Chapter 80: Chapter 80

An Hour Before;

Somewhere in Abuja.

"Hello, it's me, Mario." A hoarse voice sounded over the phone.

"Mario?! Where are you? How far?"

"Things didn't go as planned but that godvim still alive. I need to receive treatment as soon as possible. I'll need your help."

"Don't worry Mario, I'll send you to somewhere in China. You'll receive good treatment and live a beautiful life, I promise." Alhaji Musa muttered over the phone."But where are you now?"

Under Mabuchi bridge. Let's meet there as soon as possible. I'm looking a lit of blood already buy I managed to leave Wuse.

Good. That's good. I'll meet you there in a couple of minutes." Alhaji accured as he cuts the call and quickly grabbed his keys.

'Oh Lord, Mario is alive? How did he manage to escape?' Alhaji Musa thought as he jumped into his big, black jeep and Zoomed towards Mabuchi's road instead of going to his office.

It was just 6:30am in the morning but Alhaji Musa was ready. Nobody must know he's still alive else, he would be exposed. For some reasons, he already feels exposed but first things first. He needs to clear up this obstacle.

30 Minutes Later...

Alhaji Musa had already got there. There was a shade at the back of the humpback bridge. That was where Mario managed to lean on. His vision were still blurry but he managed. His body was dripping of blood and it was glowing in a thin, straight line in front of him. Mario was already doubting if he would make it or not. Going back home would be a sucide mission. Of course, he knew the police would be after him, they won't hesitate to kill him. Especially now that he has killed the Superintendent.

Just then,Alhaji Musa's car packed at the corner as he walked to where Mario was.

Oh my God! You're seriously bleeding. I'll call a fried of mine to treat you before leaving. You can't travel with bullets on your body.

Okay sir, let's go. Mario said as Alhaji Musa helped him up. Just then, he looked at him and said "hey!"

Raising his head forward, Mario saw Alhaji Musa painting a gun towards him. Immediately, he felt shocked almost freezing where he was standing, still dripping blood.

Mario's blurry vision cleared a bit to gun. "W..what's it sir? What wrong have I d..done?"

"You've done enough already. I'm sorry but I'll have to take your life now."

"Please don't harm me." Mario begged and tried to take his gun from his side pocket.

He was fast enough to pull the trigger and there was a loud Poooof!

Alhaji Musa's eyes looked red from the anger boiling in his heart. Mario suddenly dropped shaking like a ram being slaughtered for Sallah. A wicked smirk finds its way to the elderly man's face.

Still bleeding as if he didn't want to die. Alhaji Musa walked towards him, staring at him in a pitiful manner.

"So sorry Mario, I didn't even plan to send you abroad because you've benefited enough from me." He rained more bullets into his brain as Mario died horribly. He made sure there wasn't any chance of survival for the miserable guy. There was a lagoon by the side if the humpback bridge. He pushed Mario's bloody body into the ditch as water took him away.

'Work done, mission accomplished.' Alhaji Musa placed another smirk on his face before going into his vehicle. Just about to turn on the engines, a call came in.

He picked up and it was his secretary, Mrs. Lydia.

"What's it?" His deep voice sounded over the phone, sounding annoyed as usual.

"Umm... The police are here. They're asking if you. Where are you sir?" She asked.

"I'm on my way to the office. Tell them I'll be there shortly." He answered her, taking a small white towel to clean his hands and face.

He dropped his phone somewhere between the gear lever and the hand break before holding the steering wheel.

Meanwhile, before he leaves. He calls his lawyer to explain issue with him on his to defend his case with lies and bribery.

His lawyer, Barrister Kingsley has a share in his business property as to do whatever he wants, whenever he wants it, in order not to tarnish his image. That had been a deal to cover up all his wrong doings. Well, nobody knows about this, it's been between the two of them.

"Getting back to the office, Alhaji Musa got arrested. Are you going to be alright? What's happening sir? You're innocence right?" Mrs. Lydia asked with tears in her eyes. She knows nothing would ever be the same if her boss is being arrested.

"Don't worry, Lydia. Things would sought itself out. Just take care of the company till my arrival." He explained as he stretched out his hands to be handcuffed.

Well, he didn't argue or tried to explain anything to the police men. He knows he was guilty but what exposed him was Scorpion. He'd fucked up big time but this didn't make him panic whatsoever.

"Bye now. Take care Lydia." He mentioned before leaving the office.

They look him downstairs as other workers were confused. They didn't seem to fathom what was happening. Alhaji Musa had a serious face though, but he followed the officers. Walking outside, they took him into their van that was already opened for him.

'Too bad, I have to go through the embarrassment. All thanks to Scorpion I trusted and hired.' he said to himself as he got into the vehicle.

Getting into the police van, the siren sang along with him as they drove away. Staring through the window as they left; Lydia couldn't help but to shed more tears.

