Chapter 76: Chapter 76

"I must go to Gwagwalada to report myself to the police." He muttered.

"I can't let an innocent girl suffer like this. Only God knows if she survived that hit, Mario gave her."

The morning was warm and beautiful. Simon, a.k.a Scorpion was so upset about the dream, it felt so real.

'I still can't believe I got beaten by Zombies and I'd managed to survive death. Who knows what would happen next? What would happen tomorrow if I don't confess today?' He thought, fighting with the hysteria in his head and rubbing a healing balm to the wipes and stripes over him, making him look like a black and red stripped zebra.

Looking so horrible, Scorpion tried taking his bath that morning but it felt like hell. He just had to put on his clothes and set off to the police station. He didn't even bother taking his breakfast or calling Mario. The scenes of the dream were still playing before his eyes.

Without wasting time, he sets out and locked they door. Off to submit himself to the Nigerian Police Force.

On getting there, the other passengers stared at him as he moaned and hissed from time to time. Some even covered her nose and avoided any for of contact with him not to get infected but who cares? Who fucking cares? All in his mind is to CONFESSS...

In no time, Scorpion got to Gwagwalada. He boldly walked into the police station.

'It was already 10:37 a.m, the D.P.O should be on seat.' scorpion thought as he walked in.

"Good morning sir." He greeted one of the officer he first met. He was a constable.

"Morning, how can I help you?"

"I'm looking for the D.P.O. is he around?"

"Why do you want to see the D.P.O?" He constable wore a small frown. "What's your relationship with him?"

"It's very important sir., is on seat? I need to see the D.P.O today." Scorpion blurted.

And why do you want to see him?! You can just walk in here to meet the D.P.O without an appointment at least. Are in in anyway related? The officer asked.

I want to tell him something. I want to confess. I want to give a statement!" Scorpion hissed.

"Just tell me what it's about, I'd take it down for you and hand it over to the D.P.O whenever he arrives."

"I won't tell you what it's about until I meet the Superintendent of Police! I saw his car parked outside and I know that he's in! Look! I need to see him immediately. I know he's in his office so help me inform him please. Take me to meet him so that I can confess!" He complained in a high pitched tone.

"Stop making noise already, Mister! Don't you know where you are?! Are you crazy or what's with your mendular!"

"You police officers! Why are you so difficult to handle? Later, you'd call yourselves our friends! When what you mean is the opposite!

"Watch your mouth Mister!" The constable warned with raged lacing his thick, musculine voice.

Too bad, He had injuries all over his body. And he wants to end all his bed ways else, he'd have thought the constable some senses that morning.

Hearing the noise, a sergeant came out from an office.

"And what's happening here?!"

"No mind am o! He just come dey para say he won see oga!"

"Who are you and what do you want?" The tall and slim looking sergeant asked him in a low voice.

I'm Simon but people call me scorpion. I'm a murderer. In fact, I and armed robber and a kidnapper as well.

Mr. Felix, the sergeant observed him closely. Looking at the harsh, deep cuts on his body was quite frightening but who in his right mind would come open to report himself as a murderer?" The sergeant watched him in astonishment.

"You're a murderer?"

"Yes! I've killed a lot of people for payment. That's what I do for a living but now, I want to change. I want to face the consequences and get out of these mess. Living is unbearable for me, I'm scared, if I don't confess today... I might die tomorrow. I'm still you and there's still a lot of time for me to live. Please, let me in, let me see the D.P.O so I'd be able to say what's on my mind?" He begged.

Dumfounded, Mr. Felix asked him to take a seat.

"Wait for me, I'd inform him immediately." The sergeant stuttered and went to inform Officer Bamidele about it.

"What?! Are you sure he's not a mad man? A random man just burged into our station and you listened to him?" He asked.

"He's not mad sir and I feel he has a lot to say. Should I let him in?" He asked, standing in attention.

"Yes, let him in." Officer Bamidele instructed as the sergeant turned to obey.

Scorpion was allowed to meet the D.P.O. At last, a felt a urge of relieve flowing through him.

"Good morning Mr. D.P.O" Scorpion greeted as he entered.

"Nice to meet you. What's your name. I'm Simon but my friends call me scorpion."

"How can I help you, scorpion." Officer Bamidele started.

"I have a lot to say but I want to give a statement. I want to what's on my mind and I need to give a report."

"What's it about exactly? Please go straight to the point. What are you here to reveal?"

"A kidnap happened along Lugbe road three days ago. A 5 year old boy was kidnapped. Well, I'm responsible for that. I'm the kidnapper."

"What?!"

"Yes. Although, I wasn't the only one. I have a colleague. We executed the plan together."

"Do you work on your own or someone sent you?"

Scorpion let out a light chuckle and rolled his eyes at them.

"How can I work on my own? No, definitely not. I only work based on orders. I receive contracts before executing any plan."

"So who sent you?" The D.P.O poked closer. "Who gave you the contract?"

Scorpion too looked closer and studies the man's face. He knew he was only interested in knowing who sent him. Well, scorpion wasn't interested in that. The only thing he wanted was to see Zainab's face. To ask for her forgiveness before exposing anyone.

Look here Mr. D.P.O... I'm not here to tell you stories. I would give you two names. Alhaji Musa Adamu. The founder of COLFOLDS Company and a girl called Zainab.

"Zainab?"

"Yes, she's his daughter."

"I think he abandoned her or something. I'm not sure of whatever but I'm more interested in meeting the girl."

"Did Alhaji Musa gave you the contract? Is he responsible? And... Why do you need this girl?"

"I've offended her so much, I need to ask for her forgiveness. I've hurt her so much, and my life is ruined because of the wrongs I've done. I came here because of the Zainab girl. Please, I need to see her. I need your help officer?"

"Why are you so determined to see her? What are your reasons?"

"I molested her five years ago. That isn't the point right now but I can't sleep....I keep on having terrible nightmares. Last night, I almost got killed by Zombies!"

"Zom-bies?" Officer Bamidele expanciated.

"Yes... very terrible looking Zombies." They wiped the hell out of me last night."

Tears welled up in his eyes as he confessed. 'My bed was wet with tears, sweat and urine... I've never experienced something so much torture and agony in my life!"

He told officer Bamidele about the nightmare and the other officer took down his statement. The D.P.O tried to process the content of the dream and wondered how serious this must be.

"Take off your shirt." Officer Bamidele ordered.

Scorpion took it off immediately and everyone were wowed with what they saw... Deep cuts from wipes. This alone was already enough punishment for him but he was scared if night again. To sleep... What if he had the same nightmare? What if they kill him this time?

Perhaps, it doesn't matter if the cause is a dream or a real experience; our brain responds similarly.

Officer Bamidele crossed his hunger and intertwined his hands on the table, focusing on Scorpion.

"Who did you say sent you?!!"
