Chapter 25: Chapter 25
"Here we are." I just came back to myself when he suddenly stopped the car.
"What are we doing at the carnival?" He just shrugged at my question. I closed my eyes tightly and wiped my face. Now has he really thought to roam?
"You don't seem to listen to the news, almost every week someone dies here and their faces are the same." I was still out of breath after he said this. I immediately picked up my phone and started searching about it at Bella Perya. I was even able to sit up to see the looks of the people he was referring to. Black eyes and lips. They look like people who have been inhaled by greed, maybe this is what the on in the hotel looked like before.
"See? They're going to close today. As long as we have time let's try to find an answer." I looked at Keir.
"Okay." I sparingly answer before removing the seatbelt. I was about to leave when I noticed his notebook. It was just thin compared to the first day I saw him. I wanted to ask, but he immediately hid it and came out. Maybe the notebook is getting thinner because he's almost to finish his mission?
He will leave after this, he will leave me. I went out and smiled to hide the sudden sadness I was feeling. I looked at Keir who was looking around. Do I want anything from him? I'll only get hurt when he leaves. He will forget everything, while I will be left with those memories.
"Lets go, it looks like normal people are having fun doing it." I could't stop myself from staring at his happy face. I know it's wrong, but I want to let myself fall. If I get hurt eventually, and at least I've experienced being happy.
"Of course especially if they're with the person they want." I happily clung to his arm while having a wide smile. There aren't many people here, maybe because of rumors they're scared.
"Let's try the viking?" I'm happy to be here. After all, he didn't feel like I knew he wasn't afraid.
"All right, anywhere you want." I felt like a child while clinging to his arm. After I paid we immediately rode to the very end.
"My God!" I clapped my chest because of the strength of the nervousness. The longer I don't ride here, the more I feel like my soul will come out. We've only had a few rides here, but it looks like it's about to start. My grip on the steel tightened as the only ones inside me disappeared.
"Hold on to me, you're always safe by my side." The noise started but my heartbeat was more dominant. It was beating fast but it wasn't because of nervousness, it was all because of Keir.
The viking was moving, but I didn't care about it because I seemed to be numb and brave with his smiles. Why does it seem like we've known each other for so long? Seems like I know him intimately every time our eyes meet? Who is this man? For whom does each think of it?
'Today the beautiful flower blooms and every look of the prince on the beautiful princess has no equal brilliance'
"You alright?" It was as if I had been possessed for a few seconds and only now have I come back to myself.
"I'm just nervous." Simultaneously holding my chest uncontrollable speed. I was so buoyant, I didn't notice that it was over, but why didn't I feel it?
"Where else?" It asked as we went down. Calm down Quinn! I don't know what's happening to me, I've been reading my lips before but it's too dry, I'm deaf to my heartbeat.
"I think we–"
"Sorry." I looked at the one who had hit me.
"Blake?" I smiled a few times and looked at Keir.
"You're taking a walk here? Don't you know the rumors? He really brought you here? This man doesn't seem to know how to keep you out of harm's way." His face showed scorn as he looked at Keir. Keir's expression changed quickly.
"Do you have a job here?" I changed the question and held Keir's hand.
"I'm handling the case of those who are said to have been inhaled, but I don't believe it. Maybe the killer just fabricated it so as not to be noticed." I nodded at what he said. Of course, he did not believe in ghosts.
"What did you find out?" I'm a little confused because of the way they both look. I feel like they fight anytime. Gahd More headaches again.
"All the victims come from the horror house, we temporarily shut that down and we are investigating the operators," he explains. His thick eyebrows and beautiful eyes, before every time I looked at it I could almost breathe, but now only a normal man is in front of me.
"If –"
I was stopped when we heard someone screaming from inside the horror house, Keir and I looked at each other before we ran there.
"Wait, you can't come in. What if you get hurt–" he didn't end when Keir suddenly pulled him away, and held me tightly.
"Why are you so mad at Blake?" I asked if we could enter the dark horror house.
"I don't like how he looks at you, it's like I want to pull his soul out." I even slapped him on the arm after saying it. I know he's not joking, because I know his voice when joking.
"Quinn." I was even surprised when Blake suddenly appeared next to me, I ignored him with Keir's hand. Ghad! What is it now?
We walked into this dark place and there was a scary sound. I used to be very boring every time we entered this place, but now I feel nervous. Anytime, I may encounter a bad spirit. Also, there might be a soul rivalry here with Blake and Keir. Pain in the forehead! My whole body went cold as I looked around, there were sudden shocks on the side, but Keir pulled it away, probably all the props here were broken.
"You think–aaahhhh!" Keir was immediately embraced when suddenly something fell from above. I was step back, so I couldn't stop screaming.
"Someone." I immediately looked at Blake when he said this. I picked up my cellphone for a flashlight, I was even pushed back to see its scary face.
"I mean he's just here." I bravely tore off the props just to see anything. But I was disappointed, he was just smart.
"That one might be fooling us, Keir said as we finally removed the props."
