Chapter 122: Chapter 122

Chapter 122 Horace Edie Bowed

Horace Edie saw the middle-aged man in the suit changed his face, and he dared not say any more.

"I'll get the excavator back!" Horace could only nod.

Horace told the people around him to call the excavator back.

Soon, the ten excavators were pulled out of the Castle Peak Orphanage.

"Horace Edie, take your men and go! Don't think about this land anymore." The middle-aged man in the suit said.

"I-I'm leaving." Although Horace was not reconciled to it, there was nothing he could do about it.

"Wait a minute!"

Martin stopped Horace.

"Boy, what else do you want?!" Horace looked at Martin with resentful eyes.

"Do you think it's appropriate for you to tear down the orphanage like this and want to leave without giving an explanation?" Martin said coldly.

"What do you mean?" Horace stared at James.

"What I mean is very simple, if you want to go, you lose money first." Martin said calmly.

"You." Horace's face turned livid in an instant.

Horace vowed to tear down the Castle Peak Orphanage today, but now he had compromised and was willing to leave, Martin was planning to make him lose money?

"Martin James, I've already compromised. Don't go too far!" Horace said viciously.

"What do you mean too much? You tear down the orphanage like this, and just want to leave. Shall I find some excavators and demolish your house without paying for it? If so, when I demolish other people's houses all over the street just like that, wouldn't the world be in a mess?"

"Am I right, sir?" Martin smiled at the middle-aged man in the suit.

"Yes! If you destroy other people's property, you should pay compensation according to the price."

The middle-aged man in the suit could only smile and nod. Like a persimmon, if he was wrong, he would have a big problem.

Then, the middle-aged man in the suit looked at Horace and said, "If Horace Edie damages other people's property, it should be compensated according to the price."

Even if Horace was unwilling, it could only be transformed into one word.

"Alright."

Martin looked back at the Castle Peak Orphanage and said, "I'll tell you what. Just pay five or six million dollars casually."

"Martin James, you..." Horace's facial muscles twitched.

He only demolished a three-story building, and even if it was newly built and one million was enough for that, Martin asked him for five or six million.

But when Horace saw the middle-aged man in the suit next to him, he could only take out a cheque and immediately wrote a check for 5 million dollars.

For the former Horace, five million was small money, but Martin almost ran out of liquidity at the last auction, so five million was a lot for him now.

Most importantly, it was not only a matter of money but also a matter of breath!

"Take it!"

After Horace wrote the check, he threw it on the floor and turned away.

The people brought by Horace also began to retreat, including the ten excavators.

"Mr. Martin James is brave and resourceful. He must be great in the future. I have something to do, so I'll leave first." After the middle-aged man in the suit finished, he also turned and left.

"No." Martin replied with a smile, neither humble nor arrogant.

Then, Martin James picked up the check for five million and went to the dean and Kitty.

At this time, the dean and Kitty were very excited.

After Martin walked up to the two of them, they were all the more excited to say thank you again.

"Thank you so much, Mr. James!" The dean said excitedly.

"Yes, Mr. James. You are so amazing that you can make Horace Edie bow his head! You are a hero!" Kitty had an adoring look on her face.

"What a big hero? I'm just an ordinary nobody." Martin said with a smile.

Martin handed the check to the dean.

"Dean, take this check."

"Mr. James, you won this. How can we take it?" The dean hurriedly waved her hand.

"Dean, do you think I'm the one who needs this kind of money? Besides, the money was originally compensated for the Castle Peak Orphanage." Martin said.

Martin put the money directly into the hands of the dean.

Kitty glanced at 1000 people of Gold Security, and then asked Martin, "Mr. James, I venture to ask. Who are you?"

In Kitty's opinion. Martin could easily call so many people at his own will and forced Horace Edie to compromise. She wondered who Martin was.

"I am the chairman of the C City branch of Gold Group." Martin said with a smile.

"Chairman of Gold?" Both the dean and the Kitty froze for a moment.

In their eyes, Gold was such a big group and a big company.

In their eyes, what a powerful person the chairman of Gold was!

"Mr. James, I just met you in the hospital the other day. I never expected that you would be such a big shot." Kitty said blankly.

"Let's talk about the orphanage. What are your plans when the orphanage has been so damaged by them?" Martin said.

"The main building is in ruins. The Castle Peak Orphanage has been built for 20 years, so the facilities were already dilapidated. Even many of them can't be used."

"Instead of spending money on rebuilding the main building, my idea is that it would be better to build a new orphanage and give the children a better condition and environment. This five million should be enough." The dean said.

"I agree." Martin nodded.

Martin James had a flash of inspiration.

"I do have an idea." Martin said.

"Mr. James, please say it." Both the dean and Kitty looked at Martin.

"Since it needs to be renovated, I, the Gold Group, will help pick out a new place and build a bigger and better orphanage there. All the expenses will be paid by us. How about the Gold Group take this piece of land now?" Martin said.

Martin's idea was definitely a win-win situation.

First of all, the Castle Peak Orphanage could get a bigger and better orphanage for free without spending a penny.

Secondly, Gold could get the current land of the orphanage and use it to develop a new establishment.

"We can just give you the land of Mr. James. You gave us five million dollars last time, and this time you helped us get the five million dollars from Horace Edie. This money is already more than enough to buy this piece of land." The dean said.

After a pause, the dean continued, "As for the new orphanage, we ourselves are out of the 10 million. Half of it is enough, where can you spend more money?"

Castle Peak Orphanage had received ten million dollars from Martin. The dean was ashamed if they asked Martin to build them an orphanage.

Martin waved his hand, "One yard is one yard. I donated the first 5 million dollars, and just now the 5 million dollars were compensated by Horace Edie to the orphanage."

Martin continued, "Since I'm going to buy this land, I'm sure I won't let the orphanage suffer any losses. It's settled. I'll arrange the new orphanage when I get back." Martin said.

"Then I would like to thank you, Mr. James a lot. The orphanage is really hard thing to rebuilt!" The dean bowed to Martin earnestly.

Kitty also bowed.

At the other end of the day in Susan's house, she had been locked up in the room since she was tied up. She wanted to go out, but the window had an anti-theft feature and the door was locked, so she had to walk around the room anxiously.

"I hope that the dean, Kitty and the children are all right!" Susan clasped her hands and looked nervous and worried.

What Susan cared about now was not whether the orphanage could be preserved, because she knew that Horace was going to demolish the orphanage. It must be gone. She now hoped that the dean, Kitty, and the children would be safe and sound.

Just then, the door of the room was suddenly opened. Susan's grandfather came in.

"Susan, I have some good news for you. The Castle Peak Orphanage is safe." Susan's grandfather said.

"Really?" Susan was surprised and delighted when she heard the news.

"Just ask your friend at the orphanage what's going on." Susan's grandfather said.

"Does that mean I can go out now?" Susan rejoiced.

"That's right." Her grandfather nodded.

"Then I'll go!"

Susan Bulwer hurried out. She couldn't wait to see what was going on at the Castle Peak Orphanage.

What's more, she wanted to know how the Castle Peak Orphanage escaped in the face of the claws of Horace Edie.
