Chapter 220: Chapter 220
Chapter 220 Faces
"How could you be so good?" Rachel's face was livid and his voice became sharp.
"It's you who's too rubbish. To be honest with you, it's insulting me." Martin said flatly.
"You..."
Rachel's facial muscles twitched and his face looked complicated.
"Now that I've won, hand in the bet, and I don't think you're going to turn back to your words." Martin reached out his hand.
Rachel was beyond furious. He could only bite his teeth and take out his Ferrari keys.
It was worth more than three million.
It's definitely not a small sum for Rachel, especially when he lost to Martin. It simply hurt his pride.
He had only dared to take out his Ferrari to bet on, simply because he felt he had the upper hand.
"I'm Rachel James. Of course, I'm not going to play tricks, so take it!"
Rachel gritted his teeth to finish the remark. Then, he handed over the car keys to Martin.
After all, with so many people watching, he couldn't play dirty with his face on the line.
Martin took the car keys. The corners of his mouth were slightly raised, and then, he turned to Renee.
"Renee, did I let you down?" Martin asked with a laugh.
"No, you didn't! It seems that I misunderstood and looked down on you. I did not expect you to have this skill. I really pinched a sweat for you." Renee smiled awkwardly.
"Renee, you really don't have to worry about me. I give this car to you. You're going to need it later when you start closing deals with your business partners. No good car will be looked down upon by them."
Martin handed Renee the car keys with a smile on his face.
He was in Renee James' car when they went there.
Renee drove a low-end Audi just over 300,000 dollars.
In the car, Martin asked Renee and she said she put all the money into the company because they were short on money. Basically, she cannot even buy an Audi.
"It's not how this going to work! You don't have a car, so you keep it." Renee refused.
"Renee, I really have a car of my own, so you take it. If you won't take it, I'm going to be angry."
Martin stuffed the car keys into Renee's hand.
"That's... Well, thank you, Martin. I'll keep the car for you first, and when you graduate from college, I'll give it to you." Renee said with a laugh.
Their cousins were shocked to see the events unfolding before them.
"This boy himself is a poor egg. It is not easy to get a more than three million car, but he turned to give it away? He's too generous, isn't he?"
"Yeah, it's amazing how a poor boy could do such a brazen thing."
Everyone seemed baffled. After all, it's not like a poor boy's style at all.
Even Rachel and Mick were shocked, and even them weren't so rich enough to give away luxury cars at will.
It was then that the club manager with a fit flat-head came in.
Rachel flashed a smile. He knew him.
"Scott, you are here!" Rachel looked respectful.
The flat-headed man, Scott William, was the owner of the club.
"Rachel, I heard you had a cousin who scored 96 rings, and I wanted to get to know him." Scott said.
"Alright!" Rachel nodded.
Immediately after, Rachel turned to Martin. "Martin, you hurry up and come here. Scott wants to know you!" Rachel said in a commanding tone.
Martin raised his eyebrows slightly, but he came over.
"Hello, my name is Martin James." Martin simply said one thing.
"Young man, 96 rings are a good result. I heard you have a good shooting position, too. Where did you learn?" Scott looked at Martin with a smile on his face.
Martin glanced at him. He was probably in his 30s, and had a sense of being a soldier.
Martin thought Rachel had told everyone before he came that he knew the owner of the club. He's a retired colonel, so he inferred it should be Scott.
"I didn't learn much, maybe it's talent." Martin casually replied.
After that, Martin turned to Renee.
"Renee, didn't you say you still want to try, would you like me to guide you?" Martin smiled.
"Okay!" Renee was more than pleased.
So, Martin and Renee turned straight to the shooting booth.
After Martin and Renee walked away, the atmosphere became instantly awkward.
Holy. Has Scott been ignored by Martin?
Rachel could barely stand the humiliation given to him by Martin, not to mention that they were cousins.
But Martin definitely embarrassed Scott, and it's different.
Martin ignored Scott and left casually. He couldn't believe it and he was also completely gloomy.
"Rachel, is he related to you?" Scott asked with a straight face.
"Well, he's..."
Rachel had a cold sweat on his forehead and didn't know how to explain it.
"You people are amazing. How dare you act up in front of me!" Scott said.
After that, Scott turned straight away.
"Scott, listen to me!" Rachel called in a hurry.
But Scott didn't stop at all and went straight out.
When Rachel saw Scott leave, his face was instantly clouded and his eyes sparked with anger.
If only he summons a meteor and hit Martin on the spot.
"Martin, you didn't face Scott for more than a minute, do you know what you've done? Apologize to him now!" Rachel shouted exasperatedly.
"I don't know him, so why should I entertain him? As for an apology, that's not going to happen." Martin said flatly.
"I'll make you pay for this!"
Rachel dropped the remark and turned and walked out.
"Boy, you're in trouble!" Mick said before he turned and went out.
The rest of them followed Rachel closely behind.
After all, Rachel and Mick left, so it didn't make sense for them to stay there any longer.
Renee covered her mouth and laughed. "Martin, don't mind Rachel. It's Grandpa who met Scott, and you only did the right thing for not saving Scott a face."
"Isn't he a retired colonel? Is there anything special?" Martin was curious.
"Scott is from the William family. His father was the military district major. When you heard his name, didn't you think Scott doesn't have quite the background?" Renee said.
"Oh? Then, he has a really big background." Martin nodded.
"When I heard about Scott when I was forced to come back to JY City, but then again, his father was well-respected." Renee said.
"No wonder Rachel has a lot of respect for him." Martin nodded in a trance.
Immediately after, Martin turned around the corner.
"Okay, stop it. I'll teach you to shoot and concentrate."
Meanwhile, Scott returned to his office. "Martin James? How does his name seem to be familiar somehow?" Scott muttered.
Then Scott looked up and ordered someone. "Go, check a certain Martin James for me right now!"
"Okay, sir!" The manager nodded.
Ten minutes later, the manager hurried back to the office.
"Scott, his identity is really different. He's ostensibly part of the James Family, but in fact he's the Chairman of the C City Branch of the Gold Group, and he's the grandson of Mr. Gracie." The manager said.
"Mr. Gracie's grandson?" Scott was surprised. "No wonder he didn't take me seriously when he saw me." He muttered.
Scott was well aware that Master Gracie was not only Gold's man at the helm, but he was also California's richest man, and it was known that he had a scary backing.
Even when Scott's father met him, he couldn't help but cower in submission.
Scott's father, who had always wanted to climb the man behind Mr. Gracie, had been trying to get there.
Including Scott himself, who wanted to make a comeback, was afraid he'd have to rely on the help of Mr. Gracie and the people behind him.
"Is he still at our club? Let's hurry over. I'll go and spend time with him." Scott got up in a hurry.
