Chapter 18: Chapter 18
Chapter 18
Xavier's Pov
Levine left me after a week when I found him; he left to exact revenge on Oberon, the Alpha of the Blue Shadow Pack, who murdered my family; however, I was the one who exacted revenge on Oberon; after that, I waited for Levine to return to me, but he never did.
Only Levine remained in the family after my parents. I had been looking for him for 9 years, and the last time I saw him in New York before reaching out to him, he had left the area, possibly knowing that I was coming to get him.
Was that Levine's reason for getting rid of me? Why did he never want to return home? Why did he keep avoiding his responsibilities and his pack? I was ignoring those thoughts to meet him as soon as possible.
In Levine's case, I wasn't sure whether to believe my enemies or not, but ever since Marina told me about him, my mind couldn't stop thinking about him, and I lost the peace I thought I had.
I had a lot going on in my head. I had so many questions for Marina, but I knew I'd only get a few of them answered. I was on my way to the dungeon when Edward stopped me.
"Have they managed to melt you with their lies?" dissatisfied Edward appeared.
"I'm just curious about Levine's location."
"They're deceiving you," upset Edward insisted.
"Even if it's a lie, I'd like to know," he noticed that I was desperate.
I couldn't stop myself from running to my enemies in the hope of seeing my brother again. I was blinded by the desire to find Levine; lies or truth didn't matter at the time, but the seed of courage I discovered did.
When I heard Levine's name, my heart, and mind told me to give it one more shot, even though I had been looking for him for years. Edward would not understand the emotions of a brother because he had never had a family and had never experienced them.
I entered the dungeon, and Marina moved over to the bars as she saw me approaching her. Edward was attempting to shield me from the web she was weaving to entrap me. He accompanied me to the dungeon.
"I thought I wouldn't see you again,"
she said in husky tones.
"Tell me the exact location of Levine."
"Do you believe me?" inquired Marina.
I noticed she wasn't angry, but rather calm.
"I'm just curious about the location you have in mind."
"I've had a lot on my mind lately; do you want to know everything?" her inebriated eyes were scrutinizing every inch of my body.
"Stop wasting your time, Xavier; they have nothing to say," in rage, Edward advised.
"He's demotivating me from doing good," cleaver Marina teased.
"If you dare to lie I—" Edward's words were cut off by her.
"You gonna kill me. I know that; I'm afraid of death, so why would I lie?" Marina was making fun of Edward.
"Stop asking her if you don't trust her," Felix said from another prison.
Edward warned Felix. "You shut the fu** up."
Felix laughed because he knew Edward was sensitive and easily triggered.
"The more he tries to silence the voice, the less truth will be revealed," with chuckles Felix countered Edward's statement.
Edward was attempting to restrain himself from doing anything that could cause problems for all of us. "Do you want me to snap your neck? Motherf*****, you filthy bloodsucker."
"Do you think about Tina?" Felix crossed the line. The statement that was driving Edward insane was delivered to him with demonic eyes and an evil smile.
In his rage, Edward lost his mind and stormed into Felix's prison, where he began to beat him while Felix laughed, which enraged Edward even more. I couldn't stop Edward because he was consumed by vengeance.
Edward was losing control as a result of his hatred. "You deserve to die."
I was watching Edward go insane with rage and exact his revenge on the vampires. I knew everyone wanted to kill Marina and Felix, but they waited for my approval first.
"Your brother is in danger; he is fighting for his life." He'll die soon," cleaver Felix drew my attention.
"Who is responsible for that?" I inquired.
Felix was constantly enjoying, testing our patience, and pushing us to our limits. I entered the prison, grabbed his hair, and pulled another side; he was looking up at my terrifying eyes at the time.
I forewarned him. "Tell me before I break your neck and pour your blood on my plants. My pets are hungry, and I can feed them your body."
"I would be the one to kill him," in rage Edward said.
"Your dog barks a lot," Marina teased Edward, who was easily triggered.
"You shut up, bi***; I'm not going to take a second to split your neck from your body," Edward warned Marina, his voice venomous.
Before Edward attacked Marina, I grabbed his arm and pushed him away. He was blindly vengeful and unthinking. Marina was my last hope for finding my brother. Edward was destroying everything with his emotions.
