Chapter 89: Chapter 89

Chapter 89

Xavier's Pov

I cried openly for a long time; I was broken, and for the first time, I gave up. I wiped away my tears.

"Can you put an end to his suffering? without causing him pain?" Kris, who was standing behind me, did not respond.

I stood up in pain and turned my face back at him, hoping for an answer that would be painful to hear. With his teary eyes, he saw the pain in my eyes at my worst.

"He's already taking his final breath." Kris's voice broke.

"Make him sleep before he feels any more pain," I said, unable to look at Levine in pain.

"I can't," Kris said, her eyes welling up with tears.

I looked over at Ruth, who was crying quietly and shaking her head.

"Please, Xavier," Ruth said with a broken voice, not wanting me to take any action

"Is there anyone here to assist?" I was terrified and asked when I lost my energy.

I kept an eye on them when nobody responded and they were crying. Nobody was willing to volunteer.

As a single tear fell from my eye, I took the pillow from the bed and said, "I can be the one to end his misery."

"Xavier!  What are you trying to do?" Kris was nervous.

"I can't bear seeing him suffer like this." My voice was throbbing.

"Don't kill your blood when you'll be sorry later," Hamza stated quietly.

"I would be happy to save him from pain." I could not stop my tears.

I was gathering the courage to put the pillow on Levine's face to give him peace when he was begging to die, but his soul could not leave his body.

When his breath became a curse for him, I could be the one to set him free. I never imagined I'd meet him like that when I was desperate to keep him with me in the pack on his every condition.

His breath was in my hand, and I decided to put an end to his suffering. when all of my hopes were dashed. I never imagined that the brother I had been looking for for years would be the one to finish his life and die in front of me.

My hands shivered as I placed a pillow near Levine's face to provide him with relief from his cruel life, which was becoming a burden to him. when my face was drenched in sweat.

Ruth began to cry openly to divert my attention away from her voice. She was struggling to approach Levine and protect him from me, but pack members were stopping her.

Was it right for me to give my brother the peace he deserved, or was it my fault for taking so long and wasting my time in the false hope of saving my brother?

Levine was having a difficult time in the world, and my heart turned to stone the moment her tears lost their value. I was only hoping for his tranquility.

"No, Please!!"  Ruth was crying as I ignored her "Stop it, Xavier."

Ruth and Levine had been the pack's best pair since childhood; they were best friends, grew up together, and had a deep understanding of each other.

When they were kids, my mother used to say that their bond was stronger than anything else in the world, and most of the pack members knew they were made for each other.

He was fighting for his life with every ounce of hope and breath he had when her hopes and dreams were shattered.

I wish Levine had met me and talked to me because I had so much to say before he left me alone in the world.

"Xavier, I beg you, please leave him alone," Ruth begged.

When the weight of his breath fell on me, my heart cried.

I placed the pillow on his face.

"Help yourself by letting him go," Adam said as he walked towards me from across the room.

"How can I possibly let my brother go? He is suffering, and I want to end his misery," I said as I faced Adam.

"Don't take the blame on your head for his last breaths; you'll regret it anyway," Adam said quietly.

"You have no idea how difficult it is to watch a family member suffer," my voice trembled.

"Don't take his breaths away, which he is struggling not to give up," Adam said, taking the pillow from my grasp and putting it away.

I felt guilty for even considering killing Levine, which could be justified in some cases but is murder in others.

I couldn't face Levine any longer, so I left the room during a panic attack. The breathing was labored, and the eyes were teary.

I had no idea how I was going to save Levine, and pack members were looking at me with sympathetic eyes, which I despised.

To avoid their gaze, I began running outside the mansion and ended up inside the dungeon.

I didn't want to go, but it was the only place where no one could see my tears. I was walking in the dark nonstop.

"I have not seen you often in the darkness." Marina's voice interrupted my thoughts as I walked inside the dungeon.

When Marina's gaze was fixed on me from behind bars, I turned around.

"What's the big deal?" Marina inquired.

"What exactly do you mean?" I inquired.

"You've never gone to the dungeon for no reason, and the deal keeps you coming back." Marina mocked

"What exactly was Levine doing in their territory?" I inquired when changed the subject.

"Why don't you go ask Levine?" Marina made fun of me.

I was silently staring at her when she became hesitant.

"I don't know, but all I know is that you betrayed me and gave me away to that monster; he was so close to me when I never let any man get closer to me before, except you." Marina was enraged.

She was hurt by my betrayal because she was still hoping for my approval of her.

"How did I betray you when you were in my dungeon? Still with me," I said as I approached the bars.

"Why are you here?" I inquired as to when I realized she would not tell the truth.

"Aren't you overjoyed to see your brother?" Marina inquired.

Marina's gaze was fixed on me as if she were about to devour me.

"What did the Nightwalkers pack do to you that you thought you could exact revenge on them by using me?" I inquired as to when she was using Levine as an excuse to complete her mission.

"What exactly are you talking about?" Marina's voice was trembling.

"You used me to start a fight with the Nightwalkers pack in the name of Levine; you had no reason to give me information about my brother," I revealed, revealing that I was aware of her plan.

"I wanted to give you your brother, whom you—" Marina was interrupted in the middle by me.

"Stop fooling yourself into thinking I believe whatever you say," I announced.

"You jerk, I made a lot of sacrifices for you, and you're saying this to me. How selfish you can be!" Marina was enraged.

"Do you think telling me about Levine will make things better between us? What are you attempting here?" I inquired as to how long she would remain a mystery to me.

"To be with you, you knew how much I loved you all the time. You never-----" Marina was crying when I cut her off in the middle.

"I am a married man."

"She is not your true mate; she is not even the bride by the law's pronouncement of wonder; she is just a random girl you married," Marina explained.

"Who said?" I inquired as to who provided Marina with the information.

"Wouldn't you have already boasted if she was your true mate or the bride by law?" Marina inquired.

"Stop thinking about me and start living a life that will end soon," I threatened.

Marina grabbed my hand and placed it around her neck, saying, "Kill me if you can."

"You will regret provoking me," I predicted.

"Will she die for you? I can." Marina's sad voice and innocent eyes seemed sincere to me at times.

"This is insane," I said as I took my hand off her neck.

"That could be; call me whatever you want, but you are the only one I would be with, and I will wait for you until my last breath," Marina said emotionally, never backing down from admitting her feelings.

"Don't wait," I said with no emotions

When she begged for my affection.

"Have you ever considered me? Love me as much as I love you? Ever? Isn't it true that you could feel my love for you somewhere?" Marina was determined to pursue me at all costs.

Marina was crossing her hands over my torso, wanting to open my shirt but giving me some space before she began heavily seducing me.

She was a seductress and a queen of flirting.
