Chapter 224: Chapter 224
Eleanor Sterling turned her head to look over, and it was Alaric Faulkner.
She couldn’t help but roll her eyes, "Mind your own business."
Alaric’s cold gaze swept towards Jasper Faulkner, and the latter immediately fled in fear without a second glance.
Watching Jasper run away without hesitation, Eleanor felt utterly speechless.
She turned her head back and glared at Alaric.
"Why are you here? You should’ve gone back to the hospital to lie down after the show."
Alaric chuckled in exasperation.
He shouldn’t be here, then who should? Jasper Faulkner?
This woman proactively approached Jasper but drove him back to the hospital; she was truly heartless.
"My wound hurts," Alaric said in a low voice.
Eleanor had initially thought he was talking nonsense and glanced at him casually, but saw cold sweat dripping from his forehead, indicating he was indeed holding out with great effort.
"Why haven’t you died from the pain yet?"
Dragging his body around without recovering fully, it was a wonder he managed this long.
Seeing Eleanor’s attitude finally soften, Alaric continued using his ruse of self-harm.
He gave a gentle smile, "I came to see you."
Eleanor was stunned, and her heartbeat suddenly accelerated at his low, soft words.
He did those things for her, and she wasn’t unaware; she had just been deliberately ignoring and suppressing her emotions.
Just to see her, he came even in his condition.
Ultimately soft-hearted, she showed concern and said, "Let me help you to a chair to rest; you should call Elijah Hayes to take you back to the hospital."
"Okay," Alaric nodded.
He had no intention of leaving; he was just feigning compliance.
Eleanor stepped forward to support him, and Alaric slightly curled his lips, putting all his weight on her.
Feeling the sudden weight, Eleanor shot a cold glance at him, "Are you so hurt that you can’t even stand?"
Alaric put on a pained expression, groaning softly.
He seemed convincingly uncomfortable.
Eleanor gritted her teeth, suspecting he was faking it, but she couldn’t possibly drop him to the ground.
Meanwhile, in a corner.
Disguised, Faye Sterling and Rosalie Ray mingled with the guests, watching Eleanor and Alaric’s intimate interaction, causing Faye’s face to turn green with envy.
She wished she could rush over immediately and slap Eleanor, scolding her for seducing her man.
But now wasn’t the time; she had to hold back.
Fuming, Faye trembled all over, taking several deep breaths to suppress her anger.
Rosalie said, "Faye, don’t worry, I’ve arranged for reporters and even set up a live broadcast.
Eleanor is about to lose all her reputation; we’ll announce the paternity test right away."
There were plenty of reporters present today, and Eleanor hadn’t set up any barriers. Plus, with so many celebrities here, even if she wanted to stop it, it was nearly impossible.
Eleanor had just helped Alaric to the resting area when suddenly, a large group of reporters appeared, immediately surrounding her. The rightful source is novèlfire.net
"Miss Sterling, someone online has exposed information about your child. What’s going on?"
"Is it true that the online rumors about the paternity test with The Warren Family have been released?"
"Is your child really President Warren’s?"
"Did you leave Veridia City back then because of Mrs. Warren?"
A barrage of questions turned Eleanor into the center of attention.
Seeing this, Hazel Langley immediately stepped forward to protect her.
With experience dealing with reporters, she maintained a stern face, speaking in a cold, strict tone, "Spreading rumors carries legal responsibility. Don’t speak without evidence!"