I advised Edward. "Get out."
"However, they—" I cut Edward off.
"GET OUT!" I yelled at Edward.
I didn't care how badly anyone wanted to kill Marina; getting the location from her was the most important thing to me.
"I wasn't expecting you to take my side; I like that," in husky tones, Marina said.
I said, "Get to the point," giving her a chance to speak."
"I was on a hunt with my friends when I met Kevin in the south of Demacia, and he asked me to convey his message to you," explained Marina.
Kevin Gibson, a beta from the Oak Pack, was sent with a team to the west side of the Demacia 15 days ago to settle matters when the associated Moonlight Pack was fighting another pack. As a backup, they required an Oak pack.
What was Kevin doing in the South? Why did Kevin choose our adversary to deliver the message, and why did she agree to deliver it to me? I couldn't tell if she was telling the truth or not, but she knew something about Kevin.
"Kevin told me that he saw the Night Walker pack imprisoning Levine," she said.
"Why?"
Marina notified me by saying, "Kevin didn't say anything, but Levine isn't safe there."
There was something fishy going on, which she handled well, and I didn't ask too many questions that she would lie about.
I was perplexed by her visit. "You came to inform me of this? I would not believe you if you said you risked your life to deliver your enemy's message to your enemy."
She didn't say anything for a second, but she started with her naked red eyes, which hadn't left me since I entered the dungeon.
Marina's sweet voice was soothing to my ears. "Come here."
I didn't move an inch as I tried to figure out what was going through her head.
"I'm not going to bite you," she said, smiling.
I approached the bars where she was standing, and she placed her frozen hand on my cheek. She was putting my patience to the test, but I tried hard to remain calm. She flipped her long, straight red hair away from her shoulder, grabbed my hand, and placed it on her weakest spot, the left side of her neck.
"It's been so long since I touched you," she was flirting with me
She was stroking my face tenderly with the tips of her frozen fingers. I could feel the coldness passing through me as she grabbed my collar with both hands and pulled me closer to her white, glassy face, which was like a mountain covered in heavy snow, and she looked into my eyes with red wine-intoxicated eyes.
She unbuttoned the top three buttons of my shirt, her bare, soft hand resting on my chest. I could see the lust in her eyes. She was desperate for me.
"I want to put an end to the feud between the Demonix and the Oak pack, which is preventing two souls from becoming one. You have no idea how much I missed the smell of your scent, the sound of your breath, your masculine, warm body." her seductive voice was poison to me.
She was attempting to compel me to react to her actions, but I wasn't even in the game. I grabbed her waist and drew him closer to my face. She was having fun and wished to be closer.
"You said you came to kill my bride, but you jumped on me like a wild cat. What is your exact plan?" with a calm voice, I inquired.
Marina appeared to be someone else; her brother's death had not awakened her from the long-awaited dream of having me in her life, as she had always desired.
Marina was about to kiss me when I grabbed her hair and pulled her away from my lips. "To keep you close, closer."
"It's me who has been protecting you up to this point; how are you going to face the boiling blood of crazy werewolves who are going insane to take a bath in your blood when they don't care if you tell the truth or not?" my calm voice triggered her.
When her wide-open eyes were staring at mine, she took a step back, but I pulled her close to show her where she belonged. She was having a good time until I warned her. I got to her ear.
in her ear, I said, "If you're playing tricks on me in the name of my brother, then I should end the game here and kill your cousin Felix in front of your eyes, then burn you alive in front of those who are thirsty for your blood since you brought me here."
She broke free from my grip. My threat caused nervousness, which caused her to suffocate near me; I could feel her body go numb, and fear overtook her.
"Who's going to play tricks when their life is on the line? Levine is in peril, and only you can save him."
She was avoiding eye contact out of fear when she realized I would not forgive her lies.
I teased her. "You have no idea what I'm going to do with you if you disappoint me."
"If you get your brother, you will let us go unharmed," she begged as she realized I would kill her in an instant.
I said, "Deal."
I walked away and noticed Edward standing nearby; he had overheard our conversation, and I was afraid he would not stop telling the pack about My Deal with Marina; the conversation should have been kept private.
