"What do you mean you want me to kill Leonardo's mom?!" I slammed my hands on his table. " I'm sorry." I apologized when I noticed his straight face.

"You should use Leonardo to get closer to his mom." He suggested ignoring my outburst. "Get him to invite you to his house and then observe her before you do what you are supposed to."

" Why did you think to tell me that the person I'm about to kill is his mother?" My voice suddenly went down.

" Because it would be beneficial. Why do you feel strange? You won't disappoint me will you?" He narrowed his eyes at me and I shook my head.

" I-I will do it." I reassured him. "He's a pig though! I learned he tries to have his way with other girls."

" I don't care, just get it done!" He threw a smaller envelope at me which landed on the table. " That's an advance, so better do it. Do it and your father might live."

For my father. I'm sorry Leonardo.

I grabbed both envelopes and Rose to my feet.

"I'll do it. I'll get close to Leonardo and I'll do it." I reassured him while trying to reassure myself that I'll actually be able to do it.

When I got to my car, I closed my eyes and took a deep breath.

Why does being assigned to kill his mom hurt me so much? I kill other people's mother's quite easily but yet I feel a strong pain in my chest for even thinking about it.

He's a bastard who tries to manipulate and assault young girls, who knows what his mom is like? I mean for someone to want her dead she must have done something.

"I have to kill her. I need the money." My eyes darted down to the passenger seat where the brown envelope filled with cash was placed.

When I got home, I was scared Keith would be waiting for me but he left which is good because I am not in the mood for silly talks.

"Rie did you go to work?" Iris questioned when I entered inside the house.

"Rie, Keith waited for you but he left because he had some urgent work."

" Rie did you visit a friend?"

Why are they all talking at the same time?

"Can you all just shut up for one second?!" I sighed and they still went quiet for like one second.

" Are you alright?"

" Did something happen?"

" Why are you upset?"

" Can we not do this right now?" I let out a tired sigh.

I walked up to my room and locked the door from the inside then fell on my bed.

The appropriate thing would be to not get close to Leonardo so I don't get my emotions mixed up in this but Boss wants me to get close to him, why? To make me suffer?

I loosened my ponytail then ran my hand through my hair.

What am I thinking? If I don't do this my father would suffer the consequences. I have to.

He's a pervert who you just met like a month ago and surely you can't risk your father's life and your sisters. It's most likely that if I don't kill her, they'll probably get someone else to do it.

I woke up to a very calm house. First we had breakfast in silence and then there wasn't the usual fight for the front seat today.

They probably still think I'm still upset.

"Are you feeling better now Rie?" Iris asked from the backseat while I used the mirror to look at her.

" You just couldn't keep your mouth shut for thirty minutes." Cassie rolled her eyes and shook her head.

" I just wanted to sure she was okay!" Iris raised her hands in surrender.

" I'm fine, I was just tired last night." I replied to her and she smiled.

" We wanted to come up to your room but Lia didn't let us." Cassie reported.

" Wow Cass," Thalia rolled her eyes.

" I'm glad you're alright." Cassidy replied from behind.

"And I'm glad you all started talking again, you all are really my support system." I confessed and they all went aww.

" Okay, that's enough." I fought off the smile creeping into my lips.

"Bye." Cassidy waved as she made her way inside the school.

"Bye guys!" Iris chirped after kissing her goodbye.

"Now are you going to tell me what's wrong?" Thalia eyed me as I started the engine again.

"It's the usual. I got a job." I confessed.

"Yesterday was different, what type of job was it? Why did you look so upset?"

I looked upset?

" Who cares if I looked upset? It's really not like I have much of a choice."

" I care, we all do. You can just leave if you want to."

" It's not that easy Lia, I can't just up and leave! It's complicated."

" We can take care of dad together. It's going to be alright." She smiled.

Only if it were that easy.

" Have a great day Lia!" I chirped as I parked my SUV in its usual spot.

" Change the subject all you want but I'll always remind you that you're not alone in this!" She informed me as she got out of the car. " Have a great day too Rie and if possible get Leonardo to come and visit Iris and I miss him." She waved and went her way.

Can the universe stop throwing Leonardo in my face?!

I avoided Keith all through our common classes and left for lunch immediately the bell went off so he wouldn't be able to catch up with me.

As usual I had lunch at the garden in school.

In the middle of my lunch, I noticed Leonardo, walking towards my direction? He kept his eyes glued to his shoes the whole trip.

"Hey." He greeted.

"Hey you too."

"I want you to know your happiness means the most to be but if I don't tell you how I feel, I feel like I'd be burdened with too much. First I'd like you to know that you don't need to tell me anything, just knowing I told you will be enough for me." He took a deep breath before continuing.

" I-I really really like you Riona. I like that you're smart and that you know how to defend yourself. I like how close knit you send your sisters are. I like how strong you are with everything going on with your dad." He confessed, a faint pink stain on his cheeks as he lifted his eyes to meet mine.

My heart is beating fast like it's about to jump out of its position.

"Like I said, I respect that Keith makes you happy and that's why you're dating him and all. I just wanted you to know how I felt that's all." He frantically waved his hand.

Dating? How can he just stand there and lie but still give me goosebumps. At least now I will be able to confront him.

As he stood there with a flustered expression, I burst into laughter.

"Really?" I asked in between laughter causing him to look at me with a weird expression. "Is that what you always tell the other girls?" I completed my statement.

" What?" He wore a confused look.

" Why don't you stop pretending for one second?" I got up from the bench and moved closer to him.

"Can you just be direct?" His voice broken with a slight tint of anger.

" I mean is that what you tell girls like Fiona and Kara?" I hit his arm.

" Kara? Who's Fiona?" He looked further confused.

" Stop playing dumb! Are you surprised I know about them? You must really think I'm some sort of an idiot."

He froze and stared at me with wide eyes.

"Who is Fiona and what does Kara have to do with this?"

" I know you tried to have your way with her, you piece of shit!"

He took a step back.

" It's one thing to reject me but it's another to make me out to be some type of pervert! Screw this! I apologise for bothering you." He groaned and walked away.
