As we got inside the parlor, Hajiya Halima sent Abida to call her brother AKA my new boss. The event of earlier flashed in my head. He thinks just because he owns the house, he'd do whatever he likes then he's mistaken. I will surely find the answers to my question. Snapping myself out of the thoughts, my eyes went to the guy who was seated calmly In front of Hajiya. I took my time to access him more. As Abida said he looks crazy but also handsome. He's not fair but rather chocolate in complexion and his skin doesn't look a bit like someone who is in suffering. I  noticed something from his side pocket. A whitish thing. A little of it was visible, It was as if he knew I was investigating him with my eyes as he turns his face and our eyes met instantly. I was supposed to pry my eyes away but instead, I stared back trying to read something from them. He has that kind of eyes that makes you stopped on your tracks. A shade of light brown and black. No, I'm not attracted to him but there's something about him that I'm curious to know.

The sound of footsteps emerges from the stairs. Our attention went to them as Ahmad and Abida walk towards us especially Ahmad himself. He was walking majestically as if he's scared the ground will swallow his feet. I avert my eyes not missing the scowl on his face. But for who? my inner mind asks me.

"You call for me mother," he said. Taking the seat opposite the guy while he folds his palms together. Boring his eyes onto his mother.

"Yes, Ahmad. I offered this young man here a job to be your driver. He said an accident occurred that result in his document to get burnt so since you're also looking for a driver, I think he will fit the job" she explained calmly. Ahmad's eyes dart to the young man, he stared at him for quite a long time as if trying to make out something.

"Your Name?"

"Sadiq Hassan"

"So Sadiq which university did you graduated from and what do you major in," he asked.

"I graduated from Ahmadu Bello University and I major in Surveying and geoinformatics" my head snapped towards him hearing him say Ahmadu Bello University. I always wish to school there but luck wasn't on my side, so I had no choice. He went to such prestigious school but ended up like this. Such is life.

"That's good. I know my mother has already discussed with you so I will just get straight to the point. Miss Amina" he called. I and Abida look at each other and she shrugged in return. When did he even know my name? I'm suspecting the guy.

"Yes," I retorted readjusting my sitting position ready to listen to whatever he has to say.

"Since we didn't get to discuss your job, we will settle everything now. As my father said, you will be working for me as my Secretary. I hope you know what that means?" he inquired. I have a feeling the new boss of mine has a disrespectful side to him. What does he take me for? why wouldn't I know what a Secretary means? At this time, I wish Aesha is here with me, she would've given him a piece of her mind too. It's not like I wouldn't be able to but for now, I will maintain myself.

"Yes," I let out slowly getting a nod from him in return and a thumbs up from a grinning Abida.

"There are some certain rules if you want to work with me and if you abide by them, you're good to go. So, you're expected to be at the office early morning and make sure all my schedules are well organized. I like punctuality. Meaning you have to dress neat and appropriate. And you're not to leave the office without my permission or without any sole reason. If you will abide by these rules then we're all set" he completed flinging his hands in an 'I don't care manner' what's the use if I don't abide by the rules beside I'm here for the job.

"And for you Sadiq, you will have to live here. I leave early morning and it will make your job easier. If both of you accept the offer then we're all set"

"Yes," we both said at the same time. Ahmad rises up from his sitting position. "Mother I will step out for a bit" he speaks up in a stagnant voice.

"Sure. I will take care of the rest" he glances at me before walking past us and within a minute, he's out of the parlor. And now back to Hajiya Halima unending question. I'm beginning to be exhausted from all the interrogations. First the father, second the son and now the mother. This family is surely something.

"Is there any problem Amina?" Hajiya Halima's voice shot through my ears.

"Yes?"

"You've been heaving out a breath. Do you have any problem staying in the house?" her expression was dim with worry which reminded me of my mama. I'm missing home badly. Getting out of my little reverie, I focus my attention on the woman whose eyes were on me waiting for me to answer her question.

"No Madam. I'm okay" I said letting out a smile. The woman nodded her head as if my answer will make any changes to her.

