Chapter 192: Chapter 192
Eleanor Sterling stood up and walked out, and Estelle Sterling hastily asked, "Sister Eleanor, where are you going?"
"I’m going to buy some groceries to cook something and take it to Hades Faulkner. You stay home and don’t run around."
Estelle’s face lit up with joy, "Are you moved by his life-saving grace and decided to offer yourself in return?"
Eleanor rolled her eyes, "Stop talking nonsense."
Bam, the door closed.
Estelle touched her chin and started analyzing the situation.
Knowing Eleanor’s character, she would certainly be moved by Hades Faulkner’s actions, but offering herself seemed unlikely.
There was just one possibility: Eleanor had come to her senses and started to suspect the blood type matter.
Thinking of this, Estelle was worried and called Liam Keene, repeatedly urging him to keep it a secret.
Liam patted his chest in assurance, allowing Estelle to finally breathe a sigh of relief.
Alaric Faulkner lay reclining on the hospital bed, as his wound was on his back and lying down would press on it.
Mrs. Faulkner and Faye Sterling were by his bedside, concerned about him.
Caleb Faulkner quietly hid in a corner, looking at this hypocritical woman, Faye, with a hint of disdain in his eyes.
Alaric looked at Elijah Hayes and asked, "Where is she?"
Everyone knew who he was referring to.
Elijah quickly answered, "The Eldest Miss Sterling has already taken Estelle back."
In the meantime, Mrs. Faulkner had previously captured her, something Elijah didn’t dare mention in front of Mrs. Faulkner.
Unexpectedly, Alaric asked about Eleanor as soon as he woke up, making Mrs. Faulkner and Faye look extremely displeased.
Faye wiped away tears and said, "Alaric, I’m so glad you’re okay. I was always worried about you."
Mrs. Faulkner said with some lingering fear, "Even Dylan Lawson wasn’t confident in performing surgery for you. Fortunately, Dr. Sally was here, or you would have been in danger." This text is hosted at novel·fire.net
Caleb interjected, "Daddy, Dr. Sally was invited by Eleanor’s mommy."
Estelle had instructed that Eleanor’s identity must not be revealed to others, not even to Alaric, but the little guy still spoke up for her, wanting Alaric to remember her goodness.
Faye clenched her fists, her face darkening slightly.
She spoke up, "You got injured to save my sister, and mother-in-law was very angry, wanting to capture my sister.
But sister actually used Dr. Sally’s invitation as a bargaining chip to claim credit.
If it weren’t for worrying about Caleb having no one to care for him, I would have gone to Aethelgard to study at the medical college long ago, otherwise, I wouldn’t be so helpless and led by the nose."
Caleb crossed his arms and sneered, "You don’t have to worry about me; just go ahead."
After speaking, he muttered, "As if you could get accepted if you went."
Faye gritted her teeth, taking a deep breath to suppress the anger in her heart.
She felt like strangling Caleb.
This damn brat kept opposing her. If he weren’t somewhat useful, she would have taken care of him long ago!
How could she leave Veridia City now, without stabilizing Alaric, leaving would only create opportunities for others.
Especially since recently Alaric became interested in Eleanor, she definitely could not leave.
Alaric pinched his brow, his face full of impatience, clearly not wanting to hear Faye going on and on.
"Daddy is very tired, grandma, let’s go back." Caleb spoke up beside them.
"I...I’ll stay in the hospital to take care of Alaric."
Such a good opportunity, Faye couldn’t possibly miss it; if she stayed to take care of him, it might ease their relationship.
