Chapter 15: Chapter 15

Chapter 15 Meeting with Regan Jeremy

"By the way, where is the new chairman now, Mr. Bess?" Mandel asked. Regan also looked at Michael curiously.

"The chairman is now resting in the VIP lounge, waiting for the party to begin." Michael replied.

"Really? So, can I meet him in the VIP lounge first?" Mandel asked with a hopeful smile.

Now that the new chairman was assigned, Mandel had to make sure to continue cooperating with the Gold Group. But he had curry favor with the new chairman first.

Michael smiled apologetically. "I'm sorry, Mr. Jeremy, but I can only report for you. As to whether Mr. James wants to see you or not, it depends on Mr. James." He replied.

"Well, then I have to bother Mr. Bess." Mandel had to give it up.

After all, Mandel's company was just a local building materials company, while Gold Group was a top conglomerate in California. Of course, there was no comparison between the two.

......

Back in the VIP lounge, not long after the chairman of the hotel left, Martin's phone rang.

"Hello, Michael." Martin greeted after picking up the phone.

"Mr. Mandel Jeremy of the Ice field Building Materials Co., Ltd., and his son Regan Jeremy, would like to see you in the lounge." Michael explained.

"Oh? Are they coming to see me?" Martin smiled a meaningful smile.

Yesterday in the school, Regan said harsh words to mock Martin. Now, Regan and his father were coming to see the new chairman, not knowing that it was Martin. What a wonderful world!

"Michael, bring them up." Martin ordered.

"Understood, Mr. James." After Michael got the instruction, he hung up the phone.

In front of the hotel, Mandel and Regan stared at Michael expectantly. "What did the new chairman say, Mr. Bess?" Mandel couldn't help but ask.

"The new chairman asked me to take you up." Michael replied.

"That's great!" Mandel and Regan smiled happily when they heard the answer.

"Come with me."

Michael led Mandel and his son directly to the VIP lounge on the second floor.

"Mr. Bess, could you tell me the origin of the new chairman? I heard that the new chairman is very young and has a strong background. I don't know if it's true or not." Mandel asked on their way to the VIP lounge.

Michael nodded. "Yes, his background was unimaginably strong."

"Oh?" When Mandel and Regan heard this, they became even more interested.

"Mr. Bess, can I ask about this 'strong background' of the new chairman?" Mandel hurriedly asked and Regan also looked at Michael curiously.

Michael thought there was no problem in answering the question. "The new chairman is the biological grandson of the Mr. Morgan Gracie."

Both the father and son gasped in surprise. "Oh, it turns out he was Mr. Morgan Gracie's grandson!"

Who was Morgan Gracie?

He was none other than the richest man in California and the founder of Gold Group.

It was a level that Mandel and his son would never achieve, a horrible existence that they could only look up to.

Mandel couldn't help clicking his tongue in astonishment. "The background was indeed very strong."

"Dad, I didn't think we were about to meet such a powerful person." Regan said excitedly.

"Yes, so we have to be more careful. You must be respectful to him, and don't talk nonsense. More importantly, you can't offend him, do you understand?" Mandel warned his son.

Even if Mandel was wary of the new chairman, he still thought it would be beneficial for him and his company to get in the good side of Morgan Gracie's grandson.

"Don't worry, Dad. Even if you lend me a hundred guts, I won't dare to collide with such a powerful person." Regan assured his father.

Back in the VIP lounge, there was a knock at the door.

"Come on in." Martin smirked slightly.

The door was pushed open and three people came. Walking in front was Michael, followed by Mandel Jeremy and his son. Regan hurriedly looked up ahead to catch a glimpse of the new chairman.

Then, his smile froze the moment he saw Martin.

Wasn't this person his classmate, Martin James? What was he doing here?

There was no one else in the room except Martin.

Michael's voice woke Regan up from his trance.

"Mr. Jeremy, I'd like to introduce you to our new chairman, Martin James."

