Chapter 29: Chapter 29

For days now, they'd been as different as chalk and cheese, Nikki had been giving Lisha cold shoulder though, Lisha had tried talking to her countless times as she wasn't someone to keep malice or grudges but with Nikki being as difficult as nailing jelly to a tree, Lisha got fed up and decided to ignore her.

"I'm hungry," Lisha shouted while glaring up at Jimi who was working on his laptop, ever since she'd entered his office, he'd only greeted her and went back to his work which in turn made her bitter. She didn't like the fact that he wasn't giving her attention but rather that inanimate thing.

Jimi didn't look at her but rather kept on working, that got Lisha pissed, so, she stood up and walked up to him.

She leaned closer to his ears before shouting, "I said I'm hungry."

He moved back quickly, "I just hope you won't destroy my eardrums one day," he turned back to his laptop.

Lisha glowered at him as his hands worked on the laptop, her eyes sighted the big pen case on the table, she decided to hit it on him but thought against then, then she went for the best option.

Plopping into his laps, she wrapped her right hand around his neck while using the other to move the laptop away.

"You don't want me to work?" Jimi queried as he stared deep into her brown eyes.

"Lunch time is almost over and we haven't had lunch," she eyed him.

"I'm not hungry, meanwhile, I have got lot of work to do, go and eat," he told her while trying to push her away from his laps but she wouldn't budge.

She pursed her lips while her face turned to a scowl, "I should go and eat alone?"

He nodded.

"If I should go alone, just forget about lunch and even dinner, I'll call Mama to starve you," she got up from his laps.

"Okay," then he turned to his laptop.

Lisha dashed him a killer look which he didn't fail to notice before she proceeded to leave the office, halfway to the door, she turned back and walked back to him before smacking his head.

"Ouch!" He groaned before touching the back of his head.

She ignored him and leaned closer to pull him up, after she succeeded in pulling him up, she gave him a triumphant smile before dragging him out of the office.

"Finally, you succeeded in distracting me," he said immediately they stepped into the elevator.

"Of course, my main purpose is to distract you," she replied while touching her crochet hair, one she'd done during the weekend with Soil and Kemi.

Soil had called her that day and had invited her to go with her and Kemi to the salon together, Lisha who was less busy and with Nikki ignoring her, she decided to go even though her braided hair hadn't lasted for two weeks after spending more than ten thousand on it but it was only a chicken change to her.

"Yeah, you're a big distraction."

"Right," she touched her tight black top that she'd worn on a white Palazzo trousers before spinning around while Jimi smiled. He loved the cloth on her.

Minutes later, they got down from the elevator and walked into the staff restaurant that was somehow empty largely because lunch time would be over in few minutes. Everyone had probably gone back to their work.

"What will you be ordering?" Jimi asked immediately they sat down as he waved at a waiter who walked to them with the menu.

"Where is the menu?" She questioned before the waiter gave it to her, skimming through it, she raised her head, "We're in the afternoon right?"

Jimi nodded.

"So, I'll eat Semo and vegetables, make it four wraps."

Jimi's eyes widened, "That four wraps is for the both of us," he corrected and the waiter nodded before leaving.

"Why did you tell him the four wraps is for the both of us?" She eyed him.

"You can't finish the four right?"

"Who told you that?"

"I told myself, I know you can't finish it, you're only trying to stuff yourself to gain weight, I love the way you are now though I admit you look like spaghetti," he jested.

Lisha picked her white handkerchief from the table and threw it at him and then he chuckled in return.

"Who told you I'm trying to gain weight or anything? I've come to like my figure and you like it too so whoever doesn't like it should just come and collect poison from me."

Jimi smiled, "So you have poisons? Who have you poisoned?"

She rolled her eyes, "You, I'm just surprised that you're still alive."

He chortled, "People like us don't die easily."

"Not when people like me are around you," she jested while he laughed.

The waiter interrupted them as he dropped their orders on the table, after leaving, Lisha stretched her hand forward to pick one wrap of semo from Jimi's plate but he slapped her hand away.

"Two is enough for you," he told her.

"I'll just order for another one," she hissed.

"Let's see if you'll finish the two first," he said before picking up the fork but immediately he picked it up, Lisha snatched it from him.

"Use your hand," she moved the water bowl to him, he squeezed his face before washing his hand while she did same. He didn't fancy using his hands to eat swallows even though Soil had tried forcing him on several occasions he preferred cutleries to his hand unlike his siblings most especially Kemi who could even eat her hand with the food.

As soon as Nikki walked into the restaurant, she sighted Lisha and Jimi at a corner, eating, talking and laughing, the acts got her under the collar, her forehead puckered as anger heated her blood, then she decided to join them.

"Hey," Nikki greeted with a wide smile as she sat beside Lisha who looked more than stupefied to see her, especially at that time that the staff canteen is usually empty. She grinned at Jimi who only smiled thinly before concentrating on his meal.

"I've been looking for you, I didn't know you were here," she turned to Lisha who raised her eyebrows, she was speechless so, she only nodded.

"Why would you be eating Semo in the afternoon, Lisha has really influenced you with her choice," she said to Jimi with a charming smile.

"Is it not a good thing for her to influence me?"

She pressed her lips together, "It would be better if it was in a positive way."

Lisha scoffed before turning to her, "Are you here to analyze our meal or to eat?"

Nikki eyed her menacingly before waving at a waiter, after ordering for Porridge and chunks of fish, she turned back to them as the waiter left.

"It would have been better if you had porridge just like me, you know Semo is something for dinner," Nikki continued still with her charming smile plastered on her face.

"I choose to eat what I want or rather get influenced by my Smallie's choice," he winked at Lisha who eyed him.

"I remember telling you to stop calling me Smallie, what type of boyfriend calls his girlfriend Smallie? Only you, my dumbass ass boyfriend," she shook her head to convey pity.

He smiled before touching his chest with his left hand, "I choose to do that, it's unique."

Lisha rolled her eyes, "Unique my foot, look for a better unique name."

"Like?"

"Can't you think?"

Nikki who was already getting furious by their display moved closer to Lisha and placed her hand on the table beside the plate of soup, glanced at Jimi whose eyes were focused on Lisha before using her elbow to push the plate of soup.

"Ow," Lisha shouted as the plate of vegetables fell on her laps staining her white Palazzo.

"What's that?" Nikki and Jimi asked in unison.

Lisha glared at Nikki who smiled crookedly at her while Jimi strode over to her side, after seeing the stain, he picked up the toilet rolls on the table to clean her trousers but she stopped him.

"It won't remove the stains."

"But you can't go about like this and I didn't come with my jacket."

"Don't worry, I'll change into one of the clothes in our production room."

"Will you walk like this to the production room?" Nikki interjected.

Lisha turned to look at her, "Why can't I? Whoever is affected with the stain can either walk up to me to complain about it or shut their filthy mouth," then she stood up and turned to Jimi.

"I'll just go to the production room."

"I'll go with you."

Nikki snapped her brows together before talking, "Won't you finish your food?" The question bring directed at Jimi.

"I have no business here when Lisha isn't here," he replied before placing his arms around Lisha's shoulder, Lisha smiled at him and they walked away.

"Shit!" Nikki slammed her hand on the table in fury as she glared at their retreating figure.
