Chapter 81: Chapter 81

Chapter 81 The Lonely Lone Wolf

"Horace Edie? Maybe it is him, but not necessarily." Martin muttered to himself.

The first person he suspected was of course Horace. But Martin thought about it carefully. He also had other enemies recently such as Moore Johnson, who wanted to clean himself up a long time ago, and a man such as the Audi guy, who he cleaned up at school today, and so on. So, Martin was not sure who was behind this.

At this moment. The ambulance arrived and after a brief rescue and first aid at the scene, Janet woke up.

"Janet!" Watching her woke up, Martin really felt really relieved.

"Martin, what happened?" Janet, who was lying on the stretcher, looked puzzled. She looked so innocent that day and it was distressing.

"There was a car accident just now. Fortunately, you are not in a serious condition but you have some trauma and you need to go to the hospital for further checkups." Martin smiled at her.

Martin did not want to tell her about the murder so as not to scare her. He did not want to worry about her.

Immediately afterward, he sent Janet to the ambulance. And because Martin had to deal with this side of the matter, he did not follow the ambulance to the hospital, but he promised and assured Janet to go to the hospital to see her after settling this.

As for the injuries he suffered, they were only minor skin injuries, such as bruises on the elbows and broken knees so he was just attended with first aid. He had suffered this kind of minor injury since he was a child, so it did not matter and there was no need to go to the hospital for treatment.

As soon as the ambulance left, two police cars arrived. Those policemen got off and looked at the smash in the Lamborghini. Several men in police uniforms ran to investigate the scene and another man and a woman in uniform walked directly in front of Martin. And they certainly looked into the several angles of as to why it happened. The policewoman looked very young and looked pretty tall.

"Excuse me, who is the owner of the car and what happened?" The policewoman asked.

"I am Martin James, Chairman of the C City branch of the Gold Group. We were two inside the car. My friend was rushed to the hospital for further examinations because she was the one who was badly hit." He introduced himself.

When the two heard that Martin was the chairman of Gold Group, they were taken aback. Immediately afterward, the attitude of both of them improved.

Who would not? He was the chairman of Gold Group!

Afterward, Martin told them what had just happened and also emphasized that the truck driver wanted to kill him while driving.

"It seems that this was a deliberate murder." The policewoman said while squinting.

"Nonsense, aren't you aware of everything that has happened and what I told you?" Martin said silently.

"Then, Chairman James, do you have any grudges with this truck driver?" The policewoman asked.

"I don't know him at all, so he must be instigated by someone. As for who instigated it, I hope you will check it out." He said.

"Chairman James, don't worry. This is our responsibility and we will definitely check this." The policewoman and the man in uniform next to her said.

Not long before, the policewoman ordered the truck driver to be tortured and pressed into the police car. Martin also followed the car and went to the bureau to make notes. As for the rest of the investigation and interrogation, he left it to the policemen's duty. Martin still hoped that the police would be able to use the truck driver to find out who was behind the truck incident. No matter who was behind it, the crime of deliberate murder was definitely enough to make him drink a pot!

After getting out of the game, Martin hailed a taxi and went to the hospital with the lone wolf to visit Janet. Her wound had been treated and she only needed to be hospitalized for observation for one day. The rest was to find out the real murderer!

After coming out of the hospital, the lone wolf accompanied Martin.

"Lone wolf, thank you so much for today. If it weren't for you, I might have already met my death just a few hours ago." He looked at the lone wolf seriously.

Although Lone Wolf was usually indifferent, Martin found him to be the most reliable at the critical and most crucial moment! Especially today, the lone wolf used his car to prevent his Lamborghini from being hit again and blocked the impact for Martin. He was risking his own life and protecting himself! This touched and moved Martin's heart.

"Young Master, I am instructed to protect you. This is what I should do. There's no need for you to thank me." Lone Wolf said calmly.

"How about I invite you to have a couple of drinks as a gesture of thanking you, what do you think?" He smiled.