"What are you saying? Maybe the killer is not people who kill them, it's deliberately taking people's souls," Keir replied. Blake stood up and approached it, I immediately stepped between them.
"Are you crazy already? Does it look like there's another creature besides man? It's okay to be chastity. I don't believe in ghosts." Blake scoffed and pushed Keir.
"Blake, that's enough." I sighed here and held Keir's arm. Keir let out a word, but I could see the anger in his eyes. Be its jaw clenching and clenching its fist hard. Shit! I don't want to be stuck in this.
"Keir, do you–" I was stopped when Keir suddenly pulled Blake by the collar, his mouth still open. I was momentarily stunned to see how it seemed to suck into Blake's soul, which was slowly becoming lethargic.
"Keir, stop!" I tried to shake his arm while crying. I hate Blake, but never get to the point like this.
"Keir, please? That's enough." Blake immediately fell to his knees as he released it. I sat down to catch it, he was so weak that he seemed to be dying.
"Are you alright?" I asked tremblingly here, as I helped him to his feet. I even looked at Keir I couldn't fathom the reaction on his face.
"S-sorry," he said from his gentle voice. I didn't speak and just supported Blake so we could get out. There is a trace of weakness here so it is very difficult for me to support him.
"H-help!" I cried when I saw his colleagues.
"Blake!" Concerned one of his companions we finally fell to the floor. It was close and I could hear his heavy breathing.
"Give him a drink." I tearfully looked at the old woman who spoke. My eyes widened and my mouth dropped open to see who it was.
"Will you give it to him or he will die forever?" Carefully I took the small jar it provided, I applied it to Blake's lips. Moments later it coughed and looked at me.
"Blake, how are you feeling now" I concern question here.
"Just a little dizzy, w-what happened?" I smiled to see that he was somehow okay.
"You lost consciousness earlier. Rest first." I patted him and his two companions supported him. I also stood up and wiped the tear on my cheek.
"Thank you, Quinn." I just nodded to him and looked at the Goddess of souls.
"Thank you, it's good that you came." She smiled at me. I even looked around to make sure no one was next to us. Keir was probably left inside.
"It's a good thing you stopped him. If he continues what he did, he will face a very heavy punishment." I gasped after hearing this.
"Do you know who does this?" I asked again when he turned his back on me.
"I'm not the only one who knows him. You know him. Yes, you know him. You know him very well." It was as if cold water had been poured on me after hearing it from her. She left me with many questions in my mind, she left me speechless.
After a while I ran back inside to go to Keir, but I didn't see him. It was dark all around, but I could see the broken props.
"Keir!" I shouted inside as I parted the road. I don't see anything else here other than the clutter we made earlier.
"I was –" I was stopped by a sudden loud crash from behind me.
"K-Keir?" I asked nervously as I aimed my phone's flashlight at it. As I approached there my chest throbbed faster and faster. It's like I'm in a horror film and I don't know where the antagonist is.
"Ghost!" I screamed and jumped again when something fell from above.
"N-not that funny." I try to be bravevoice. I was about to speak when suddenly a black man appeared behind me. My breathing stopped quickly when it suddenly pulled me and threw me. My phone popped out after that, I also quickly writhed in pain caused by my hitting the hard object. The surroundings are dark and I can only see a shadow of it, it is a black spirit. I couldn't see his face, but its presence was so frightening. My hair stood on end as it came closer to me. I was even closer when he suddenly pulled me by the neck, causing me to have difficulty breathing.
"Help–" I was cut off as it seemed to suck all my strength. I was short of breath and I was fainting quickly. I wanted to fight, but I couldn't, I was dilated again and it seemed to take me to another time. The place is beautiful but I don't have much of a view. I heard the laughter of a familiar voice.
"In a garden, a flower is drenched in tears but it still manages to be an enticing one, despite its solitude floating in its own tears." Beautiful voice and melodious story of the woman.
"If by chance time repeats itself, I want you to be the first one I meet." This man's voice was familiar. I don't have much of a hint, but I know it has a happy and beautiful smile.
"This may be our first meeting. But you're not Florence, I want to get to know you as Keir where I don't have to share with Valeria anymore." I closed my eyes and opened it eyes again because I was struggling for breath. I was trying to get away but it was so strong, it was fading and I was completely weak when it suddenly disappeared in front of me.
I sat up and leaned back while still catching my breath. I still hold my chest trying to adjust my breathing.
"Quinn." I clung so tightly to Keir's arm after he approached me. I even swallowed because of the dryness of my throat. I want to speak, but I can't.
"We've already caught him." He said happily as he stroked the hair that was blocking my face.
"No, it's just one of his releases." I hesitated to look at the Goddess of souls while looking at his black book. I clung so tightly to Keir's arm, my vision gradually blurring.
Why did I see Renna and Florence again? And the name Keir, Renna gave. But how? Am I Renna? How did Florence and Keir become one and even they didn't know each other? What else do I not know? What else can I find out about my personality?
