andrew's house, she learnt they got married some months back, the naming ceremony had almost ended when she got there, all she caught out of the party was the baby's name which she refused to allow register in her brain.

While people dispersed out of the party, her eyes roamed about looking for Andrew and his wife, she asked one of the caterers who informed her they were probably in the living room.

Lisha met them there in the midst of few people. Immediately Andrew's wife sighted Lisha, fear gripped her as she tapped her husband.

"What are you doing here?" Andrew bellowed as Lisha walked up to his wife with a huge grin plastered on her face.

She didn't respond but rather touched the baby's hand, "You have such a cute son, abi, I should take him to my house?"

Andrew got up as Lisha raised her head and looked straight into his eyes, even though he was far taller than her.

"Leave my house now before I call the police," Andrew warned but Lisha scoffed.

"Maybe you've forgotten the police force are my family, anyway, I brought this for the baby," she raised the pack of the diapers at him before throwing it beside his wife who flinched.

"We don't need it," Andrew said and Lisha chuckled.

"I never said you were in need of it, anyway, what's that pumpkin's name?" she pointed at their son and Andrew's wife eyed her.

"My son is not a pumpkin"

Lisha brushed it off with a wave of her palm, "Whatever, what's his name?"

"Ilerioluwa (God's promise)," responded Andrew's wife and Lisha turned to her with a lingering smile.

"He should be Ileriesu (Devil's promise), that suits him better."

Andrew glared at her but Lisha turned to him and trailed her hand on his chest before smiling at his wife.

"Ileriesu, see ya," she walked out of their living room before anyone could say anything. She was the real devil.

Immediately, Nikki walked out of Folakemi's office, she banged smack into someone coming the other way. She jerked her head up and her lashes fluttered as she stared deep into his dashingly handsome face. He had the kind of face that stops one in her tracks, perfectly symmetrical face and mesmerizing dark eyes that made her knees weak and almost buckling under.

He had dark and full eyebrows which sloped downwards in a serious expression, his nose slender and delectable, a sculptor couldn't have fashioned his scrolled ear better, his oxbow lips made her heart thump. She observed his prominent and sharp jaw as her hand moved up slowly. Nikki gaped openly at the comely guy in front of her as her hand moved up out of her will.

"Hey," he called while pushing her back slightly. Oh gosh! That soothing voice and his touch, it made her think wildly. Nikki let out a shaky sigh as her face turned crimson, it was obvious, due to the fact that she was light- skinned just like her sister, they'd both inherited it from their father.

"You're the model right? Lisha's sister?" Jimi queried.

Nikki sucked in her breath before replying, "Yeah…Um…sorry for bumping into you," she stuttered and Jimi nodded.

"It's nothing, what's your name? You know I've forgotten and I don't want to keep referring to you as the model," he made an air-quote at the latter statement and Nikki's lips curved into a charming smile.

"I'm Nicole, Nikki for short," she disclosed and Jimi nodded.

"Nice meeting you"

"It's my pleasure," she punctuated it with a luring smile and he returned it with a small smile, he then shifted from one foot to the other before placing his hand on the door knob.

Nikki opened her mouth to talk but he walked into Folakemi's office before she could. Closing the door, she exhaled and grinned before walking away.

"This is so new, what brings you here?" Folakemi questioned immediately Jimi entered her office.

He sat on the couch before replying, "I need the list of the applicants"

Kemi squinted her eyes before standing up as she sat on the sofa adjacent to him.

"So, you can't send your secretary or better still make the request via email, hmm... why come all the way to the female section? I'm certain there's a reason behind it, you never frequent this end, so, spill it!" Kemi pointed out. She knew everything about him, though she wasn't as close to him as their younger brother, Folahanmi but she could read him like a plain book.

"Okay, you caught me, I wanted to see someone."

She narrowed her eyes before talking, "Hmmm, and who is this someone, bro?" She made an air quote at the latter word and Jimi smiled.

"Someone who has been on my mind since I set my eyes on her, you know she's like a mystery and I find it fascinating."

Awe transformed Kemi's face as she lowered her head, "Hmm, who could this my brother's goddess be?"

He smiled before talking, "Lisha"

Kemi's eyes popped opened to its fullest extent, "Ehn, tell me, you haven't crossed her path"

"I have and it was in the most unexpected way possible, can you believe she likened me to a driver and worst still an urchin? She even changed my name to gym," he babbled and laugh gurgled out of Kemi's mouth.

It took a minute before she finally stopped, "That isn't new, that girl is something else, with the way she's that small, she's a peat…"

The babble of talk died at her entry. Speak of the wolf.

"Well done." Lisha clapped sarcastically before sitting by the edge of Jimi's couch.

"Why did you keep quiet? Continue nau," she admonished and Kemi smiled.

"We were only complimenting you, Jimi was telling me how you disgraced him the first time you met," she told her and Lisha nodded before turning to Jimi.

"Gym, when did I disgrace you?" She pointed at her chest and gave him a compelling look.

Jimi scratched his head before replying, "Um… I can't really remember"

"Better," she shouted and the others flinched. How could she shout like that and yet she looked so tiny?

"I've got to go," she stood up quickly and Jimi shared a look with Kemi, so, she didn't come for anything at all.

Lisha turned to Jimi and smirked, "See ya, Gym." She ambled out of the room before any of the duo could say any word.

"She almost gave me heart attack." Jimi sighed as the bang from the door thinned down.

"I'm already used to her bouncy and winning self, she has been working here for close to four years," Kemi said and Jimi nodded.

"She's one hell of a person, anyway, I've seen her now, so, mail me the list of the applicants," he stood up and Kemi did the same.

"So, won't you collect it now?"

"Yeah." He didn't wait for her response as he walked out of her office. Lisha's thoughts crossed through Jimi's mind and all he could do was smile at her craziness.
