Chapter 65: Chapter 65

Chapter 65

Sansa's pov

I couldn't believe Adam was standing in front of the wild creature when its scream echoed throughout the jungle. I saw no hesitation on Adam's face as he held the sword that had already been stabbed into it, causing pain.

The creature's head was spinning as Adam tricked it by switching sides in speed after taking his sword from it. Adam crept up behind a creature and slaughtered its neck with ease.

The creature was screaming in agony, and the volume of its voice was fading as its body collapsed like a heavy building. Adam used a small towel from his pocket to clean the blood from his sword and threw it on the creature.

Adam came running over to me. "Are you okay?" Adam inquired as he extended his hand to me.

"Still alive," I said shakily while holding his hand and standing up.

"Did it hurt you?" Adam inquired about my brain injury.

"Anything can happen in survival," I said, avoiding his question.

"What exactly are you doing here?" He inquired.

"When I heard the noise coming from the jungle, I assumed someone needed assistance when I was the one who needed it the most," I explained.

I was inspecting a minor injury to my elbow from a fall on the ground.

"I apologize," Adam said softly.

"Thank you so much; you saved my life," I said gratefully.

"I saw Xavier running towards the jungle; he's not doing well," Adam explained.

"What's the matter?" I was intrigued.

"Vera opened the west gate; there are creatures all over the jungle; it's dangerous out here; I am glad you saved 'til now," Adam expressed his gratitude.

I didn't have time to pick up the knife from the ground near the old tree. We were both walking away, keeping our eyes open for any danger.

"What made Xavier run here?" I inquired because I was curious about Xavier's reason for being here.

"Xavier!!"  Adam rushed over to him as soon as he saw him and stowed his sword.

Adam was checking on Xavier.

To stop the bleeding, he removed his scarf from his neck and wrapped it around Xavier's stomach.

Adam expressed concern: "He lost a lot of blood."

"Xavier might run into that creature," I attempted to lie, which was unnecessary at the time.

"I told you, it's dangerous out here," Adam said as he handed me his sword while carrying Xavier on his shoulder. Adam is moving faster to save Xavier.

He interrupted my mission while also saving me; he was honest with me from the beginning.

Five hours later

You must have been lonely and heartbroken; I could feel how much you were hurt.

A broken heart was difficult to carry around, as was pretending nothing happened when your mind and heart became hostages to the cyclone, which rolled all of your emotions and left you with nothing but emptiness.

Would you hold my hand, as if it were a cold night, and put my hand in your pocket to keep my hand warm?

There was no time when I didn't think about you; would you still look at me the way you used to?

Would you ever consider me?

Would you still love me the way you used to? Logan, do you still want me in your life?

I lost myself loving you.

When I was sitting on the chair, my attention was drawn to Xavier, who was sleeping soundly in his bed with his wound already treated. I haven't gotten any sleep since yesterday.

I never wanted him to come back; it would have been a victory for me if he died as a result of my attack in the jungle. Nobody could ever catch me if there was no evidence. I would have been free by now if fate hadn't intervened. My true adversary was fate.

My gaze was fixed on him as I silently reached for the drawer next to the bed. I held my breath as I slowly opened the drawer.

I took out the pistol and checked that it was fully loaded except for one bullet that was missing. With shaky hands, I slowly aimed the pistol at him.

I did not give up and dared to attack him once more. I had the best chance of finishing him off in his sleep. I was prepared to shoot him without regard for the pistol sound or the location of the sound after I fired the bullet.

When I was blinded by hatred and greed and wanted to kill him for my freedom, I had no idea how Oak Pack would react.

My heart was racing, I was nervous, and a drop of sweat was slowly falling from the side of my brow. My hands were trembling as I aimed at Xavier; I had never used a pistol before and was worried about missing the target.

I placed my finger on the trigger and was about to pull it. The sound of a knock on the door When Amara entered the room, I hid the pistol in my black coat pocket.

"Haven't you slept?" Amara inquired.

When I was in excruciating pain, I shook my head.

"Kris has already told you there's nothing to worry about; he's fine; don't worry; get some sleep," Amara said.

"I'm fine," I explained slowly.

"You don't appear to be in good health," Amara was discussing my head and elbow injury, which was treated by Kris 5 hours ago.

"You need to rest; go to my room and sleep; I'm here with Xavier; I'll look after him," Amara said softly.

"All right," I said as I exited the room.

While I was approaching Amara's room, pack members were debating about the west gate in the hallway.

I felt cold, and my body began to shiver, and a cold smoke emerged from my mouth.

Hearing Vera whisper "Sansa" could be a coincidence.

"Come to me..." I was looking around to see where Vera's voice was coming from.

"Sansa!!"

"Are you able to hear the voice?" I inquired from a random pack member.

"Voice? Which voice?"

Vera was whispering in my ear, Was I hallucinating? Or was that a result of my head injury?