"Masha Allah. I know you guys will do a good job. Don't mind Ahmad, at times he tends to act ignorant but I assure you, you will enjoy working with him. Though the secretary's job will be a bit hard because my son is a workaholic. He barely have time to rest but I know he wouldn't be hard on you Amina. I wish you the best of luck."

I muttered an "Ameen"

"So Sadiq, what will we do now about your stay here. Are you bringing your sister along or what?" she asked Sadiq who was looking at a particular place for almost five minutes. God knows what he's thinking about.

"He can just bring his sister here. Then we will be three ladies" Abida cheerfully said.

"Come on shut your mouth there. Did I ask you, let him speak for himself" their mother exclaimed. Abida's grinning self was replaced with a frown.

"Um... Hajiya no need for that, we are staying together with one of our Aunt so she will just stay there since she's still in school" he tight-lipped answered.

"Alright then"

Sadiq rises up. "Um... Hajiya I will now take my leave. Thank you so much. I will never forget your kindness"  Hajiya Halima let out a smile rising up too.

"Ka gode ma Allah (Thank Allah) you are to start tomorrow so I will collect your number just in case" Sadiq fished out his Nokia touch light phone as he dialed the number Hajiya Halima was calling out for him.

"See you tomorrow then" she ushered.

"Insha Allah. Bye," he bade to us. I didn't miss the blush on Abida's face. Seriously, the girl is really something. What is she blushing about? After Sadiq is out of the house, Abida turns to me grinning ear to ear.

"Amimi the guy is hot fa. It surprises me that he's this poor"

"What is it with you about the guy or do you perhaps...." her eyes widened when she realized where my words are heading to.

"Kai Amimi, I don't have any feelings for him. I just find him handsome. Better than Yaya Imran but no

more than Yaya Ahmad. He's my favorite brother."

"Wai what are you gossiping about Abida. Amina don't mind her fa, she's a trouble maker." The woman said she was now back to pressing on her phone.

"Haba Mom. I was just telling her something" she grumbly explained.

"Oho dai. Amina later Imran will take you for shopping" Hajiya declared openly.

"Okay. Thank you so much Hajiya for the kindness. May Allah continue to bless you abundantly."

"Ameen Ameen I'm delighted with your prayers."

"Follow me Amimi, I have a lot of designer clothes for you to choose from" Before Amina could react to her words, she was being dragged away.

"You won't  believe how everything went according to plan." After my little fake act at Abdallah's house, I went back home with a victory smile on my face. Finally, one plan down. And now I was seated in my room explaining to my friend Sadiq about my plans. Yes, I used his name. Sadiq took a sip of his Fanta. "Wow man, you're such a liar. Now, what is your next plan or target?" The left of my lips twitched up remembering the brown-eyed girl.

"There is a girl I met there, she is a guest and I have a feeling she would be of use in my plan in the future" I uttered. I was now dressed In my normal clothes.

"Man, I can not believe you. So who is that girl?" he asked.

"I'm yet to know. So I have a new job for you. I have to know from where she is or how she's related to them. Abba Abdullahi is a cunning man so as his son in fact all the family. So If I want to execute my plans smoothly, I have to get close to the girl since she would be working as Ahmad Secretary, things will be easier for me." A new idea forms in my head.

"By getting close to her what does that implies?" I throw a glare in his direction. Sadiq asks too many questions but I won't blame him. Perks of being a journalist.

"What does that imply to you as a journalist?" I replied back with a question. Sadiq stared at me wide-eyed. "You mean you're going to-"

"Yes, you're right. I will make sure she trusts me and I will use the opportunity to execute my mission"

"Nabil, I don't think its a good idea. You will just hurt her feeling. After trusting you. You only think about yourself, don't involve innocent people Into it. I don't-"

"Sadiq!. I don't want to hear any more of your advice. If you're not helping me then let me be. I don't care. I will make them pay and that's my promise. Excuse me" without waiting for his reply, I sprinted out of the room. That's his problem. We always argue. Whenever I bring up a plan, he tries to advise me on what to do and not to do. I don't care. Even if I have to go to any extent, then I will. Nobody will stop me.