Martin did not know how to thank the lone wolf. Seeing the lone wolf like this, he might not be very interested in money and he was sure his grandfather must have given him enough money. Martin thought for a while then pushed the invitation to drink.

"Drinking?" The lone wolf was taken aback.

"What's wrong? Is there any problem?" He looked at the lone wolf.

"Drinking is easy to make mistakes. I can't remember when was the last time I drank. I'm sorry, Young Master, I can't accept your invitation." He said calmly.

Seeing the look of the lone wolf's face, Martin suddenly felt a little worried.

Just like his code name "Lone Wolf," he was like a lone wolf. Martin could imagine, the lone wolf must be lonely.

"Lone wolf, are you...lonely?" Martin could not help but ask this question.

The lone wolf raised his head while looking at the sky. He said, "The strong ones are destined to be lonely. I have long been used to being alone."

"Okay, then go for a drink with me. From now on, you won't be alone anymore. If you don't dislike it, I will be your friend in the future." Martin directly grabbed the lone wolf by his arm.

"Young Master, thank you for your kindness but I really cannot accept your invitation." The lone wolf still calmly refused.

"Okay! If you don't go with me you'll be neglecting your duty to protect me so you have to really go with me, right?"

After Martin finished speaking, he beckoned to hail a taxi. The lone wolf did not want to go drinking with him, but Martin had a way to let him.

After opening the taxi door, Martin said, "Get in the car, our car was crashed. If you don't get in with me now, you have no car to follow me. In case of danger again, you may not be able to arrive in time." Martin said with a smile.

Lone Wolf thought for a while and got into the car.

...

Meanwhile, the other side, inside Horace's villa.

He opened a fermented bottle for a long time while tasting the wine. There was beauty in his arms, and his mood seemed very good. Because tonight is the day he and Colin Baker planned to implement and execute it.

"Martin, I highly doubt you are still alive tonight!" He said and viciously laughed. Horace did not stop laughing then poured the wine into the glass and drank it in one breath.

Horace asked himself that the plan Colin told him was absolutely beautiful and seamless. Thinking of Martin in his thought that he was about to die, he could not help but be in a good mood. At this moment, the door was pushed open and Colin hurried in.

"Mr. Edie, something has happened!" Colin's face seemed troubled.

"Something happened?" Horace, who was still smiling, suddenly turned gloomy.

"What the hell is going on, say it!" Horace pushed away from the beauty next to him.

"Mr. Edie, the assassination plan...failed again! The man who drove the truck to hit the kid was arrested." Colin lowered his head.

"What?!" Horace stood up abruptly after hearing this.

"How is this possible! How could such a seamless plan fail! How could that kid escape!" Horace almost ranted this sentence.

Initially, when he developed his own power in C City, he used this method several times to get rid of his opponents and finally lean on the planned "car accident." He just needed to find someone to top the bag. This method, at that time Horace tried Bailing, was very easy to use!

"Mr. Edie, I don't know what exactly was going on at the time but the news that the driver has been caught in the station was true!" Colin said helplessly.

"Asshole, you must be looking for an unreliable person!"

Horace slapped Colin's face with anger.

"Mr. Edie, I-I was wronged. I used to arrange things like this. Mr. Edie, which time do you think is the most reliable one? This time, the person I will be looking for is absolutely reliable!"

Colin covered his face and looked at Horace innocently.

"Fine! Everyone is now arrested so what else can I do?" He reluctantly sat back on the sofa.

Horace originally thought that Martin would definitely die this time, but his dream fell through again. Afterward, he closed his eyes and said weakly, " The driver who was arrested is reliable, right? Has the settlement fee been paid? Will, he not blow the whistle and confess that it was us?"

"Mr. Edie, I rest assured that he is absolutely reliable. He will take all the charges and he will never say a word against you!" Colin said firmly.

"I don't believe this Martin James has such good luck! He can escape every time; find out what happened to him!" Horace gritted his teeth.

"Okay, I'm going to check it out!" The terrified Colin responded and quickly exited the room.
