Chapter 194: Chapter 194
Seeing that Alaric Faulkner was fine, Eleanor Sterling brought over what she had prepared and opened it in front of him.
"You probably haven’t eaten anything and must be hungry, right? I made some easily digestible food, so just make do with it."
Actually, Eleanor’s cooking skills were great. Ever since Alaric followed Caleb and had a few meals at her place, he couldn’t forget about it.
The simple dishes she mentioned looked quite appetizing.
"Are you going to feed me?" he shamelessly asked.
Eleanor took a deep breath and didn’t refute him.
Accepting her fate, she picked up the chopsticks and fed him the dish.
Alaric curved his lips into a smile, feeling genuinely pleased.
Seeing his fox-like triumphant smile, Eleanor’s face darkened, and she gritted her teeth: "Are you going to eat or not?"
He was truly shameless, taking advantage of her heavy guilt to have her serve him; but once she got what she needed, he’d be left on his own.
Alaric thought it was best to stop now, and ate obediently.
Eleanor watched him coldly and said, "I thought it over afterward; you really didn’t need to block the knife, it was too risky, and there were other ways to handle it at that time."
"I didn’t think much; I just didn’t want you to get hurt." Updates are released by novel★fire.net
With just one sentence, Eleanor swallowed back all the words she was going to say next.
Some things were really not suitable for further discussion; their relationship was already becoming increasingly precarious.
She needed to cool down, to maintain the balance of the tilting scale.
Eleanor quieted down, which made Alaric dissatisfied; he asked, "Why aren’t you talking?"
"Talk about what? Just eat..."
"Not that sentence." He looked at her with his deep eyes holding an unreadable emotion.
"You don’t believe what I said? My first reaction at the time was exactly that; doesn’t that prove my heart towards you?"
Eleanor turned her head away, refusing to look at him, "It’s not that I don’t believe you."
Alaric was about to say something more when the door of the hospital room suddenly knocked.
He frowned unhappily, "What is it?"
No sense of awareness, they couldn’t see that he and Eleanor were together? How dare they come to interrupt?
When Elijah Hayes pushed the door open, he saw Alaric with a face as dark as Hades.
His cheek twitched; it was not his intention to disturb, but someone had come, so he had to report.
"President Faulkner, Mr. Sun the butler has arrived."
As he spoke, Butler Sun came in with several insulated food containers and, seeing Alaric already eating, was slightly stunned.
However, Butler Sun still spoke, "Young Master, Madam asked me to deliver you some food."
After speaking, he put all of them on the table and explained, "These were specially made for you under Madam’s instructions."
When he took out the last container of soup, he added, "This is a health soup Miss Faye made specially after she returned."
Upon hearing this, Eleanor raised her eyebrows, looking at Alaric with a trace of mockery in her eyes.
Seeing the likes of Faye Sterling around him, she could dismiss what he said to her earlier as hearing them out the window.
Catching Eleanor’s mocking gaze, Alaric’s face turned dark immediately, and his sharp eyes landed on Butler Sun.
He spoke to Butler Sun, "You can leave now."
"Yes, then I’ll leave first. Young Master, enjoy your meal."
Not knowing how he had offended Alaric, Butler Sun left with cold sweat all over him.
Eleanor put down the chopsticks, "Since you have love soup to drink, there’s no need to eat what I made."
"Wait! Who told you to put down the chopsticks?"
Alaric tried to rise slightly, and Eleanor quickly pressed him back by the shoulder.
"You still have injuries. Don’t move around."
As she spoke, she swiftly pulled a few strands of hair from his head.
