Chapter 497: Chapter 497

Eleanor Sterling pushed open the door and entered, not seeing Alaric Faulkner anywhere. She heard the sound of running water from the bathroom.

She guessed Alaric Faulkner was taking a shower.

Having her own pharmaceutical laboratory, Eleanor knew that developing a potion was no easy task.

Although Mrs. Faulkner had given her the potion, she didn’t intend to publish it under her own name.

She came to find Alaric, planning to have him find their laboratory’s pharmacist and tell him she would publish this potion under his name.

After a long while, the bathroom door opened, and Alaric Faulkner walked out, his body still damp.

He was wearing a navy blue bathrobe, tied with a large knot at the waist, his tanned skin subtly visible, very alluring.

Eleanor slightly shifted her gaze away from his chest and said, "I have something to talk to you about."

Seeing Eleanor Sterling upon coming out, Alaric was slightly surprised, but when he noticed Eleanor’s shy expression and averted gaze,

his mood soared. So, Eleanor was embarrassed?

He thought she wouldn’t blush.

Alaric Faulkner stepped forward with his long legs towards Eleanor, who was sitting on the edge of the bed, and pressed her beneath him.

"What are you doing? Let go of me."

Alaric held her close, pulling her into his embrace as they lay together, his large form pressed against her.

At such close proximity, Eleanor immediately felt the defined muscles beneath his skin.

He whispered in her ear, "Can’t even cuddle or kiss a little?"

Listening to his provocative words, Eleanor felt a bit embarrassed.

Eleanor pushed his hand away, "Stop fooling around, I have something serious to discuss. Let me go first."

Eleanor looked speechless.

Talk ? In this position?

Him lying behind her, holding her waist, his head resting on her shoulder—is this a position for a conversation?

Eleanor grabbed his hand, then shrank back and slipped away.

Alaric had no choice but to sit up on the bed, looking at her, he asked, "What do you want to say?"

After the moment of struggle, Alaric’s robe had loosened, revealing more of his chest, exuding a lazy allure.

Eleanor deliberately ignored all of it, then took the potion Mrs. Faulkner had given her out of her bag and placed it on the table.

Alaric saw this and raised an eyebrow, "A potion from the Faulkner Family’s pharmaceutical laboratory?"

Noticing the Faulkner Group’s label on it, he recognized it immediately, not knowing that Mrs. Faulkner had done such a thing.

He only knew that Clara Thornton had invited Eleanor to the pharmaceutical conference.

"President Faulkner, this was given to me by Grandma. She asked me to present it in my name at the pharmaceutical conference, but I know how difficult it is to research medications.

So I still hope to present it under the name of the actual pharmacist from your laboratory."

Although Alaric didn’t catch everything she said, he picked up on the key point.

His thin lips curved upwards, his smile deepening gradually.

Then a deep voice sounded, with a hint of teasing, "Grandma? Eleanor has already changed how she addresses her? So, when will you change the way you address me?"

Eleanor was choked up, as if her tongue had been tied, she couldn’t say a word.

She had been so focused on discussing the matter that she didn’t pay attention to these details; addressing her as Grandma was a strong request from Mrs. Faulkner, not her own choice.

Alaric was being too mischievous. She didn’t believe he didn’t know, yet he deliberately teased her. ᴜᴘᴅᴀᴛᴇ ꜰʀᴏᴍ n̷o̷v̷e̷l̷f̷i̷r̷e̷.net

"Call me husband?" Alaric raised an eyebrow.

Eleanor glared at him, "Shut up."
