Chapter 248: Chapter 248

As we walked into the living room with the four of us, Lucy guided me towards the kitchen but before we actually entered it, she stopped me and pointed at my choker. “Don’t you want to take your choker off while you are here?”

“It makes no difference for me. I can feel my… appendages… with or without my choker on.” I scratched near the choker’s lash.

“But wouldn’t you want to be your true self around us? I take it you don’t wear it in your own house either.”

“Mom…” Sam was already prepared to came to my defence but I couldn’t really do anything but smile at what her mom had just said.

“Your mom is right, Sam.” And with one swift motion I unhooked the choker and put it in my pocket. “Just need to remember to put it back on when we leave again.”

My ears and tails had appeared for my de-facto parents in law and Lucy didn’t waste a single nanosecond to pull me close to her and to pet me between my ears, scritching behind them real good.

Of course my body couldn’t do anything but start purring, especially because her scent, for obvious reasons, was almost identical to Sam’s and on top of that she was warm and nice to boot.  Get full chapters from 𝙣𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙡~𝙛𝙞𝙧𝙚~𝙣𝙚𝙩

“Mom, my girlfriend!”

“She’s so cute, isn’t she?”

“Weren’t you two going to make food together?”

“Nothing’s burning.” Sam’s mom then started rubbing my back slowly but with a bit of force behind it. “I’m just cherishing her.”

“I don’t mind.” I replied, almost drooling because of Lucy’s incredible embrace.

“Of course you don’t, you are practically melting in her arms.” I couldn’t see Sam but I just knew she was pouting.

“Pretty sure I already melted.”

Lucy chuckled and then released me. “Sorry for that. Now, let’s get on with the food, shall we?”

I needed a couple of seconds for my brain to start running again. “Y-yeah.”

“Sam, could you come over to help cut some of the final vegetables too, or do you want to help your dad with the churros?” Lucy had gone into business mode so fast that the whiplash between her embrace and this sheer focus almost made me think we were looking at two different people. But then she smiled at me with such brightness that that clearly was an illusion.

“Sure, I’ll help dad, if you stop teasing my girlfriend.”

“Alright.” Lucy nodded and finally led us to the cookware as Carlos came to the kitchen as well.

“Sorry for the hectic start of the evening, Amicia. We are just so exciting to see you.” Carlos patted me on the back as he walked past me to his dessert preparations.

“Ah, right. I always get that wrong.”

“I don’t mind. I like the vibes here.” I smiled. “Even if there is a lot of energy.” I took a couple of veggies and Sam’s mom showed me how she wanted them cut after which I started doing as she requested. “Is English still hard for you? Sorry if that question sounds inappropriate. It’s just that I figured you have been living here for a very long time already.”

“My brain is still wired in Spanish.” Carlos replied with a cheery chip in his voice. “Sometimes the English verbs just don’t… work.”

“When we first met, Carlos tried his very best to learn English just so he could communicate with me. Even though I was pretty fluent in Spanish.” Lucy started to recount.

“How did you two meet?”

“I was doing an exchange program with a Spanish school, back when that was still a thing, and Carlos was the son of the baker near where I had my lodgings.”

“It was love at first sight, cariño. You can not believe how hard my heart pounded the first time we talked.”

“He forgot to close the bag of bread as he gave it to me and accidentally dumped it on the floor in front of three customers." Lucy started giggling.

Carlos laughed and rubbed the back of his head. “I can still feel the smack my mother gave me because of that.”

“I love that story every time dad tells it.” Sam comments. “It’s so sweet.”

“Did you then end up going on a date together or did that take a while longer?”

“Well, I did feel a bit guilty as it was pretty obvious that he screwed up because of me. But it did take us a couple of weeks longer before we finally went on a date together. I did end up profusely apologizing for him getting tapped on the head.”

“It was the worst ice cream parlor in the region we went to because it was very cheap, but it’s still one of my favorite places on earth because of the memories we made there.” Carlos was just beaming as he told us this. “It’s such a shame people can’t really live there anymore. I’d love to go back one day and see what has become of it.”

“I don’t know if you want to do that, dad. Some things are better as a memory than being overwritten with something negative.”

“Maybe that’s true, Mi vida.”

Lucy and Carlos then told me a couple more stories about how they courted each other when they were younger, to the point of getting stopped by Sam right before they got to the spicier details, although I’m certain they would have stopped by themselves and they were just teasing their daughter a little.

“Do you need to go home immediately after dinner, Amicia?” Lucy asked as we finished up with the final touches on the food. Having taste-tested some samples it was going to be the definition of sublime.

I shook my head and shrugged. “No, we can stay for a bit, I just need to message my sister what the plan is and she’ll be fine with anything.”

“Good, then we can show you some pictures of small Sam together with some videos as well. Having small Sam basketball was really a precious sight to behold.”

“I would like to object to that.” Sam raised her hand. “I would rather…”

I put on my cute kitten eyes and the best pouty lip I could muster, stopping my girlfriend’s complaints dead in her tracks.

Sam sighed and shook her index finger at me. “I think this is an unfair relationship. You know I can not say no to you when you look at me like that. I would be less then human if I told you no at this point.”

“Does that mean you are going to join us?” I continued pouting at my girlfriend.

Sam sighed once more. “Sure… I’ll watch Sam - The Movie with you and cringe myself to death. But I will be expecting at least some compensation for this later on this evening.”

“Ohoh?” Lucy chuckled and brought her hand to her lips.

“No! Mom! Not like that! Ami is ace!”

“That’s not what I was thinking about Samantha, you already told us that about Amicia after all. You are merely incriminating yourself here.”

“Argh.” Sam grumbled, looking at me for some help.

“We will discuss the trade later.” I smiled.

“Are you two ready for dinner now?” Carlos asked, breaking our little lovers' bout.

“I’m always ready for food!” I replied enthusiastically.

“Alright, the table is already set, so let’s bring the food to it and start digging in.”

We all carried pots and pans over and took our seats. Lucy set up some nice Spanish music in the background and then gestured at the food. “Feel free to eat as much as you like, but do try to leave a little bit of space for the churros.”

From the looks of the delicious food, that was probably going to be the hardest task this evening, but a task I was happy to take on myself.

And I am happy to report that I succeeded in keeping a bit of space in reserve for the beautiful churros that Carlos made with a little bit of help from his daughter. Although I have to admit, I was incredibly close to failing that quest as the food had just been so amazing. The Fabada Asturiana was a very pleasant surprise as I hadn’t eaten it before, but right now it probably ranked in my top ten of best dishes I have ever eaten in my entire life. Such intense flavor thanks to the high quality chorizo and bacon Lucy had used for it. Amazing. If I could give out Michelin stars, she would easily be a three star restaurant in my books.

“Would you like to take some of the food with you for your sister and Nikki?” Lucy asked. “I’ll pack some up for you after we are done with the churros.” She didn’t even wait for me reply, already deciding that I was going to take food with me, if I liked it or not, although I obviously didn’t mind and neither would my family.

“And you can take some of the churros with you too, we also made way too much of that.” Carlos winked.

“Make sure you got some leftovers for yourself as well.” I smiled at their offer.

“Don’t worry, there will be more than enough for us to eat this food tomorrow as well. And that’s after giving our neighbours some food too. ”