What!?

Regan was flabbergasted at the revelation.

Unaware of his son's anomaly, Mandel quickly presented a flattering smile. "I am Mandel Jeremy, director of Ice field Building Materials Co., Ltd. It's nice to finally meet you." Then, he turned to his son.

He frowned when Regan did not respond and saw him standing very still. "What are you standing there for? Hurry up and greet Mr. James!" He reprimanded.

"How? How could it be him!?" Regan did not answer his father, but he stared at Martin in horror. Was he dreaming? The person they were eager to see was him?! How come that the new chairman of the C City branch of Gold Group was Martin?!

"Regan, what are you doing?! Hurry up and introduce yourself to Mr. James!" Mandel lightly kicked his son on the leg when he heard Regan spouting nonsenses.

He specifically told his son to be respectful when meeting the new chairman, but Regan started shouting gibberish as soon as he came in. How could he not be angry?

Martin smiled and waved to Mandel. "Mandel, it's fine. I know your son. We are classmates."

"You know each other? Classmates?" Mandel was stunned.

Then, Martin stood up from the leather sofa and walked slowly towards Regan.

"Regan, were you surprised to see me? I said in the classroom yesterday that we might meet at the cocktail party today, didn't I? Do you believe me now?" Martin wore a playful smile as talked to Regan.

"How can you be the new chairman?! How can you be the grandson of Morgan Gracie! This must be a mistake!" Regan shook his head. He couldn't accept it at all.

On the said, Michael heard this, and his eyes narrowed. "Mr. Regan, please watch your attitude and language. You're standing before the new chairman of our branch and Morgan Gracie's grandson! Show some respect!"

Regan went stiff and cold.

Michael had said so, and the fact that Martin was here was enough to proof that everything was real. Even if he didn't want to, he had to accept the reality.

Regan finally understood why that time when he asked the political and educational director to expel Martin yesterday, the headmaster protected Martin, because Martin's background was too scary.

Regan felt a chill on his back when he was reminded of his behavior. He couldn't believe he had offended such opponent!

Mandel knew his son, so he had gotten a clue of what was happening.

"Regan! What did you do?" Mandel yelled at his son.

Regan could only stutter incoherently.

This reaction was enough proof for Mandel that his son had offended Martin before. Mandel could almost see red as he strode towards Regan and began kicking his son.

"You bastard! Get down on your knees and apologize to the Mr. James!"

Mandel couldn't stop his anger because he knew that displeasing Martin was equivalent to Gold Group cutting their connections to him and his company. Additionally, his company was mostly dependent to the Gold Group. If he lost his connection to the Gold Group, his company might even go bankrupt!

Regan certainly understood this. The next moment, he knelt on the ground, trembling. "Mr. James! I was wrong. I'm sorry! Please forgive me!" He pleaded.

It finally occurred to Regan that the person he provoked was none other than the new chairman of Gold Group and the grandson of the famous Morgan Gracie. With Martin's status, Regan could only swallow his pride and beg for forgiveness.

"Oh, didn't you threaten to expel me from school yesterday? Didn't you say you were going to ruin my future? And now, you're begging for mercy?"

Regan flushed and stuttered.

Martin looked down on Regan with a sneer. "I said yesterday that I could consider giving you a chance if you apologized to me, but you didn't. You chose another path to hell instead."

Regan trembled at Martin's words. He immediately crawled towards Martin and clung to his thigh. "Martin, I'm begging you. Weren't we classmates? Just give me one more chance, please!"

The once arrogant and domineering Regan was turned into a pleading mess, begging for mercy as if his life depended on it. At some point, that wasn't far from the truth. Regan could care less.

"Get out!" Martin kicked Regan away from his leg.

People like Regan were not worthy of pity at all.

Martin stood with his hands on his back, he turned to Michael. "Michael, starting from today, terminate all contracts related to the Ice field Building Materials Company. Our company will no longer purchase any building materials from their company."