'Oh God! Please save my boss. I know he's into different kinds of dirty games and he's not a saint but please... Let him come back in one piece. I don't want this business to fall apart, I've spent almost half of my life working as his secretary. I wouldn't want to go jobless because of this.' she whispered to herself. Wiping away the lines of tears on there face.

Going back to work was normal but knowing that Alhaji Musa was imprisoned brought her more worries.

'Like seriously, only God knows what he's done this time." She hissed to herself.

Meanwhile, Alhaji Musa was taken directly to the prison along with Scorpion to wait for judgement. Although, they weren't locked in the same prison, the both of them had regrets flooding out of their minds

Alhaji Musa was so pissed off but he didn't say anything to Scorpion. Trying to argue would just expose him more and making things more difficult for him to bare. Hopefully, Barrister Kingsley and his other friends in the judiciary system would help him out of all these.

Days later,

In The Court Room.

Everyone were seated including Humaira and Barrister Edward against Alhaji Musa and barrister Kingsley.

After lots of questioning and answering. Zainab and the driver from the other day testified what Mario did. He kidnapped Hadee that afternoon, along with Scorpion who didn't know where exactly they took him too. There wasn't enough to prove that Alhaji Musa actually sent them.

Although, that day he came home late, Alhaji Musa's Albino gatekeeper testified that his boss went to work because he didn't see any child.

There was a long discussion on the issue but the judge cane to a final conclusion.

"Since the kidnapper in charge of the boy is dead, investigations would be carried out by the Nigerian police force to find the missing child. As for the armed robbery incident that took place five years ago; You will be produced in court tomorrow for the planned of Dr. Azeezah's death. This court orders Alhaji Musa Adamu to be reminded to judicial custody for 15 days while Simon Darlington aka Scorpion is sentenced 10 years in prisonment."

No, this isn't right!" Humaira cried but he judge has already given judgement. Something is wrong somewhere. Barrister Edward says to her. I'm sure he had planned for this before hand. What are we going to do now? He asked.

"I don't know. I'm as confused as well." Humaira retorted. The police officers walked Alhaji Musa into their patrol van. It was just so unbearable. He had an evil smirk planted in his face.

Turning to him as they walked him out if the courtroom, tears escaped from Humaira's eyes. She hated him so much, yet, she don't know how to bring him down. Every single time she fines a way, he gets Webby and stronger to avoid the punishment he truly deserves.

"Come on Humaira, let's go." Barrister Edward said to her.

Just then, barrister Kingsley walked to where she was, looking at her with his black-devil eyes.

"I'll advise you let go, young lady. You're too young to drag yourself into his pool of dirt."

"What are you insinuating, Barrister?!" Humaira fired at him.

"I feel you should have come up with a better proof. And you know, Zainab isn't enough. You're a lawyer, you should be wise enough to understand things now. My father-in-law, the judge won't hesitate to pull you down. Especially when luck isn't on your side."

"Shut up Barrister Kingsley! You're in no position to speak to Humaira like this!" Edward defended. Watch your language Barrister Kingsl_"

"Oh! I see..." He cuts into Edwards words even before he said his mind.?"Isn't it obvious? So who are you to her now? Her bodyguard? her guardian? No, her husband?" Barrister Kingsley rolled his eyes at them disgustingly with a simper before walking out.

Humaira watched him, heartbroken. She wished Alhaji Musa would be sentenced to death. As if he haven't done enough to her and Zainab already. Now, she have to face so much embarrassment with the hope that Hadee would be found.

"Don't worry Humaira, everything would come to light." Barrister Edward tries to convince her.

He held her by the shoulder as he helped her up.

"Come on, let's go now."

Humaira wiped away her tears as they stepped outside. Zainab was waiting for her but the door. She rushed to give her a tight hug immediately they meet.

"Don't worry sis, everything would be alright and we'll find Hadee." Zainab encouraged her words with a small smile.

Humaira was shattered. The court didn't handle the case as she expected. She just walked out of the courtroom.

Outside the court were reporters and investigative journalists trying to find out with truth. As Humaira stepped out, they rushed to her.

"Ma, which jail is he going? One man asked. Will you ensure he goes behind bars?"

"He heard he kidnapped your son? How sure are you about that?" Another woman asks as Humaira raised her he'd to answer the reporters.

"I'm here till the charge sheet of his case is filled."

"What about your missing son? Is it true that Alhaji Musa Adamu is the father of the child?"

Humaira's eyes blared at the questioned as her heart skipped a bit, but, she was strong enough to give a reply.

"Don't ask me questions on rumors without getting the facts right. I'm a single mother a single mother and I'll do whatever it is to find my son. Although, there's no evidence on who actually sent the kidnappers since the so called Mario is missing. But, I promise to find whosoever is behind this. And remember, people believe anything published in the press, first. Their trust in you is so please, be factual on what you see and report."

She find her way into her car as Zainab followed.
